Before After

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND !

It started off with a Dance Fit class at 9am on Saturday. It's such good fun, the trainer is a dead ringer for my son, but you wouldn't get my son taking a room full of woman (and one bloke - bless) for an hours worth of dance class

Once he'd taught us the routine, he then explained that we would be dancing to a Christina Aguilera track which has a short intro, so during the intro he got us doing all these sexy, seductive moves ready to go straight into the routine.

It was so funny, there is no other place you'd get me doing something like that

Then I shot off to pick Harry-J up.  Once grumpy grandad went off to golf the heavens opened, and Nana did her best not to laugh out loud  Then the pair of us went to visit my sister and my 2 nephews.  It was great to see the boys all together.  We have my nephew, 'big' Harry, he's 8, my grandson 'little' Harry (otherwise known as Harry-J) he's 17 months, and my little nephew Albie who had his first birthday on March 31st.  This is where the dare I set on Friday went out the window - well what do you expect being left with 2 under 2s  There was no surprise a bottle of vino found it's way out the fridge was there ??

When the OH's got back from golf, grandad wasn't so grumpy, which we were all pleased about  and then I dished up chicken fahita's - yum yum

H-J had a lovely time with his cousins, and once we got home he went straight to bed no problem.  So I was right in with-holding that information after all

We woke up this morning to about 6" of snow, it was beautiful !!!

H-J wasn't as impressed as I'd have thought he would be, infact by the time we got the chance to get out side and see what he really thought, it had started to melt away, which turned out to be just what H-J wanted, he wasn't happy at all, and was much more concerned with getting back in the warm.  I made grandad take a photo of us and then my little grandson's wish was granted

After lunch Harry got his things together (OK, I did!) and I took him back to mummy.  She was pleased to see him, and he looked quite upset to see me go, which was sweet.....

Then I set off to accomplish my mission.................

Just as I dared you lot on Friday not to indulge in any alcoholic beverages over the weekend, a 'friend' of mine dared me to do some running

Well, to my amazement (as well as your's no doubt!) I managed FIVE miles !!!!

Yes, '5', that's 1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE !!!!!

I will now be honest and explain how I achieved it

(No ! I didn't use the car !! )

I did a mile, and found it hard going.  I tend to try to up the speed to 'get it over with' quicker  but it seems, as soon as I start running (on the treadmill) my body thinks it's time to find the nearest loo

I was wondering whether my mind was playing games with me, and the feeling may pass, but it didn't.  So after the first mile I went off to 'powder my nose'  -  my brain wasn't playing games, which I was delighted about

So, back to the treadmill I went.  I then tried to find a more comfortable pace, to try to  ease me into it a little.  5.5 seems to suit me, which is a 10.54 mile.  I did 2 miles in one go, which also works out to approx 100 calories per mile - marvellous

I gave myself another little break by doing some upper body weights, not for too long at all, I wanted to get back on the same treadmill and carry on watching the film Big which was on TV.  So off I went again, and managed another 2 miles

Blimey, I have NEVER run 5 miles in one day before, I was sooooo proud of myself, and so please that my 'friend' dared me like she did

I say the word friend in inverted coma's because what sort of 'friend' would dare you to do something so awful ????  But to be fair, I needed a dare like that to get my mojo back, and it really helped, so THANK YOU FRIEND

OK, time to get the spuds in, if my legs will allow me to get up from the sofa

I hope you managed to achieve something this weekend, even if it was a rotten hang over after a brilliant night out

See you tomorrow, take care

Jxx

sTRUGGLES TO GET..

Up !!

But thanks anyway.

Perhaps if I was fitter this up and down business would be easier !! LOL

Hello!

Sounds like you had a lovely time with the boys - nice to be able to give them back though, I'm sure

Fab achievement at the gym - very impressive!  You're faster than me too, I run at 5.1mph, and I can't even say I'm shorter than you ... I'll have to pick it up a bit!  I had much the same sort of run this morning, the last two weekends, I've had to have a 'comfort break' - or a 'safety wee' as my nephews call it!!

Grin.....

Well done, 5 miles, I'm truly impressed (and a little jealous ). I've never run that far ... ever. The breaking it up worked well .

I, however wasn't so succesful. I did the 2 miles on Saturday but didn't feel in the slightest like it today, so didn't go.

You're right about pace and distance, and I haven't yet worked out what mine is.

Yay!!!!!

What a fantastic run!!!!!!
