8 minutes!!!!
I ran for 8 minutes today on the treadmill!!!
And I ran 1.12 overall, so things are improving! My rowing distance lowered, but I guess I can live with that, and it was only a matter of a few meters short.
I had a chat with Tony, one of the instructors afterwards, I told him I was doing the race for life in june and how I am doing with my training. He gave me a few tips, including stop putting the incline down when I run. He told me that it will be more accurate, and no road is a perfect 0%. He also told me to aim for 6Kms in my training, he said as a marathon runner, he could do more than the set distance as you bob and weave around. The most important two pieces of info were, one, try walking in the pool to build up the strength in my knees, because of my weight it will help as for every 1lb of weight I carry, its actually 3lb on my knees when I run. And two, maybe start running outside for a bit of variety. He told me that the gyms front door to the end of the hall's driveway and back is exactly 1 mile, so maybe I will have a go at that one day.
Food wise, another set back last night. C suprised me and came home a day early from work, which for great as of course it was St. Valentines, but it did put dinner plans in a spin. We had a drink at the pub, and because dinner would be at least an hour to cook, we got fish and chips........Not good. So overall, I have had a really bad week. I need to give myself a slap, literally and stop this stupid behaviour. Its going to spiral out of control if I dont.
