The good was my session at the gym this morning. I did ten minutes on the bike, then walked half a mile to warm up. Then I jogged a whole 5 kilometers straight out. I haven't actually done that since the Race for Life last month. I was a seriously sweaty betty after that, but I felt so damn good! I even sprinted the last 0.2 miles at 6mph.
The bad, was the chocolate bar I ate last night. Enough said.
The ugly, well I guess that would be the breakfast I just had. It was wasn't that it was overly fatty, but still high in WW points.
Oh well. Ce la vie.
Now i am going to relax for the rest of my sunday. I haven't done that for quite some time. We are going to try and have a bbq later on. However I'm not sure that the weather is going to comply. I can see a bit of black sky from where I am sitting.
Oh well. Ce la vie.
I am going to do a bit of surfing to find a good training plan, but I do think I will simply up my distance every week. If I aim to increase it by even a quarter of a mile a week I will be prepared my the race. I do need to find a site to do some outside work though. I was thinking of looking for a seaside route like one of the gym instructors said he did.
...I had a really good time at the gym today. I felt energized from the start. Such a difference from yesterday. Even when I was half way through my jog I got a second wind, as if I had new batteries stuck up my butt!
Treadmill: 3.10 miles overall, 0.50 walking at 3% & 3.4mph, then jogging at 4.5mph until I hit 2.80miles when I cranked it up to 5.5mph, then at 2.90miles I cranked it up again to 6.5mph. I was a mess afterwards, but I recovered my breathing really quickly.
Rowing: 3km, but I'm not sure of the time. It said 17mins exactly when I finished, but I stopped twice to change podcast.
Elliptical: just the usual, 15 ins @level 4, averaging around the 145-150rpm.
Floor work: I did 350 sit ups, really working my stomach muscle by stretching that little bit further. Then about 5 minutes of stretching out my leg muscles.
I have been thinking, I may add just 5 minutes of bike work to my routine. I haven't been using the bike at home lately, so I probably should. I might go down to see the family next week as I have no overtime at work, and if mum is still up for it, I will take her bike. Then I can cyle to the gym, not only will it be good for me, but it'll save diesel too.
...after going fine for the first mile and a half, it then chose to keep changing the speed all on its own! One second I was jogging along at 4.5mph as normal, and then I was walking and then running at god knows what speed! It made it interesting I guess.....
Anyway, I quickly jumped on the next one, and kept going. I jogged for 2.6miles, and walked for 0.5 at the start, so an overall 5km as usual. Then I rowed 3km, on the elliptical for 15 minutes on level 4 and 300 sit ups.
Treadmill: 0.25 walking @ 3.4mph, 1.5 miles @ 4.6 mph, 0.25miles @ 3.4mph, 0.5 miles@ 4.6mph, then I can't remember what I did, but I think I walked for a minute or two, then pumped it up to 6mph for the last bit, I know I did 0.20miles @ 6mph at the end though.
Rower: 3km in 16.02
Elliptical: 15 minutes at between 146 and 152 rpm
Floor work: I think it was 350 sit ups, but I'm not 100% sure, so it could be 300.
I am really sweaty, and I honk, but I am debating whether to dig the garden before I have a shower. I have a BIG flower bed to make!
Treadmill: walked 1 mile @ 3.4, jogged 1 mile @ 4.6, walked 0.5 mile @ 3.4, then Fartlek between 4.6mph and 6mph!!!! I was wringing wet by the end of it, but it felt so good afterwards!
Rowing: the normal 3k, it was a few seconds slower than usual, but after that run, hey I don't give a hoot!
Elliptical: 15 minutes, level 4, around the 140rpm zone
Floor Work: 250 sit ups and stretching to cool down,
Then today....
Treadmill: I got talking to one of the instructors, so I ended up walking the while 3.10 miles, but it is SO HOT today, so it may not be such a bad thing, and their ac sucks!
Rowing: I went at it full pelt! I did my 3k in under 16 minutes!
Ellliptical: I sped up, and my minimum was 150rpm on level 4. I even went as high as 184rpm, but couldn't maintain it for a 3 minute set.
Floor Work: I did 300 sit ups!
Now...I am off to mow the grass! Fun! But more calories burned!
Well, I didn't stick to the calorie counting, its just too flamin difficult! You have to account for every little bit of lettuce!
However, I swapped over to the old faithful WW plan halfway through the day, and I am even short on my points tonight.
I haven't stuck to my no soda plan either, that was thanks to my darling hubby. He is out of coke and thought he'd try one of mine diet ones, but didn't like it. Men!
Just got back from the gym, and todays session was pretty good. I pushed myself on the treadmill again, and even did some "fartlek"!!!
Treadmill: 1mile walking @ 3.4mph, 1 mile jogging @ 4.4mph, 0.5 mile @ 3.4mph, then the fartlek began....0.1m @ 4.4, 0.10m @ 5.5mph, and repeated it for 0.60miles, another grand total of 3.10 miles.
Rowing Machine: 3 kilometers as usual, I did it in 16m05s
Elliptical: 15 minutes on level 4, alternating direction every 3 minutes.
This time I am plain old calorie counting. I know WW inside out, and I find it boring, so maybe this will make it a little more inspiring. I will be looking at food slightly differently.
I think I may post what I have been eating, that way I may have a little more accountability. You never know, it may work better than my current habit of starting the day with good intentions, then giving up after lunch and hiding my journal away on the kitchen window sill.
So far I have had 50g cereal and 100ml semi skimmed milk, a total of 209 calories.
