Week 5 progress report

Well, week five of c25k is going well! I completed day 1 (3 x 5mins) comfortably, but still repeated it. Today was a bit harder (2 x 8mins) though, the last 3 minutes were hard, but the last minute was a killer!!!! I even uncovered the timer to keep me going! Now the debate is on for whether I go straight on to day 3 (1 x 20mins), or repeat day 2 and go for day three on Monday.

My Nike plus site is expanding. It now has four days on it, much more repsectable! I have even joined up for a challenge, the first to get to 25 miles, its a beginners one so its not so bad!

I have been suffering a bit the last few days, my left leg to be precise. From what is called shin splints apparently. I didn't run yesterday to rest it, but I am still feeling it. Oh well, we'll see how it goes!

Hello Tiger!

I did my run today before hitting the pool, and I had Tiger Woods tell me I had just run my fastest mile so far! How cool is that???

I am back on track WW wise as of today, the crack down is on! It looks like we have a family "do"  at the beginning of May so I need to be strong! I want to be as slim as I can be!!!!

How did I forget...

...to tell you?

My Nike gear arrived on Thursday. I used it on Friday and then again today, so I have two runs on my nike page!

I think its going to be really helpful and very informative once I get into the realms of a single time run (kwim?) I am on week 5 now, and day three is a single run of 20 minutes, so we will see then!

Bad Weekend

oooops, I did it again! It was dh's birthday on Friday, and the weekend was taken up with naughty treats. oh dear! :(

will power = 0

I have even been bad today, I had the last slice of birthday cake!

On the plus side though, I went to the gym as usual this morning. I stepped it up to C25K's week 5 day 1. It was three lots of five minute runs seperated by 3 mins walking. It went well, and I finished it so I am rather pleased.

and again!

Yep, I managed it again. It was a little harder today as I forgot to eat before I went, so I felt a little drained.

I am so excited today, my Nike gear should be arriving!

I did it!!!!!!!!

I finally completed a week 4 workout!!!!

I hadn't been to the gym since Good Friday, so I was sceptical about getting to the last set even, but maybe the rest did me some good. I know by Friday I am normally tired and looking forward to the rest over the weekend. I covered the screen again, and on the last set peeked at the time so I would know how long I had gone for in the last five minute set, and when I felt that I was tiring I uncovered the screen and saw I was just a few seconds away from the four minute mark. So, I thought I'd give it a go and try to complete the full five minutes. And I did it!!!!!  I am so proud of myself!

One thing I am not so proud of the weight gain over the weekend, but hey thats life. We went out for a Chinese on Good Friday, I ate as well as I could as it was a buffet. I steered clear of all the fried food like spring rolls and wings, but I guess the oil still racks up points, and its on everything. I only had a spoonful of rice but it was greasy. Then we went to a Pub for dinner on Easter Sunday when Mum and Dad came up to stay. I did have the soup for starter, and trust me it was very watered down, and definately no cream in there! But I did fail at the main course. I had gammon pieces in a lovely sauce on mash with cheese! Whoops a daisy! No one had desserts which was a life saver. Then yesterday, Easter Monday, I ate my easter egg, or lamb as the case may be! Lovely chocolate! So overall its probably a miracle I only gained just over a kilo!

Nearly there!

I reached 3,5,3,4 today, its getting better!!!!

I didn't match yesterdays rowing, but I really was going hell for leather then, I reached a respectable 3920.

I am now down 12 kilos!!!!! whoop whoop!!!

Oh, and I added weights to my elliptical set, 1.5kg weights, hopefully they will help a little with my bingo wings.

keep on running

I took my towel to the gym today, and put it over the treadmill monitor like I used to do. It makes it so much easier! I managed the three minute sets with ease, I was even suprised on the 2nd one that two mins had elapsed let alone three. I did the five min run with ease too, although the second one was a bit more hard work. I managed 3.5 minutes today on the last set. I covered the monitor up again, and kept going as long as I could, and uncovered at just over 3 mins so I kept going until the half minute to round it up. I think I could even have gone a bit longer, but thought that I should save that for tomorrow! Silly girl!

I bought a couple of pairs of gym capris last night at the supermarket of all places. They are ok, but I'll keep them on hand until I loose a little bit more weight. But I am not depressed as they are size 18.

I also hit another record on the rower, I went to 4006m, wooohoooo!!! First time over 4k!

Great workout day

I had a really great workout today, and feel buzzed from it!

I progressed with my run, and had an all time best on the rowing machine too!

I managed 3,5,3,2.5 on the treadmill, thats 30 seconds better than yesterday. If I keep that up then I'll soon be doing the last full five minutes. On the rower I did 3918m, I kept my stroke more even and more powerful and got into a rythum of 100m per 30 seconds.

Personal Best

I did week 4 again today, and although I still didn't complete the routine, I did my personal best so far.

I did 3, 5, 3 and 2. So I completed three of four sets. Not bad. I'll keep level 4 up now unitl I get more comfortable with it. If I can finish the routine by friday, I'll keep it going for another week as level five will be just as bad.

The new sports bra is a god send, its great. Comfort is everything when doing this! I am going shopping at the weekend for new trainers and gym trousers which will be good. I am thinking of treating myself and getting the nike sports kit, which means I'll have to get nike trainers, but it will great to see how I am coming on with my running. I think I'll also get a few more pairs of trainer socks, I have to donate a couple of pairs to the garbage bin! :)
