Week 14, Day 4

Home from work today, nursing my Buddy (golden retriever) who was neutered yesterday!  Poor boy is doing pretty well except when I have to put the big cone on him....he just stands there and looks sorry for himself!

I'm so glad to be back in the swing of JC food.  It feels great to get back into my routine, especially since its been working so well.  Had Passover dinner on Wed night - filled my plate 1/2 way with veggies, had a small piece of meat and a few potatoes.  Had 2 marshmellow coated chocolates and a handful (maybe more) of cashews.  I know that i need to be careful of becoming falsely confident.  You know the feeling that you are doing so well that you can "afford" a little this or that....WRONG!!!  I have gotten into this trap before and lets just say that was 50 some pounds ago :-(

I really enjoyed my salads this week, I really missed that while away.  Oh, something amazing happened to me yesterday at work....its incredibly busy these few weeks (and having off today and Monday unfortunately just puts more pressure on us) and I had to leave early yesterday to pick Buddy up from the vets....I'm running around like a chicken with the head cut off...next thing you know, I look at the clock and its 1;20 - out loud I said "OMG I forget to have lunch"!!!!!   I cannot remember EVER forgetting a meal - for me, it would be almost like forgetting to breathe!!!  Needless to say, I quickly got my lunch together and corrected the mistake :-)

Since I am off today, went to the gym and did a step/scupt class and then will do spinning on sat and sun....I'll have to see what they have on monday.

Once again, I have to say that I love this site and all the people who take the time to both READ and COMMENT on my posts....it totally keeps me going and I'm so appreciative.  Being an approval seeker, getting all of your positive feedback really keeps me motivated and on target!  Thank YOU to all!

Week 14, Day 1 and Week 13 WI

WI last night, down 2 lbs!!!  On a vacation week!  I told you guys I did a good job!  I am very proud of this accomplishment.  I didn't let anything get in my way.  It feels wonderful to be able to maintain focus on my goal and not let distractions (FOOD) get in my way.  So, 25 lbs down now and 1.2 lbs away from 1/2 way...AND even better, 4 lbs away from weighing less than my husband!!!

I was happy to get home and get back into my routine, including JC foods!!  I did my spin classes on Sat and Sun also.  I won't be able to make it tonight b/c of a Dr. appt though.

I am totally swamped at work for the next few weeks :-( , but I am going to go try to catch up with some of you and see how you've been doing!!

Week 13, Day 3?

Ok, so still here in now sunny FL.  Have been holding up pretty well, but definitely looking forward to getting back home and back ON PLAN!

Picking back up on Monday - my presentation went very well, we got some great feedback and I love doing things like this - especially now that I am 23 lbs down and not overly focused on wondering if people think I am fat! :-)

Mon lunch was a terrible veggie sandwich, with my JC cheese curls and toffee bites for a late snack.  Oh, also had a yummy tropical frozen drink out by the pool - cdouldn't help myself!  We had a fabulous event at the Animal Kingdom - they had the park open only for our group and all of the rides and FOOD was free.  I had a piece of salmon with dirty rice and green beans (they had butter on them and were delish) for dinner and a glass of wine.  I had some popcorn as it smelled so yummy but passed over the funnel cakes, ice cream, desserts, etc and had fruit instead.  We did do a lot of walking so I think that was ok.

Tues - Another 6;30 am class even though I was sore as hell.  JC bfast with fruit.  Buffet lunch, had 1/2 piece roasted chicken, smalll piece of Mahi Mahi, some orzo, a breadstick (yum) and greek salad, no dessert.  Cheese curls for a snack and then back to the restaurant that I loved on Sat night - had the grouper again, but this time it had more olive oil and I had about 3 (maybe 4?) pieces of bread!!!  Oops.

Wed - Conference bfast at 6:45 am - brought my cereal again and had fruit.  Conference ends around noon and my Dad and Grandmother arrive.  Had lunch out by the pool - had 1/2 of the grilled chicken sandwich with 1/2 the roll and grapes on the side instead of fries.  Walked around the boardwalk later and had salmon grilled with double sauteed veggies on the side (squash and zucchini yuck!).

Thurs - Bfast was cereal again (what a winner that has been).  Went to Epcot, tons of walking.  Had a ginger salad with grilled chicken for lunch in Japan.  Also had some of my gma's soba noodeles - they were too delicious!  Came back, took a nap and here I am.....

All I have left is dinner tonight and bfast tomorrow then I am HOME!!! I can't wait to get home.  I miss my hubby and my doggie!!!  (And of course all of you guys too!)

Week 12, Day 7

Hello from Cloudy Florida :-(

Just wanted to quickly check in...Staying at the Dolphin in Epcot, great hotel, cool area, very nicely done.  Enjoying it a bunch.  Th3 conference has almost 8000 attendees - crazy crowds!!!

Happy to say that I have been ON TRACK so far...Sat night had grouper and roaster veggies for dinner and 1 piece of bread.

Sun - 8am boot camp class - fabulous outdoor workout, sweated like a pig in this FL humidity.  Luckily they provided a healthy fruit, coffee and healthy choices bfast for us so I didn't have to suffer through the buffet.  Best news is that I brought complete start, so I just got a coffee cup, filled it with milk (only had 2%) and dumped my cereal into it - 100% on plan YAAAAY for bfast.  Lunch was a salad, roasted chicken and just a very small portion of baked beans.  Passed up the dessert tray ON the table.  Had my toffee bites in the afternoon.  Hit the spa at 6, had a wonderful (but very overpriced) facial and then went to dinner.  Had grouper again (love grouper, can't get it up north!!) just plain grilled (didn't use the sauce that came on the side) and some kind of fancy schmancy fennel salad on the side.  I did have a piece of organic sunflower bread AND a  piece of onion focaccia - both of which I enjoyed TOTALLY!

Mon - 6:30 am boot camp class - HOO RAH for me!!!  My butt was out there before the damn sun rose this am...Sweated my butt off again and actually won a tshirt for being "most inspirational" - who knew??  Healthy bfast again - fruit, coffee and complete start.  There will be a boxed lunch today - I'll bring cheese curls to replace the chips that I'm sure will be there and toffee bites to replace whatever yummy goodies are in there.  My presentation is at 11:30 am, have a full day and then a dinner event at the Animal Kingdom - I'll probablyhave to just wing that one.

Tues - another 6:30 am class and hopefully more of the same.  I'm so proud of myself.  My gym buddy is here with me and we have been keeping each other out of trouble!

Hope everyone is having a good week and OVERCOMING andy OBSTACLES in their way!!!  Ooh, a nice phrase from the boot camp class - they make us put our hands in and say PRIDE - Personal Responsibility in Daily Effort - love it.  ALso, they say if you take care of the small things, the big things tend to work themselves out!!!  Have a good day everyone!

Week 12, Day 4 and WI

Yeah, so I went to a WI this am since I'll miss Monday's....Down 1.8 since Monday!!   Can you say Wah Hoo????  This puts me at 180.2 - soo close to a new decade, the 170's!  How is that for motivation????

I'm so glad I went before my trip tomorrow, now I have extra motivation...I am feeling great and determined to be in the 170's for my next WI (which won't be until April 10).  This will definitely help me stay focused while I am away.

Ordered a bunch of breakfasts and snacks to take with me, and I am feeling more confident that I will do ok.  I will have 170's singing in my ear!

Did a lot of packing last night....it was such a great feeling to know that my clothes fit and look better than they used to....being able to fit into shorts (ugh shorts) that used to be tight is a great feeling.  I am so thankful that I found JC and here and that I have been making these positive changes...otherwise this trip would have been very emotional - in the BAD way!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Week 12, Day 2

Off to a great start this week. I'm weighing in on Fri am (only 4 days after my Mon weigh in since I'm leaving on Sat) and know that I need to do something to see a loss so soon.

So, last night I took a torturous (in a good way) spin class and this evening it was beautiful so we took the dog to the park for about an hour of hiking - uphills included.  Tomorrow night I'll be getting a manicure and pedicure and beginning the packing ritual.  (Can anyone out there tell that I am an anal Virgo, and I can obsess about the details???)

Friday night we are considering going out to dinner !!! To our favorite Indian restaurant - YUMM its been so long, and since I had a great week and will be away for a week, we just may treat ourselves!  I figure I'll be eating out several times anyway, so why not spend a special night with my hubby too?

I am so excited that a few of you have hit your 1/2 way point this week...that is my next big goal (5 lbs to go) and I think its very exciting.  Great job to everyone!!

Tomorrow is our staff mtg where my new title/job will be announced - it seems like it has taken forever!!!  Hope everyone is having a good week.  (Oh, and don't worry - in case you were- I'll be taking my laptop to FL with me!)

Week 11, Day 7 and WI

Down 1.2 for a total of 21.2! :-)

Spent most of the consult planning my upcoming trip...I'll go back on Friday for a WI and to pick up food for the week since I'll miss my regular Monday WI.

I am planning on taking a bunch of cereal, muffins, cheese curls and other snacks with me to account for bfast and lunch side dishes.  Dinners I'll be mostly on my own, so it will be up to ME to choose wisely and demonstrate portion control.  Ug.  I much prefer leaving it up to Jenny to control my portions.

The good news is that I signed up the the 6:30 am boot camp workouts for the 3 days they are offered, that should help keep me on track.  Having weight and food issues is so pervasive though.  Other times, I would have been thrilled with the prospect of eating whatever the heck I want since I'm away....now I am obsessed with how I am going to make it work!  I should be obsessed with preparing for my presentation and planning my schedule! :-)

OH, and we have a lunch at work on Thursday for someone who is leaving!  Can't these people just let me be and eat my JC lunch at my desk?  Geez :-)

My 1/2 way point is only 5 lbs away! For me, 1/2 way is 177 lbs. It still freaks me out that I let myself go to the point where 177 (higher than my starting weight for any previous weight loss attempts) is only HALFWAY~!  Why is it so so easy to gain???  Anyway, I have a new mini goal which is to make 1/2 way (5 lbs) by the end of April.  Between the trip and the upcoming holidays, I am ready for the challenge!!  Anyone care to join me?  Come on, its only 5 lbs!

Week 11, Day 6

Got to the gym at 8 for 8:15 spin class, waited until 8:30 for instructor, started spinning on my own for about 15 mins then decided to just sign up for the 9:15 class and do some weights in the meantime.  The "old" me would have walked out of the gym with a huge smile on my face that I had gotten out of a workout!  I was proud that I stuck with it and even though I wound up spending 1/2 the morning in the gym...I NEEDED to get my work out in!!

I only did 2 spinning classes this week (boo me!) and we had an affair on my husband's side yesterday and it was catered deliciously.  I had a small portion of veal, ziti and salad.  Then I split a small canolli for dessert - heavenly!!

Its so funny that even while eating delicious catered or fancy food, I find myself prefering my JC food - wishing that I was eating JC instead.  I guess its the control freak in me likes to maintain control of the situation and not deviate from the plan that is working so well.

Not sure how the WI will go tomorrow, I think I'm kinda due for just an "ok" week as I've had a few big losses back to back.

Work is going to be tough tomorrow (even with the new promotion). I work for one of the schools who was supposed to advance to the final four and they got knocked out this weekend.  Darn, so disappointing, and everyone will be in a downer mood!

SO, have my WI and consult tomorrow and then going back on friday am to WI again and get prepared for my big trip, which starts next Saturday.

Hope everyone has a great week and thank you all so much for your comments and support!

Week 11, Day 4

Its OFFICIAL...I am now the Asst. Director of HR!  :-)  Woo Hoo!

Haven't made it to the gym yet this week, but plan to have a date there tonight and then spin on Sat and Sun am.  Our office had a luncheon today and I brought my JC food.  Tomorrow we are going to a family affair where delicious food is expected...I'll do my best to restrain myself to appropriate portions!

Have been feeling a little hungry this week, eating my snack sometimes before dinner or immediately after.  I also have been favoring the cheese curls and popcorn over the cakes and sweets!  Weird, huh?  I think its because it seems like so much more food.  Also, FF jello's after dinner have been helping, especially on the nights that I don't have a sweet JC snack.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

Week 11, Day 3

Thanks to everyone for all the comments to my last post (and all of my posts for that matter).  Like so many others have said, I truly appreciate and LOVE all the support and camaraderie on this site and love seeing emails telling me I have a new message.

We are all in this thing together, and its so nice to have others who know exactly where we are coming from, what we are experiencing and how hard it can be!  Mwah to you all!!

I haven't gotten to spinning class yet this week but may be able to make it tonight.  Its been a crazy week.  Lots of good though.

I got my new sneakers and I love them...I got them from sierratradingpost.com, they were $120 sneakers and I got them for $49!!!!  Love a bargain.   Also got my 20 lb goal reward of an mp3 player.  I bought a Sony that has an fm tuner, 700 songs and a great battery life.  Its the size of a lighter, pretty darn cool!!!  I am a tech geek of sorts and I just have never been an apple fan, so I decided to buck the ipod trend!  I just love it though, its so cool, makes me want to move :-)

As far as work goes, I am in final salary negotiations to be the Assistant Director of Human Resources for the University I work for.  I'm currently an Administrator so this is a great, and well deserved :-) promotion.  But, I am not going to let them get me cheap - Show me the $$$!!

Business trip starts next Saturday, looking forward to Orlando, hopefully the weather will be nice and warm.  Have a consultation with JC on Friday before I go to try to make some sense of how the heck I will plan to eat sensibly while away.

So, I'd love to pass on all my positive vibes to everyone else this week.  Its been a good week for me and the support from this site definitely contributes to some of this!!
