Dusting myself Down

Today hasn't been that grand.. but I am dusting myself down and starting over again
I am using tescodiets.com , doing their vegetarian plan and opting for the vegan option.
I have a problem with Saturdays... I go and see my Pet Crumbly - this older person (shes 85) who I have made a pet of - and she is so negative and self-pitying that when I'm out of there I go straight to get myself some sweets. I need to break the habit and reward myself with something non-edible.
I hope that keeping a record here of how I am getting on will motivate me.

Welcome!
Welcome to EP! Definitely learn to reward yourself with something non-edible on Saturdays. How about a manicure or a pedicure? Something that makes you feel pretty. Get your hair done. Your eyebrows. Or if it's a really big splurge day, get a massage. It will make all your efforts worthwhile. You can do it!

Pet Crumbly
I am sorry she is so negative. When people behave that way, it is hard not to let it affect you. You can do it without sweets though. :) Good luck on your weight loss journey and I hope you find EP a useful tool.

Welcome!
And I'm glad you found the Vegan support group! I've been vegan since February, and have recently gone fat-free vegan as well! Obviously we need some fat in our diets, but basically it means I use no added oil or fat. I've gotten some of Dr John McDougall's cookbooks and there are some really yummy recipes in there.
I agree with treating yourself without food -- I love getting manicures and pedicures, so treat yourself that way, or find something you love!

You're headed in the right direction and took an important step. You CAN do this. I know dealing with some seniors is hard. its like they don't want to be happy, no matter what you do for them, but rest assured that she does appreciate that you take the time to see her even if she won't say it. Try to shake off the negativity as best you can and keep your eye on the goal. Have a great day!

Hello and lovely to meet you
I see you belong to some of the same support groups as me....and you're a fellow Brit lol.
Welcome to EP, I have only been here about a month or maybe even less, and it is working so well at keeping me focused and making me feel accountable - if I post on here that I am going to do something, I might not get it exactly right, but I will do a lot better than if my aim is just in my head.
All the best hon,
Rach xxx
