Hi!, Howdy!, and Salutations!
Hello to anyone reading this! My name is Laura and I'm trying to lose weight. (insert round of "Hello Laura" here) I've been the chunky kid since some point in middle school and it's gotten worse the past 4-5 years. I blame vet school's long hours and my vast laziness. I've been out of school for a year now and finally decided it's time to do something about this.
I was in decent shape in college because I did sports (Crew and Fencing), although I still definitely had weight to lose then. Vet school kind of killed all of that between long hours on my butt in class and long hours studying after class. Sports stopped, gym time became sporatic, and Laura became even more fat. I went from ~150 in undergrad to ~180 by the time I graduated in 2008. Then I moved across country and put on 5 lbs just in the move because I ate the whole way to keep myself awake (I was driving a 16' truck by myself for 3000 miles and 5.5 days). ~185 is the most I've ever weighed and it was damn depressing.
After the holidays my first year out of school, I decided enough was enough and managed to lose about 15 pounds just watching eating and getting to a gym sporadically...2 times a week, maybe 3 if it was a good week. That tapered off about 2-3 months ago, then I moved again, so gym time disappeared for a while again. Unfortunately, the gyms near me at the moment are pretty expensive, so I looked into video workouts. I started Slim in 6 on the 11th of July, starting weight at 169. And now here I am, as I said in the description, to vent, rant, and cheer myself on as I go through the tapes. :)
I'll work on getting some "Before" photos up shortly...time to head to bed for now, feeling mildly guilty about the small cup of ice cream I gave into...ugh, food is such an addiction...
