So there I was with SlyFox and my new friend Hottie Miss S and we were at the mall. Trying on clothes. I have not done this in a long time.
After calculating that I have lost 12.2 since the beginning of the year...and knowing that I am going to add to that total tomorrow, I felt good....confident about going and trying on clothes for my trip to Vegas.
Well....good and bad happened.
Good? I found the best pair of black poly pants that I totally love and fit me great...like a glove actually. Size 12. And I am happy that I made that purchase.
Bad? I still realized that I have a loooooooong way to go. I still have stubby chubby legs, some rolls that are going to get smaller and that I am between a size 12 and 14 which is always fun...beging in between. lol.
Clothes shopping is fun but always brings back memories of when I was younger and overweight....how I would cry in the dressing rooms with my mother who told me it would be okay (bad). It also reminds me of the last time I stepped foot into a Lane Bryant after trying on the smallest size and realizing that it swam on me (good). It also makes me happy that I can shop in Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and other 'normal' stores that I could barely slip one leg in to their clothing....and now I can always find my size.
So today was both challenging and rewarding at the same time.
And it did not hurt to have great company!!
Onward and Downward.....looking forward to seeing the scale in the morning.....

Yes it may be a long way to go
but you should pat yourself on your back once in a while for being able to get into a smaller size. Those little rewards will help keep you motivated. You can give yourself mini goals like maybe you can try to get into a size 10-12 by the end of the summer.
I like to give myself time to be able to lose the weight because saying I want to be in a size 10 by the end of the month is not realistic, but then you may surprise yourself by getting into a 10 before the summer ends!
I also noticed that my legs have become toned when I do some yoga stretch to my muscles before I go to bed every night. Those simple things can really make a difference in your body. Maybe you can try that and see how it goes from there. It also made my running easier. Just a small tip to share with you. Hope you have a great weekend!
I know goal seems to far away, but look at how far you've come. You cannot even recognize the lady in that before picture. It's amazing to me. Good job on going clothes shopping. I've made a few new purchases for myself this week as well. Last week I bought new jeans. I now have 2 size 10 pairs of jeans. . and different brands. . . and they both fit me amazingly. I also have new MEDIUM tops.
So we're in this together. . we're going to make it. . and let's reward ourselves with meeting each other :) I can come there, you can come here. . we'll meet in the middle, but let's do it!
Clothes shopping gets me down no matter how great I feel like I'm doing.
I hate it because clothing sizes aren't consistent. One day, I can put on a pair of 8s and there is room to spare. I go somewhere else, try on a 10 and can't get them buttoned. I hate going through that.
Of course, I can't get over the numbers on the tag. If I find a pair of pants I like and the size I want doesn't fit, I'll just not get them, rather than go up a size. That's stupid, I know. I'm the only person in the world who knows what size they are and it is JUST a number, but I really let it get to me.
Don't let it get to you.
If it ever does, just look over there at your weight loss chart and see how far you've come! That will keep you going.
Chin up!
