Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days. I am back and better than ever! =]
I feel so good! I got my appointment with the cardiologist for April 13th. I know it's a ways a way but I also work with the guy so since I do have questions I've just been asking him when I see him at work. I'm being so weird about what I eat just because I am so nervous that I might go back into SVT's again.
Anyway, things are great. It does look like I am in the 70's but since i was sick and all I am not counting it as true just yet. I want to wait another week and make sure that the scale still says that.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!

I'm back!

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for my absence lately. It has been a crazy week. After having strep throat, on Tuesday, I started having runs of SVT's. ( Supra ventricular Tachycardia) My heart rate got up to 200 and wouldn't come back to normal until 2 hours of it. An ambulance was called, they started an I.V. on me and gave me some adenosine. My heart rate went down to 120 but my blood pressure was 160/120. This isn't the first time it's happened but it's the first time they were able to catch it on an EKG. So, I have an appointment with a cardiologist. He's a Dr. that I work with, I totally trust him and feel very safe with him. In the mean time, no more running for a little while. I can still exercise but it has to be low impact and I can't try and get to max heart rate right now. I've just been taking it easy.  =[ I had to quit the relay team and I am on a very strict diet of no caffeine, low sodium etc. So just just wanted to give everyone an update =] Don't worry, I'm not going to quit blogging. It';s just been kind of crazy the last few days. =]

Good Morning!!

I feel sooo much better. My throat is still sore but I am feeling a lot better. I think the antibiotics have kicked in and the rest did wonders for me. I still don't think I'm going to try exercising just yet. Maybe I will try it in a couple days if I'm still feeling pretty good. Welp, my hubby went on a business trip to New Orleans and won't be back until Monday! I'm going to be all alone for the rest of the week. Thank goodness I've got some awesome friends to keep me company!  As far as my diet goes I've mainly just been eating soups. I'm still not ready for anything really hard just yet. We found a replacement for the relay team so I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. It's a wife of co-worker of my husbands. I'm sure she will do great. I just want us to finish it in the amount of time we are given haha

bad news

Just found out that one of the runners on our relay team has decided not to run. This isn't good. We only less than 3 weeks to find a replacement. It;s kind of hard to find someone who can run 6.2 miles in under an hour. haha Luckily, I do know a few runners. I think we might be able to fill it. I already asked one person and they are already running the half marathon. I've still got about 4 or 5 people I can ask. Here's hoping we can fill it!!

Even though I am sick today has still been a pretty good day! I got tulips from my husband for valentines day! I do love valentines day! It always puts a smile on my face! =] Hope you guys are having a great valentines day! =]

So I went to the Dr. today and I have strep throat =[ I'm on antibiotics and I'm just resting and trying to take it easy. Just wanted to check in with you guys and let you know what's up! =]

sick

good morning friends! This will be short. I'm going to head back to bed. I am very sick today. fever of 101 and throat is just killing me. Surprisingly though I have stayed on plan with eating haha No exercise for me though till i'm better.

Good Morning

I am a little under the weather this morning. Stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, the works, but it's not too bad. I'm hoping it's just sinuses. I ended up only running 1 mile last night because I realized that if I were to stay and run 5 miles I wouldn't get to leave work until after midnight. So, I just did a quick mile run in my scrubs. It's better than nothing I guess. I guess I'll start the 5 mile runs on Monday. I also think I should try and rest the next few days since i"m sick. Still have to go to work though. Since we are under inclement weather, if we don't come to work we get written up. I had a fever last night but I don't this morning which is good. Last night I started having flu like symptoms. Eeekkk! I hope it's nothing! 

I always had some chicken noodle soup last night when I came home.
I'm trying to stay on my diet since I'm sick but I find myself not hungry of course. 
I haven't had breakfast yet but I just woke up. So, there's still time. Well, I'm going to go lay on the couch and cuddle with the puppies before work. Hope you guys have a good one! =] 

People who are jealous of your weightloss

I have recently encountered this. It's very frustrating because before when I was a lot heavier this person kind of used me as a crutch I think to make themselves look better in a group. Now that I have lost a lot of weight they are different towards me and according to them it's almost like a competition between the two of us. I never set out to compete against anyone. I'm not trying to be better than anyone. All I wanted was to lose weight and feel good about myself. I hate it when people have a problem with that.

Has anyone else encountered this? 

night time cravings

I am writing this blog in regards to a problem I have been having almost every single night. Shortly after dinner, around 6pm until I go to bed I just crave food! It's nuts! I mainly crave carbs ( breads, chips) I try to eat something like a piece of turkey or a stick of cheese to subside the cravings, but it still makes me go nuts! I drink lots of water hoping that will do the trick. It does, until I pee all of the water out haha I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem, if so, got any tips?

Breakfast this morning I just had a whey protein shake with skim milk. 140 calories and 27grams of protein.
Going to start running my 5 miles today to train for the marathon relay.

BMR

Ok I just figured out exactly how many calories I should be eating and not eating if I want to lose 2 lbs a week. 


First you calculate your BMR ( Basal Metabolic Rate) This is just the amount of energy your body needs to function, breath, sleep, when your heart beats etc. 
Here's the formula to do that: 

women: 655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 + height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)

Men: 66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + 12.9 x height in inches)- (6.8 x age in years) 

Mine came out to be 1,620. After that you figure how active you are.
  • If you are sedentary : BMR x 20 percent
  • If you are lightly active: BMR x 30 percent
  • If you are moderately active (You exercise most days a week.): BMR x 40 percent

  • If you are very active (You exercise intensely on a daily basis or for prolonged periods.): BMR x 50 percent
  • If you are extra active (You do hard labor or are in athletic training.): BMR x 60 percent
After that you take that number and add it to your BMR, So mine would be 1620 x 50 percent since i am very active! This equals out to 2430. This is the number of calories I can eat everyday and maintain my current weight. I should take away calories in order to lose weight.
