Golly! December is Here!!!!

Ok, time for all the heffalumps to run out and buy fancy smancy clothes for the office holiday party. It sure is great that most of the stuff in my size is BLACK!!! Do they think I'm going to a funeral??? No, I am going to party like all those skinny minis that are working as receptionists, assistants, etc. I am that hard working chick in the back that has the wide butt and takes a hand full of pills every day just to drag myself into the office. Man, this high blood pressure and diabetes is killing me! So, that's two of the reasons I am on this lifestyle change. Back to the party- Ok what do I do when I get there? Do I hang out stuffing my face like I did last year or do I become a socialite and chat the evening away while munching on boiled shrimp and vegetables. Sounds like a good idea, huh? Remember, I am beautiful and I am woman, hear me ROAR!!!!!

Calling All Heffalumps!!!!

About 10 years ago my sister in law and I came up with the heffalump club. Last year there was a movie called Heffalump too! Some Disney animation. Anyway ,we have this going joke that to be a heffalump, your rear (backside should be about 24 inches wide. We are a group of fun loving big beautiful women who are constantly talking junk about losing weight. So I am sending a call out to all you heffalump sisters who need support and want to get on this lifestyle change train. If you don't know if you qualify for the heffalump club, here some clues. You might be a heffalump if: Your fries never make it home when you go through a drive through. Your rear end does not fit well in movie theaters, airplane seats. Your clothing size is 2 digits and starts with a 2. You can eat a half gallon of ice cream in one sitting. Your heroes include: Ben and Jerry's; The Cheesecake Factory and Krispy Kreme. There is help and comical relief coming your way. I am a heffalump and proud of it!!!!!! I want to loose weight, but I am HAPPY in my big beautiful skin!!!! Adorned in Plus Size Clothing and loved by my man. So why do I want to lose weight? I want to get rid of Mr. High Blood Pressure and my other enemy Mr. Diabetes. So if you're interested in the heffalump sisterhood. Please comment and answer this question... You might be a haffalump if you............      (P.S.) , we will let you know if you qualify!!!!!!

Lost Weight over Thanksgiving!

Yesterday I went to weigh in. I was expecting a gain. I had ate Thanksgiving dinner and I did treat myself to leftovers 3 days after the fact. However, I lost .8!! I was so excited. I told the counselor that I could have done better if I had stuck to the program. She said well it could be worse, I gained 3 lbs. over Thanksgiving. I FELT REALLY GOOD THEN!!!! I tried to encourage her to get it off, I was playing counselor!!!! She's lost like 60 lbs. I think. She's a cute young thang. My perverted hubby would go gaga over her. Anyway. All this excitement posessed me to go buy a new truck, so I spent 4 hours at the dealership last night. Two things that I hate really bad- Dental work and buying a new car! They hit me with a $900 a month payment in the beginning. I walked out with a $550 payment. I wonder are there people out there who take them up on the first offer. I freaked and went off!!! I even got an upgraded pair of alloys on it. I'm a Toyota kind of girl. Now our family will have 2 Toyota Tundras!!!!! My husband is thrilled to get rid of the little red sportscar, FINALLY. Ok have a great day, STAY on PROGRAM. I committed to walking this week, so if you comment to my blog, please remind me to WALK!!!!!

Survived Thanksgiving Day!

I am so proud of myself!!!! I stayed on program up until lunch! I tried a little bit of everything, but I only had one plate. I drunk at least 4 bottles of water to keep from going back into the kitchen. I fixed turkey, homemade dressing, gravy, deviled eggs, sweet potatoe casserole, green bean casserole, squash casserole and pumpkin pie. I even fixed a gallon of tea. My husband ate like a HOG!!! 2 plates and he was hurting, couldn't eat supper. I ate 5 small cubes of cheese, went to bed, but I had some left overs for breakfast. I put it on a small saucer, so I couldn't have a lot. I did my homework (I'm a 40 year old college senior!) and now I am ready for some S&S , shower and shopping...... I am enjoying this relaxation and I hope you are to. Happy Holiday!!!

Turkey Eve......

Most of you are probably out buying last minute groceries for tomorrow's big feast! I went early this morning so I could avoid the rush. I probably forgot something and will be rushing out in the morning to get something else, but  I've got to share this with you- Laughing Cow cheese has a small box of lowfat cheese cubes and you can eat 5 for 2 g of fat. I've almost ate the whole box. It's good. Put 5 cubes in a ziplock and take them to work with you, they are delicious!!!! Have any of you guys tried it? I'm going to be eating like a horse tomorrow, so I DEFINITELY need to lay off the cheese. No More today. Have a great Turkey Day!

Turkey Day and Cheesecake

Hi ya'll, glad you stopped by, thanks for your encouragement. Today was great, I just finished my last meal with the JC cheesecake. MMMM, excellent. Its a rather small piece, but I savor it by eating it in 8 tiny slices. I like it a little frozen too.... I wish I had more! Anyway, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Will I stay on the plan? Probably not. No, I am not setting myself up for failure. I'll do my best to stay on program, but I am eating the big meal that I am going to cook. My husband said he wants dressing and yams and turkey and green beans. So, you know I can't resist dressing. However, JC has taught me portion control over the last 2 weeks, so I think I might be safe by eating a small amount. We will see! My next JC appt is next Monday, so I had better be good!. I'd love to hear what you guys are doing for Thanksgiving. We might be snowboarding. It is 47 degrees in Jacksonville and they are calling for flurries tonight, but our low will be 36, so I doubt it will stick. Imagine that snow in the sunshine state! I'll be traveling most of the day tomorrow, so if I don't blog before THANKSGIVING, I want to wish you all a happy turkey day and remember the turkey on your table was once another turkey's relative or friend, so be gentle!!!!!

We Ain't Frogs

A special thanks to all of you who regularly drop by. Especially MissV and Steph. We're all gonna make it. I just polished and YES I said polished off the fish and chips meal. OH, it was good with that  malt vinegar all over it!!! Had some Green Giant corn with it. I know, its not on JC program, but it had less carbs than everything else in the kichen that I wasn't sick of yet. I had to have a day off from steamed brocolli!!! I feel like the first Bush, I do not like broccolli. Actually, I do, just not every meal! I had the rising pizza today at lunch, but mine did not rise. I didn't realize that it was a non-microwave meal and needed official "baking". So I had the microwave thin crust version. It was ok, but I wont do it again. I'll save that one for supper and cook it right! (In case you're not southern, thats the 6 pm meal before bed!) The chocolate cake is mmmm good. I'm getting it all over the keys now. When does ice cream show up on my menu ? Ha Ha, not gonna happen. Today was kinda nippy here in Florida. I had to wear my fur coat. It s a strange color of furr, looks a little like a German Shepherd, but I promise you, its synthetic. It kept me warm. By the way, Belvedere is having problems keeping his sweater on. My husband keeps threatening to duck tape it on him, but I wont let that happen to my baby. Pets are so funny, I guess he won't be getting the matching booties. That sweater was $14.99. Thats more than I pay for a shirt for myself sometimes. He really is loved. Well, I've rumbled enough, have a nice evening and remember , it would be nice if we were all like frogs and could eat whatever bugs us, but we ain't frogs........

Celebrate Good Times!!

Weighed in on Friday, should have shared before now, but the weekend has been busy. I lost 1.6 lbs. YAYYYYY!!!! I'll take that. I'm not one who expects 5 lbs a week. This was 1.6 lbs in 4.5 days. The counselor was like disappointed. She said you should have lost more. I told her that I had only been on JC for 4.5 days, so she set my next appt for the Monday after Thanksgiving, so I will get the results of a true week then. I went on a shopping spree last night at Beall's, such a cool store in Tallahassee. Belvedere , aka Rex got a new sweater. He loves it! I really thought Belvedere wouldn't like it, but he has been soooo cold. I was really looking forward to eating the cold start cereal this morning, but he ate it before I could get to it. I sat the bowl down on my coffee table, went to the kitchen, came back and he had turned it over onto my rug. I freaked out. Cleaned it up and I had the tuna salad kit with orange juice instead. I know, sounds yucky for breakfast, but the JC tuna and chicken salad kits ROCK!!!!! It's all about portion control, so of course I was licking the can wishing there was more...... 2.9 oz..... mmmmmm. Have a great day, check out Belvedere's picture in his new sweater.

I Almost Fell Off The Wagon....

Sounds like a personal problem, right? It almost hapened today. I woke up to face day 4. I forgot my menu for week one at the office yesterday. I remembered what I was suppose to have for dinner, but I couldn't remember breakfast for day 4. So I opened the fridge and selected a sunshine. In case you're not a JC'er, its just like an egg mcmuffin except it has no cheese or butter on it. OH yes, I said butter. Years ago I worked at McD's and we rubbed melted butter on each side of the toasted english muffin. JC's version is 5 fat grams and McD's will cost you a whopping 13!!! I do miss their sweet, tea!! I am such a SOUTHERN BELLE. I'll experiment this weekend and I know Turkey Day I'll have to make hubby some , or face endless persecution. I'm getting side tracked, I gotta get back to the wagon story. I had to pick up a colleague at the airport and haul him around all day. I had made up my mind that I wouldn't carry a JC lunch today, I decided early on that I could handle the lunch out, I'd just have a salad with lite dressing. We went to this cute little Italian place. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with lite italian dressing. I chased it down with a diet Coke, was doing real good- until the boss ordered garlic bread in a loaf with maranara. I had 1 piece. He got on to me about it, cause he knows how bad I want to lose this weight. I then told him I was being good. I really wanted lasagna and ranch on my salad with a huge glass of sweet tea. So I did manage to hang on... I'm sure many of you have been there before. I have weigh-in tomorrow, even though its only day 5, I am expecting a 1 or 2 lb loss at least. Wish me luck!!!!

What a Great Day!

I have enjoyed getting all the encouragement emails from all of you guys on this website!! It's great to know that I am not alone on this lifestyle change. Remember the "D" word (DIET) is not allowed any more!!! I was online looking at our employee directory and I was thinking , wouldn't it be so cool if I lost so much weight that I had to ask them to retake my picture because no one recognized me? A goal to achieve, what do ya think? I know its only day 3, but I am liking this JC program. I do not have to think about what to eat. I just follow the sheet. The turkey burger was good! I have been missing all my bread!!! The next time I have it, I am going to doctor it up a bit. Maybe some ketchup, al ittle pickle. I can't believe I didn't miss the mayonnaise! I was missing it when I had the banana. I love to take them and dip them straight into the jar. Sound like a heart attack waiting to happen!!! I was amazed this morning, I was listening to a local radio station and they had a trivia question that I'm just dying to share with all yuns. They wanted to know what food made up the largest percentage of body fat in females 20-40. The answer was not chocolate!!!! It was salad dressing!! Wow!! So all you young gals (I'm 40) sucking down those salads with the REAL dressing on them, take note, that may be what's causing that bubble on your thigh or that lump on ya butt!  Anyway, I might experiment over the holiday next week and make a low fat Thanksgiving meal. I'm gonna try the crustless pumpkin pie from JC website. I'll let you know how that turns out. Look at the bright side, if it stinks, I'll feed it to my cat. He eats everything. Take care! Hooray, I made it through day 3!!!
