I just found the best kept secret in SF and I'm not going to tell any of you! But, I will tell you that I had a GREAT swim this morning and I think I'm really going to enjoy my pool workouts for the next nine weeks. YAY!
I decided to go pretty slow since I haven't been swimming in a long time (read: over a year). I knew I had to swim for almost an hour and that I should work hard to not burn myself out. I ended up swimming 1320m, which is about 0.82 miles in 55 minutes. Ok ok...SLOW. But, I did 12 ful laps of free stroke and 5 laps of crawl and 5 laps of backstroke. It's a good amount to work up from and I need to swim 1500m for the race or 25 laps -- only three more than I did today. Granted, I'll want to do it a lot faster than 55 minutes, but I'm sure I can.
I am officially at a plateau with weight loss and none too happy for it. Im hoping the addition of swimming and biking to my routine and changing up my workouts will help me break it. If I don't lose anything by next weekend though, I don't know what I'm going to do. Over a month of this and my head just might explode.
Hope everyone is doing well! Happy almost Friday

take measurements
When I'm stuck at a plateau I usually take my measurements and see that even though I'm not losing pounds, I'm still losing inches. Don't worry too much about plateaus. Unfortunately, they are a normal part of the weight loss process.
Great job on your swimming! I'm an awful swimmer, but I do enjoy it. Ok, well, mostly I just enjoy playing in the pool. Which is why water aerobics is perfect for me. :)
Hope it works for you - I haven't plateau'd yet, but I'm sure I will! I agree with weeble about measurements, I tend to do this once every four weeks or when I haven't lost as much as I'd like.
Best kept secret in SF?? And you're not telling?Kudos on the swimming! I suck at swimming. Its a good thing I have my own pool so no one can laugh at the girl going crooked and practically drowning as she comes up for breath!! Seriously, I'm dying after about 10 minutes!!! Good for you for getting back in the pool after a year has gone by. Tell me the secret! LOL
Oh, my trip to Napa was good, thanx! Not nearly enough wine, though! Theres always next time!
