plateau
My consultant called it a plateau.
I call it a I gave up. I quit last Wednesday. I had 2 kids with the flu and a husband who went to Florida on vacation with his dad. I just quit caring about what I ate. I ate whatever I wanted, and it wasn't good. I didn't go to JC on Saturday...I blew it off. And when the smoke cleared, I had gained about 5 pounds. Now, I also was about to start my period, so some of that was probably water weight, but c'mon-- some of it was a big ol' steak and bloomin' onion stuck to my thighs too.
On Monday I lifted my head. I got on the scale for the first time since Wednesday, surveyed the damage, and got busy. I lost it all again by today. Back to where I started.
So, JC says it's a plateau. I say it's a small victory.

Plateaus
If it's a true plateau, the scale does *nothing* not up, not down, no yo-yoing. Just stays in one place for several weeks. So, if you had loss and gain, you are not plateaued. At least according to Curves and WW. But either way, good for you getting yourself back on track and losing that bloomin' onion. Which, OMG I want one so bad (to share with b/f) and looked up the points-value. The whole thing is 59 points so even if I *could* eat half of it, that is my full day's points right there. 30 points. Yuk. I wanna throw up thinking about it LOL! I better go for 1/4 of one if I cave. At least I can manage 15 points some how.
Have a great new week!

Not sure...
I'm with GCQMom and I'm not sure you've hit a true plateau yet. I know the scale hasn't been moving much, but have you checked your measurements lately??
Also, I have found out that my plateau in February was caused by ME! It wasn't that I was eating badly (except for my b-day indulgences), but I was exercising too much. Now that I'm giving my body a couple of days to rest & recover from workouts, the scale is moving again. Go figure - I never would have thought that I could possibly exercise too much!
I'm glad you're getting back on track & hope to read you again soon!!

VICTORY!!!!
Hi!
I have been there so many times! You see something in the fridge that you are not supposed to have and one half of you says, "now do you really need that? think about what you want." and the other half says, "Shut up, I don't care!" and after that caring barrier has been broken its like a full on race to see how much crap I can cram into my body! These are hard to get back from because we are fueling the part of us that doesn't want to change. So I find it extremely impressive that you were able to not let yourself feel defeated when you saw that 5lb increase and you worked through it instead! You look beautiful, keep up the good work!
