I have a new job!! If you guys remember last week I said that I was dealing with something in my personal life and I wanted to ask you to keep me in your thoughts. Well the decision has been made. I have decided to leave my current employer of 3 years. Here's the story to get you up to date. I lived in the Carolinas for the last 20 years. Last Spring my husband accepted a promotion at his company to come and work in Florida. I told my employer that I was going to have to resign unless there was something in Florida that I could do. They told me about a project in Jacksonville. I came here, rented an apartment. It is 2.5 hours from where my husband is. I have lived in this apartment Monday through Thursday for the past year and only going home on the weekends. I STILL have unpacking to do. Can you believe that? Anyway, I have started missing him real bad, and I want a career change. So I applied for a position with the county and I got it. I gave my notice here at the apartment and I am moving. I know this is going to be a scary financial move, but I have to do it, hoping that the future will produce results for me. Wish me luck. Oh yeah- I need to get home and get focused on this weightloss thing!!!!
I hope you guys had a great weekend. I had my normal "off days". These are days when I eat what I want within reason. The reason is because I like it! I had fried oysters and shrimp. It was great. We painted our kitchen, added a little stucco to the walls and painted over it. Maybe I'll post a picture when I am finished. It will be a couple of more weeks. Things are going great. We went to the beach Saturday afternoon and we counted the deer on the way back. I saw 6 during our 20 minute drive. They were so beautiful. I was disappointed that I didn't see any wild hogs, but maybe next time. I hope you did something fun and relaxing. Have a great evening!
When I was a kid we used to eat macaroni and cheese about every day. It might be Macaroni and beans, Macaroni & salmon, Macaroni and hamburger, Macaroni and more macaroni. When I married and got out on my own in the mid 80s, we ate a lot of those banquet meals because I didn't know how to cook. There was Turkey, Salisbury Steak and macaroni and cheese. They came in the family size and you could get 2 for $5. They were yummy. If you've been reading my blog which started last November you know I was on the Jenny Craig plan for about 4 months. I always complained about the cost of food. It was crazy paying $4 for a small frozen dinner. Well since I broke the union in March, I have been on the lookout for low cal frozen dinners that I can put in the freezer at a reasonable cost. The other night while at Winn Dixie Marketplace, I saw 10 Banquet individual dinners for $10. Thats a dollar each!!There are a couple of them that had low calories and fat. The turkey, the beef stew and the chicken casserrole one. So I was so happy. I am getting tight in my old age. I just wanted to share that sometimes you can go back to an old favorite. I need to go an dust off a box of old crusty oatmeal. Have a good night.
I am going back to Weight Watchers Thursday night I promise! I have not gained. I thought I would have because I ate a bunch of food when I was in NC for my mom's funeral. I would go tonight, but I have an excuse. I am tired of driving. I probably went 60 miles today in my truck and I just don't want to drive anymore. Before I forget, check out my new baby pictures of my grandson, www.heathjoyshy.shutterfly.com. He is so cute! he is growing. I am so giddy over him. I love his eyes. Keep your fingers crossed for me or you can pray if you want. I am dealing with a decision in my personal life that could be a major change in my life. It could be a good or a bad thing, thats all I can tell you about it now, but just think of me. It sure has been smokey around here with all the fires in Georgia. Jacksonville has been a big fog. Breathing has been kind of hard. I wish all this fog would go away. Have a great evening, I'll check in soon.
Thanks for all your prayers, emails and phone calls over the past week. I am back in Florida and will return to my job tomorrow. I actually need a day to recooperate from the travel and I need to do laundry. Losing my mother was one of the hardest things I ever had to face in my life. She had been suffering for a long time. She had lung cancer, congestive heart failure and diabetes. She was only 59. This makes me more committed to getting my weight down and get in better health. 59 is too young to die. I ate like a pig last week, but the scales are showing a 5 lb loss at the house. When I get to a meeting this week, I will know for sure. My husband gained 5. I hope I never see another piece of fried xhicken!! Everybody brings KFC. Word of advice for you guys taking food in the future to peopleho have lost loved ones, take a ham or pizza. I bet we threw out 2 buckets full!!! The kindness was appreciated, though. I'll let you go, but once again let me say thanks for your concern and by tomorrow life should be back to normal for me.
So many of you have asked about me the past few days. I appreciate that. I am fine. I have been kind of stressed, trying to wrap up graduation, my job has been busy and my mother has been ill. So I am stretched 90 million ways. I was so sad to see that a couple of people went into hiding last week. Not me I am still on this journey. I had WI tonight, but I didn't go. I'll go tomorrow night. I am too tired to go. I drove in 3 hours this morning from my home to my work apartment, so I am so tired. For the most part I stayed on plan last week. I am getting very good at minimizing serving sizes too. I have to give myself KUDOS for eating 3 oz. of my ribeye instead of the total 14 oz. It was tempting, but I prevailed. I wish you all a great week. I'll stop by your blogs and see whats up.
I ate the world's best lasagna tonight. I chewed up all my flex points. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. I am going to bed to forget this one. oink! oink!
I think I have drank a ton of water today. I have spent most of the day at my desk. I had to sit here all day waiting on two loads of windows to be delivered. One has already came. I had a Jenny Craig fish dinner and a salad for lunch. I still have some of the Jenny stuff to clean out of my fridge yet. So I'm eating it every now and then. I wore a pair of my New Balance tennis shoes today. They are a little tight, but I am sure I will work them in. I freaked out today!! I got a postcard from the school that I am graduating from saying, "Thank you for your transcripts, we would like to have an opportunity to talk to you about attending our school! I freaked, I have applied for graduation already and after I moved to Florida I had to attend a couple of classes on line to finish up, so I was just transferring the last few classes back. So, I emailed the counselor and the head of the school and said whats up with this? It seems they are getting it straightened out, but I was freaked out. I am graduating May 12th, come hail or high water!!
Kristi came down and we went mmmmaaaadddd! Friday night I took her to Clark's Fish Camp. I ate fried fish absorbed all my flex points for the week. Saturday we went to St. Augustine. I started out the day being so good! I ordered a bagel with a plain egg at Chick Fillet. We were in the drive thru. They screwed up the order. I got a Chicken , egg & cheese biscuit. I ate it!! It was good. I hadn't had fried chicken in a long time. I had forgot how good a biscuit tasted too! I got to St. Augustine, we walked for hours. I probably needed to walk 12 hours to get rid of the biscuit!!! I had some chocolate from the chocolate company there. It was a marshmallow dipped in caramel and rolled in pecans and I bought 1 truffle. My old self would have bought a pound of fudge!!! I watched Kristi eat ice cream!!! I was so good! We didn't buy nothing there, really! I got 2 used books, thats all. We went to the outlets and I didn't get anything but some air fresheners from Yankee Candle for my truck. We hit jackpot at Beall's. Both of us spending over 200 dollars, but they had New Balance tennis shoes on clearance at 70 % off and Carribean Joe and Columbia Sportswear at 50% off. Kristi carried back 7, yes I said SEVEN pairs of shoes on the plane. Actually, 5 pairs of New Balance, 2 pairs of sandals, a purse and she brought 3 freakin pairs of shoes with her. So she actually took back 10 pairs of shoes. I bought 3 pairs of New Balance , a purse and tons of clothes. We probably got $500 worth of stuff for $200. Beall's is AWESOME, too bad they are only in Florida. I took her to eat Japanese last night. She picked at the sushi. She's not that kind of girl. I am and I chowed down again. So, guess who is dreading weigh in Monday!! ME!!!! However, I am going to weigh in because I need to know where I stand. I was seeing 269.4 on the scale Friday and had stayed on plan all week, so maybe it won't be so bad. Before I forget, I posted 2 trip pictures, one of us at the grist mill and another of me in front of the WORLD's OLDEST SCHOOL HOUSE, Kristi says I am the WORLDS OLDEST STUDENT, so I might as well pose in front. She made me smile all weekend. I needed it real bad. Thanks Kristi! Everyone, have a great week!
The boss was upset with me first thing this morning; said I wasnt organized enough and should use paper to do lists. I showed him my calendar and post it notes on my Blackberry. He didn't like it. Well, maybe he didn't agree with the way I was doing it, but 99.9% of the time I do what he asks me. I like him, but sometimes he gets me upset. I said something to him that I can't take back. I told him that if he doesn't think I am doing a good enough job, to fire me. I couldn't believe I said that. I told him, "I bust my ass for you" . Anyway- an hour later one of my coworkers gives me a $1 coin with a misprint or missing words on it. They are selling for around $300. So then I was feeling lucky. I got in my truck, drove over to the Country Club where I work and there on the marquee:
Spring is Mother Nature's way of saying, let's party! (Robin Williams said that!) . Then I was smiling. So I worked all day real fast, thinking about the cool weekend Kristi Queen and I are going to have shopping in St. Augustine. Then I was at the home of one of my homeowners and I commented on how much I liked the little plastic dogwood tree she had in her living room. SHE GAVE IT TO ME! She said she didn't want it and it was going to the Goodwill. So its going to end up at my apartment in about 25 mins. So here I am now, work is over. I have to go do some laundry and clean some of the trash out of my truck, so not to embarass KQ tomorrow. Overall it has been an on plan day . I hope to bust the 260's wide open Monday night!!!!!
