Week 27, Day 7 and WI
The weight loss gods were kind to me today - I was down 2.6 lbs bringing me to my new low, 161.4 :-)
This felt great and was quite a shock considering my lack of exercise due to a cold and a few indescretions. I think that my previous week of kick ass workouts really came into play to help even out the scale this time. I've found that this sometimes happens - on a week when I workout like a dog, I end up gaining but then having a nice loss the next week.
So, I have to get myself back on track this week. I'm not comfortable with so many meals and snacks on my own yet. I have dinner with a friend on Weds night and we'll be attending a puppy picnic at our breeder's on Sat. Other than that, Ihave to stick to it and pick back up my activity level.
I'm feeling so proud of my loss and can't believe that I within 1.5 lbs of the 150s. The last time I was there was when I got married - May, 2003!!

Week 27, Day 6
Well, it looks like I've strung together 2 pretty bad weeks :-(
After my 1.2 lb gain last week, I vowed to get back on track. Mon - thurs go pretty well - 1 spin class (since I was missing Thurs this week) and a 20 min jog with the dog. Eating on plan.
Thurs and Fri - had plans to go down to the shore to spend some time with my 2 best friends from college. Had wine and cheese on Thursday night. Woke up on Fri, took a long walk/jog (4.5 miles) on the boardwalk. 1 nice sized multi grain blueberry pancake for breakfast, then for lunch had a chicken sandwich, some cole slaw more than a few bagel crisps with tuna salad :-( and just some other assorted munchies. Had some fruit and a latte later. Got home and had just fruit for dinner.
All this time, I had a sore throat and had been feeling like I was coming down withsomething. By the time I get home on Fri, I am beat, go to sleep at 9pm and take Nyquil. Set my alarm for my spin class on Sat - no way. I'm sick. Full fledged cold - lay in bed the entire day and can't do a thing. Eat well though :-)
Sun, same thing, too weak to attempt spin class. Ugh, I had planned on getting in 3 classes between sat and sun, especially with my indescretions! Eat ok today and not that hungry later, by 8pm or so, was just going to do fruit again and maybe a muffin or something lite. THen, DH suggests pizza - he had been working all day around the house and its been SO SO long. SO, I had pizza - 3 smallish thin slices. Yummy delicious.
Scale had looked ok until this evening. I guess the moral of this story is going to be that if I want to enjoy some off plan yummies, I have to be prepared to face the scale on Monday!
Between being sick, missing my spin classes and the extra food, I'm feeling slightly out of control and like it is important for me to get back on track this week!

Week 26, Day 7 and WI
Ok, so who guessed a gain of 1.2 lbs?
Not so bad, all things considered. Another good wake up call to get back with the program (literally!). For all the extra food I ate, and ENJOYED, 1.2 lbs I think is a pretty fair trade.
So, I'll plan to have a mostly on plan week - heading down the shore Thursday and Friday which could be my only obstacles - but I'll take food with me and choose wisely.
Also, I'll make sure to get in my 3-4 spin classes and stay active. Bummed that I am now under 40 lbs lost again, oh well, its a good goal to get back there next week!

Week 26, Day 6
Wow, what a week. WI will be very interesting tomorrow. I'm willing to take bets on where people think I will land come tomorrow...
Here's the deal: (Warning lots of FOOD talk below!)
Workouts - Kicked ass this week. 5 Spin classes, 1 5 mile walk, 1 20 min jog, 1 40 min dog walk - that's every damn day (2 spin classes today)
Food - Here's where it can get interesting.
4th of July - We had a bbq - I had about 4 or 5 ribs, a few bites of chicken breast, 1/2 a Nathan's hotdog (oh my yummy!), some baked beans, a cob of corn and some tomato salad. Not too too bad, ate light the rest of the day. Scale looked fine - if this was all for this week, I'd be fine.
Went to a Phillies game with DH and his family on Friday night - amazing fireworks. the new stadium is known as much for baseball as for the enormous selection of delicious foods. I prepared by doing the extra spin class on Friday morning. Think I did pretty well overall. Could have been MUCH worse. Had about 4-5 bites of a roasted pork sandwich - no cheese. Had almost an entire container of crab fries (french fries with old bay seasoning). It was crazy - I just couldn't stop eating the fries, they were so delicious! Then, I had a yummy turkeyhill soft serve ice cream cone.
Scale looked good still in the am on Sat.
Ate well on Sat - tried to drink a TON of water to account for all the salt in the fries on Friday. Was at the mall bathing suit shopping (another post in itself) and DH had to have TCBY - so I had a small. So, for dinner, just had the tortellini lunch - only 150 cals.
Today - went to a friend''s pool for sun and a homecooked italian dinner. Had 3/4 of one meatball, 3 cheese ravioli, fresh moz and tomato salad, small piece of bread. Then, a ton of fruit for dessert AND a nice slice of the most delicious Jewish Apple Cake I have ever had.
Tonight - the scale shows a 4 or 5 lb gain :-( I KNOW that I stuffed full of fruit though and figure it will be down again in the am.
I guess there are 2 ways to look at my yummy week (must say I really enjoyed all my choices and consciously chose to eat each and every one). If I gain - its not a big deal, I got to indulge and I'll make up for it next week. If I lose - I sure did work out alot and perhaps I didn't do too too bad considering I don't really eat any meals on my own anyway.
I think I will be fine with either, sometimes its more important to just live in themoment and enjoy - just have to now reign it back in quickly!

Week 25 WI and Week 26 Day 2
Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July holiday!
Had my WI on Monday, down 1.8 (yippee!). Even more exciting, is that now I have officially lost 40 lbs. 40 lbs - WOW that is alot! I feel fantastic, look pretty good too and am just thrilled. I tried on an old tankini and was amazed by how different my body looks - Last year I could barely squeeze into it, now it fits much differently - the bottoms are even loose. As someone who has ALWAYS had a big ass, this is a completely new feeling for me.
I've so been enjoying rediscovering old shorts and clothes in my drawers - I'm not sure that there are too many things that feel better than finally fitting back into something old!
Last week, I did do 4 spin classes and a few dog walks. I also tried a few of those new meals - to those who wrote and commented on how I hadn't tried everything yet - I wasn't kidding when I said I can easily get into a rut and eat the same things over and over! I'm happy to now add the broc and cheese potato, florentine ravioli into my weekly menu. Fish and chips were ok, obviously the 5 fries were laughable, I wouldn't order this again regularly, but it was a nice change. Haven't tried the tortellini yet. I feel renewed with my dishes, and of course the new burrito which I have been eating a few times a week covered in salsa!
I can't believe I only have 13 or so lbs to go. Its been quite a journey and I am still keeping on keeping on!!!

Week 24, Day 7 and WI
Wow, I can't believe a week has passed! We have been home with the new puppy and she is doing great! She is so smart, has not had a single accident in the house, and sleeps through the night in her crate. A dream pup!
I had a great week of workouts - 6 mile walk on tues with my Mom, Spinning classes on Thursday, Saturday (2 in a row!!!), Sunday and this morning since I'm still off.
Last week, DH and I went to an Indian buffet for lunch - yummy! And, we took the pups to the shore this weekend to play in the sand and we split a Dino's italian hoagie (anyone familiar withthe NJ Shore should know what a delicacy this was!).
Was down .6 at WI...after last weeks big loss, I'm very happy with this! Only 14 lbs to go and so close to having lost 40 lbs! Feeling great, trying some new foods this week too. Just had the florentine ravioli for dinner which was very good! Per my consultants suggestions, I'm also trying the brocolli and cheese potato, spinach tortelini and fish-n-chips this week. Variety is always good!
How is everyone doing? What things are you doing to include a little variety in your eating? I'd love to hear some other ideas!

Week 23, Day 7 and WI
Check out my stats :-) I had a complete surprise at WI tonight - down 3.8 lbs!!!! I can't really say what I might have done differently but I'll take it! The best I can figure is that I have been really working out hard and trying to stay on plan as best as I can everyday - trying not to eat 2 snacks in a day or extras.
So, now I am down 38 lbs - almost 40 lbs!! this is the most weight I have ever lost - which is great but also kind of a strange thing - obviously if I didn't GAIN so much weight, I wouldn't have had so much to lose! But, regardless, I am very proud of myself - I feel like my goal (150) is getting so much closer, its the next decade!! I would like to be at my goal weight by my birthday, which is Sept 11 (I know, what a day.). I think that is totally reachable!
We did go out to Indian (shocking I know) on Friday and I really ate alot! The first time in so long I felt uncomfortably full at the end of the meal...we were very hungry so we had 2 appetizers and then after dinner, the owner brought us out some special ice cream he had just made - ginger flavor - it was so unusual but delicious!
In much BIGGER news, Diva is home and has already worked her way DEEP into our hearts! She is the sweetest pup - 8 week old German Shepherd. She is so confident and full of personality - her and Buddy, our 2 yo Golden Retriever are getting along great! She has been sleeping quietly in her crate, no crying all night long and has been going outside very consistently - no accidents yet! I don't know if this will work, but here's a link to my webshots page with her pics - I tend to take a million pics, so if you want to see weekly puppy pics, I'll have 'em! http://community.webshots.com/album/551496923ndJwFL
I'm off most of this week and next with the new pup, so I'll check in when i can. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Week 23, Day 2
So, has anyone else had the new SW Chicken burrito yet? I had it for lunch yesterday and it was YUMMY! It looked a bit small but was totally satisfying! So glad I ordered 4 :-)
Since we are getting the new puppy on Saturday, and I'll miss spinning class, I went last night. I'll do Tues, Thurs and Sun this week. DH wants to do a gym date on Friday night, but I want to convince him we should go out for a "calm before the new puppy storm" dinner - Indian food of course!
If I haven't mentioned it yet, I love JC! Love it for being able to accomodate me and provide me with pre-prepared and portioned meals that I haven't yet gotten sick of...that have helped me to lose 34 lbs and get back to myself. I feel so much better now about myself. I don't dread the mirror or social occassions like I used to. I even dreaded going to work and thinking that everyone was noticing how tight my clothes were getting. JC has given me back some of the freedom and confidence that I had lost on my way up the scale past 200lbs!!!
Hope you are all having a great week!

Week 22 WI
Down 1.2 - back in the 160s and 34 lbs lost, less than 20 to go!
Feels good, I don't mind the occassional gain week as long as the scale goes back down lower than where I started. I know its all part of the process.
I like the fact that I had a few meals out this week and still had a loss - it gives me more confidence in being able to keep this up for the long term! I've been on JC now for 5 months and still going strong!
Its another beautiful night. Going to go take Buddy for a nice walk.
Back from my walk - it turned into about 1/2 a jog :-) Also, meant to mention...did anyone else know JC now has a burrito?? I got 4 of them! Its a SW Chicken burrito - I tend to like the SW foods, so I'm hoping I really like these - a new lunch would be great! Icon - I know you like SW as well, have you seen these?

Week 22, Day 7
Ok, I've done it...posted a workout clothes pic - twink, where's yours????? As I said in the caption, I don't really like the pic and think I look better in person - but I'm being brave. Personally I don't see much difference between that and the "before" pic but I KNOW there is a huge difference! I was trying to avoid the "he-man" pose, but maybe that would have looked more flattering? :-)
Scale at home looks down a little, lets hope it translates on the JC scale tonight!
