Wow What a Weekend!

I did some major walking yesterday. My husband kept saying that we'd stop, if I was too tired. I never got tired. All this treadmill walking has really whipped me in to shape. We walked about 2 miles from a campground to Daytona Beach Harley and through all the vendors and back. He was the one tired! Then we went to a movie and then out to dinner. It was awesome! The strength I had was unbelievable. He ALSO said," I can tell you are losing weight in your shoulders, you look so great. I know this is TMI, but sex 3 times in one weekend. Wow, weightloss is paying off! I feel so much better about myself. I think I will go to Walmart and buy some veggies. The fridge is empty. I'm still in the challenge, but to be honest, I missed Friday night. Why? I have no excuse except I was LAZY!!!! I will make up for it. I am treating my body nicely today. I gave it oatmeal for breakfast!!! Have a great week.

Who's Still In the March 30 Mins a Day Challenge?

Can you believe its day 9 of the March "Won't you Give Yourself 30 Minutes a Day Challenge? Last night I really had a super 30 mins. I placed the tv in front of the treadmill and watched the news. Usualy I do the ipod, but I am getting tired of the music. Time to change my music, I guess. The time went by so fast because I was interested in the tv. I still worked up a great sweat. I've been eating healthy all week, so I hope the exercise kicks in my metabolism. We are going to drive down to Daytona Beach again this weekend. This is part 2 of Bike Week. I am looking forward to it!  For the time being I am continuing on the Jenny Craig plan with some altercations. I go to weigh in on Tuesday. So keep your fingers crossed for me. So comment if you're still in the challenge and if you want to get in, just start giving yourself 30 minutes a day to a healthier heart. P.S. I posted a 20 lb. loss picture, belly is decreasing!!!!

2 Lb Weight Loss !

Sorry, I didn't post yesterday. The blog would not take my log in and after doing it more than 3 times, it locked me out. Thanks to everyone who emailed me and said where are you? It's nice to feel wanted. Everyone is doing a great job on the 30 Minute a day commitment. Killer Hair07 lost 4.5 lbs! I am very happy for her! I did my 30 mins on the treadmill last night. It was real easy because I was psyched about weighing in earlier in the day and losing 2 lbs. That is over a 2 week span because I didn't weigh in last week. Ok, lets talk a little nutrition then I have a tidbit of make you feel good to share. I went to Picadilly Restuarant teice in the last 2 weeks. While there I waitched my P's and Q's. I ate broiled tilapia, broccoli, salad, I skipped the bread. Well a huge piece of chocolate pie caught my eye. It had this little plastic thing stuck down in it that said sweetened with equal. I thought this is good diet pie! NOT! This pie has over 40 grams of fat. I looked it up on the web. It was really good. I think the crust is what made it so bad, plus it had a real creamy texture and the top had almonds on it. So the moral to the story is don't eat it unless you're sure its ok..... Now, on to a little feel good stuff. I emailed THE PERSONAL TRAINER and told her that because of her email, we were inspired at DonnaS's urgency to give ourselves 30 mins a day for better health. She said that made her feel good to know she made a difference. She had been kinda down lately because her clients weren't progressing as nice as she would like. Afterall, she can't be with them 24 hours a day, when they are shovelling cake down their throats! You couldn't pay me to be a personal trainer. she says to all of us who are struggling, to take it one day at a time... one step forward to the rest of our life!

Bless your Heart!

Bless Your Heart! We used to say this in the South all the time! However, with the influx of people from other parts of the country, this is a term you don't hear all that often anymore. I am a true Southern Belle. I was born in the Carolinas and I have always lived in the South. Often I run in to people who just want to hear me talk! Imagine that! Once I had a lady who wanted to talk Barbecue with me! She said do you like it chopped or minced? Of course coming from barbecue country I proudly said minced. This was in the middle of Home Depot!! Anyway, not too many of us say it anymore and when I do people listen and laugh! So, BLESS YOUR HEART if you did your 30 minutes yesterday!! Thats exactly what you did! You got it pumpin' and sent that blood flushing through your body. You gave your brain power by providing it oxygen and you gave your body a refreshed energetic feeling. I hope you give yourself another 30 today. Remember , do something fun. Select an activitiy that you enjoy. If you don't like doing it, you won't stick to it. The only reason I like the treadmill is because I can listen to the Ipod while I do it. I love the sound of music in that thing! REMEMBER YOUR FRIENDS HERE ARE HERE TO MOTIVATE YOU. If you need a little pushing, let us know!!

There is Power in Numbers!!!

Ok 30 Minute Club- I hope you enjoyed your first weekend. I did my 30 mins outside yesterday walking. I also walked another 4 off the clock, when my husband pulled me through the motorcycle swap meet at the Daytona Beach fair grounds and the flea market. Donna says she is going to the gym. I haven't heard from Kristi. She's in Chatanooga getting her exercise in the hot tub!!! HeHe. Jenn says she's getting a bike. Sweet As Shugga, get off the computer and do your 30! On My Way- Did you really start today? You promised! Desertbrat- No, you must do your own 30. This is something your heart won't let you pay your way out of. Unless of course, you can get Kenny Chesney to do it for you. Man, have you seen his abs? Focus, Joy! Wanda 1974 is going to be our super stretcher. Take Deep breaths, tighten up and make every one count! We're all rootin' for ya! Manderlyh's loyalty will lead to an end to those sleeplesness nights! Lilani- Don't try to over do it. 30 mins a day for the heart is a great start!! Hey, I like the way that sounded! Killer Hair07 is going to wear out the eliptical machine. Lli- On a mission & she can do it. By summer we'll be two fit babes!! Marsha- tell me what you did for your 30, I can't wait! Sue (Bearness)- Don't make me come up there!!! How bout starting off dancing while you're washing dishes!! So what's Really our mission in this March 30 Madness. A personal trainer wrote me an email that said, "Won't you give yourself just 30 mins a day?" It hit home for Donna S. and she started this 30 minutes a day starting 3/1. Well Kristi Queen wanted to start 3/1, so her & Donna did and I started yesterday. Enjoyed those 2 free days!!! So we are going to see if we feel better, see if we lose better and we will make our heart healthy. So anyone who wants to get into March 30 madness come on!  Ok time for a nutrirional benefit to reading all this crap!! I just bought a magazine called Looking Good at Walmart Jan / Feb for $2.99. On page 31 there is an awesome rice comparison double page layout. It compares 8 types of instant rice and it gives you the nutritious truth!!! Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice has 4 g of Fiber & 7 g protein per serving. I have to get me some of that. There are some cool recipes in this magazine. Have a great day!! I'll do the treadmill tonight!!!!!

Excuse Me, Have You got 30 Minutes?

A couple of post back I told you guys about the email I got from the personal trainer who sold me my treadmill. Which I think I have used 5 times, maybe. Anyway, she said all it takes is 30 mins a day, won't you commit for 30 mins. Well Donna read that and she wants to commit. We got Kristi to join in and Hotmomwannabe. So what we are doing is we are comitting 30 mins a day to some type of exercise and we are going to document it on our blogs. So I start tomorrow. Does anyone else want to join us? We can do this for a month and see if it helps any of us. I think it will. So lets get off the couch and move. I'll report 30 mins tomorrow!!!

What time is it?

I woke up at 4 am. The tv was going crazy. Tornados and storms everywhere. Florida is pretty bad right now. Lots of crazy weather. So I thought I would just blog. Thats right blog! I can hear the wind chimes at my neighbor's going crazy! I can hear the brush of the winds against my windows and the Palms are swaying. Some of the ones outside are 30 years old and tall. Its so beautiful to watch! Now on to nutrition....... Has anyone tried the rice krispies with strawberries? I got an email about them this week. I've gotta go buy some, sounds so yummy! I have to go to mygrocerydeals.com and look for a sale on them. Have a happy Friday and I'll try to write you a good blog tonight!

Thank Goodness for Dotti

This morning I had a weird craving for Pancakes and sausage. I thought, well they won't be too bad for me. So I went to McD's and got a pancake and sausage platter. I was being really good! I took it back to the office, covered it in Cary's sugar free syrup and I trashed the 2 pats of butter in the bag and I chased it down with a diet coke. I decided to look at the nutritional value on the website. McD's website did not list the pancakes like I ate them. They listed pancakes with 2 pats of butter and their syrup. I do the sugar free for 2 reasons- diabetes and weight loss. Anyway, Dottis weight loss zone came to my mind. I went to her website http://www.dwlz.com/  and there it was in black and white. So I racked up 510 calories, 23g fat, 2 g fiber and 59 g carbs. My day is ruined. They sure were good (hehe). So for lunch I am seeing rabbit food in my future. For dinner, I see frozen lowfat dinner.  I have learned a lesson from this. Do not eat something without conducting a full investigation. From now on, call me food super sleuth!!!!! Have a great day guys and stay away from McD's pancakes!!!

World's Biggest Hamburger

http://www.news4jax.com/foodnews/11108353/detail.html

You guys have to see this. It is Huge!!!! Also I heard on the news this morning that Krispy Kreme was making a lowfat doughnut, but I haven't been able to locate the back up for that. I'll let you know if I do. It's important for the President of the No Bread Club to keep informed with all breading issues! (HeHe). I got an email today from the personal trainer that I bought my treadmill from and it said won't you commit just 30 mins a day to your health? That hit home. I am going to print a sign out and hang it on my fridge, that says: Excuse me, Can you commit 30 mins. to yourself today? Maybe every morning that I see it, I will walk on the treadmill.

NEWSFLASH- SUcha disappointment, it is a whole wheat 180 calorie doughnut with no creamy stuff, and 11 g of fat, DARN!!!

Lots Going On....

I thought I'd post before going to all your websites and reading. Thanks for all the insight on the probable program change. I just don't feel like I am getting my monies worth. Anyway, I didn't go and weigh in today. I have been sick for the past 24 hours with some kind of stomach virus, so I postponed. I'll go before the end of the week and decide what I am going to do. I HAVE GREAT NEWS!! I got an "A" on my business plan. My teacher loved it and I enjoyed making it. It would be cool if I could create business plans for a living. I just enjoyed doing it. I liked doing the Power Point too! I applied for graduation and will find out in a week or so to see if I make it. I think I have all the credits. I also still have a job. They cut 5% of our work force and I am still here for now. 5% more probably going next month!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes wide open. Too bad I can't make money typing on this computer all day! Getting back to the lifestyle change at hand, I went to PicaDilly's for lunch, had grilled fish, brocolli and stewed cabbage and equal sweetened pie. I felt like that was fairly healthy. The old Joy would have had a shrimp pot pie, fried okra, mash potatoes, cornbread and apple pie. So, I probably saved about 1500 calories and 25 grams of fat!!! It's amazing that choices are a big deal. They can make you or break you. Since so many of you asked about Sat night... My husband worked late, so we went to the only Italian place in town and I had chicken lasagna and a salad. I resisted bread again!!!!! Yay for me!!!! If you've resisted bread this week, give yourself a shout out on my blog!!!!
