Eating Out

I've eaten out twice this week. Both times I've done OK. I wanted to be "perfect", but being better than I used to is good! I used to eat as much bread as the server would bring out, clear my plate totally, and want dessert. This time I had a small bit of bread (thought I wanted to have none). I guess a small bit is better than what would equal 1/4 a laof! I left food on my plate (oh the guilt of waste!), and I didn't have dessert. I think eating out is much better than it used to be. I go out less often and eat better when I am out.

Note to self: You don't need to be perfect. You just need to be better than when you were being really unhealthy!

OK, it's off to Zumba now!

First Week Of The New Year

Ah, I've had a good first week of the New Year. I've been sore because of getting back to serious exercise after not exercising for so long....lots of aspercreme and hot tub'n! My body is getting used to it fairly well, and I've had a ton more energy!!!!

I just measured my bodyfat to compare from November 1st. It has gone from 47.6 % to 43.4 %!

11-01-08     234 Ilbs.     Body fat: 47.6 %

New Year Workouts!

Ok, since I started a new career and started working on my Master's degree at the same time I totally stopped exercising. Work, do stuff at home for work, college, do stuff at home for college, sleep, eat, shower......not much time left after all of that!

I am near finishing my degree and have a good handle on my new career soooo it's time to work exercise back into my life.

I enjoy Belly Dance and Zumba and have mapped out all of the days and times that those classes are offered at my gym's locations. They are both fun, and Zumba burns crazy cals!

So far for the first week of the near year (and on New Years Eve) I've worked out 2 hours each day, with one day of rest. The first three days were painful! My muscles were soooo sore!!! My body is getting used to it now though.

I on vacation for the next twenty days and plan to work out 2-3 hours a day 6 days a week to really kick off my New Year right! Once I go back to work I'll modify things to fit my shedule.  On the agenda for this evening is: Zumba!

Great Vacation!

I just had a great holiday vacation. It was a fun time, but I ate toooo much junk-o-la!!!

I've gained 3 pounds back.

Now that the traveling is over, I'm back on track with eating well and exercising. I'm heading to the gym today!

Holidays....

Ah the holidays.....

I've decided that for the holidays that I would take a break. My goal is to not gain or lose anything. It's going well so far.

I'll be going to visit family for a few days and then spend a day at Lake Tahoe. It should be a nice time. I'll be back on Sunday, December 28. On that day I will get back to eating healthy and working out. I'll be on vacation for a for four weeks. In that time I plan to go on a strick eating and exercise plan to take full atvantage of my vacation and kick start my new year. After my vacation is over it'll be back to my busy life. I'm thinking of this vacation as a mini boot camp. =)

Have a happy holiday!

Week 3

Ah....week 3.....I didn't lose anything this week. It's TOM.

I did loss 1 pound the day after the week ended though.

13 pounds gone now.

Too Cheesy!

I've decided to eat foods which are low in carbohydrates. Where we really meant to be eating processed, bleached foods? In doing this I've been reading the Atkin's book to learn about what is healthy to eat in regards to protien, carbs, and fats.

For the next two weeks I will be mainly eating meats, cheeses, and green veggies. In order to keep variety, I've decided to go cheese shopping. Tonight I got 8 different kinds. One sort of scares me. It's the "eat the creepy, white rind" kind. I'm not too sure about it, but thought I'd give it a try. Vareity is the spice of life right? We'll see....  One cheese has garlic in it and another has onion. I'm thinking that I'll like those.

Have a cheesy day!

Week 2

Today marks the end of week two.

I went out of town for a few days this past week so for three days I had carbs, but had small portions.

I think that I only worked out once or twice last week. I can't remember.

I lost five pounds last week.

In October I called my cable company and added the fitness channel. All last month I've been recording a belly dance show called "Shimmy". I've got tons of belly dance lessons recorded now. I'm going to to try to do a lot more belly dancing. Tonight I did 45 minutes.

If I can belly dance two more times this week I will meet my goal of excercising three days a week.....piece of cake!

I Survived Thanksgiving!

I survived Thanksgiving and a trip out of town!

I ate 3/4 of what I usually eat. I had one roll, a few bites of potatoes, yams, and stuffing and a few small slices of turkey. I normally have a plate and a half full of food with 2-4 rolls and two pieces of pumpkin pie that end up equaling 1/4 of the pie.....the day after Thanksgiving I'll have two more....OMG half a pie! This year I had a piece that was one inch wide and that was it.

IThe day after Thanksgiving I took my sister out to a Mexican place to eat. Normally we split an appetizer, go through more than one basket of chips, and eat a meal. We only split the appetizer, and I had about 8 chips.

The status of the trip: no gain/no loss.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I hit my first mini-goal: 10 pounds down!

I'm going out of town this weekend to visit family for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving will be a cheat day, but I will eat in moderation.....a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

I've been eating well so far this week and have already exercised two times. I need one more day of exercises before Monday to hit my goal. I'll have to figure out how to do that around my trip.
