So I was at my cousins wedding yesterday and I saw a girl who was medium build, wearing this dress. And I fell in love. It beeeeee-u-tiful. So I decided to try it on. And I tried on the 14 and fell in love.
The problem is that it is not a cheap dress. Well priced for what it is but not something that I want to wear only for a little while. So.....I decided to make the executive decision to buy it. In an size 8. Because I know that I will be a size 8 sooner rather than later. And also because I know that if I bought the dress in the larger size and have it altered all the way down, it will change the fit of the dress. SO, I did a brave thing and decided to buy it in the smaller size....my goal size really....and hung it up on the wall in my bedroom. It is something to help me visualize goal.
That is it!! I can't wait to fit into it. I told Mr. Bo Berry that when I fit, he needs to find somewhere to take me in it!! lol.

Great dress!
Love the dress! And good job deciding to buy the smaller size. This is great incentive. I did the same thing with a size 6 skirt...bought it when it was way too small, hung it in the bathroom, tried it on about every two weeks, and now it's too big. BUT I'm not complaining. It was worth the money just using it as inspiration to get there! Good luck in getting in that great dress!
You are my inspiration.... Mr. Bo Berry needs to get his plan in action because you will be in that 8 soon enough. Personally, I believe a limo should be involved... Just a thought..... :)
Beautiful dress - what an incentive! Mr. Bo Berry had better save his dough, because he's going to have to take you somewhere really amazing when you fit into that dress (and it will likely be sooner than later)!
Great idea on hanging the dress to give you motivation. I have a dress that I use for the same. I was 17 last time I wore it, but I still love it and dream of fitting back into it.
I suggest that you hang the size 8 lingerie that you'll be wearing under the dress in Mr. Bo Berry's closet to motivate him to plan a "super special" night.
I love your confidence. You know you are going to make it! No questions asked! I love the dress. I like Tanya's suggestion. I can't wait to see your picture in the dress! Soon!
You're pretty gusty to buy that dress in a smaller size. I love the dress and you will look great in it. I never thought about hanging it up to see it. I should do the same thing. This reminds me of the yogurt commerical where the girl hanged a yellow bathing suit on her wall until summertime. Funny, how we're all doing that as well.
From highschool..size 10 Gaps..slim cut. They're hanging on my closet door and every once in a while I try and pull them on. I can get them up over my hips now. When I started they would only go to my knees. LOL!
I think it's brave of you to buy something. I'd be afraid I'd get to goal, but still not be small enough. LOL! :)
I was window shopping at Ann Taylor this weekend and I fell in love with that dress too and an outfit that was a chocolate brown with contrast stitching. :) My dd wanted a flowy bias cut black and white flowered dress.. Umm No.. :) Good luck.
