You can be TOO confident!
I found out this week that you can, in fact, be TOO CONFIDENT in your weight loss.
Beware, it leads to dangerous feelings of wanting to reward yourself. I started letting myself add a piece of fried fish with my grilled chicken, a little butter on my potato, a "treat" at the movie. It culminated Saturday when I ordered a fried fish fillet plate (not just adding one piece to my grilled chicken). 3 fish strips (1-1/2 filets). I felt terrible after I ate it, physically and emotionally.
I didn't even make it home to go to the bathroom. I got very sick. That was my light to realize I had turned things in a bad direction.
All of this happened during a very good week. I felt on top of the world.
So be careful everybody! Don't get too confident. Take a fools advice.

Yep...so easy
Yep, it's so easy to do. You get that feeling that you're doing wonderfully well and 'this little thing won't hurt' seems like an okay item to 'slip in'.
As you have found, it takes very little time for your body to remind you that it's NOT okay (getting sick is a pretty clear signal from your body) to go back to old ways of doing things.
It's those little things and being sneaky that puts the weight on faster than anything.
Time to get back on track, my friend!
You got this .... reunion is soon!!!

Absolutely!
I agree 100%!!! I think being too confident has been my downfall every time I've tried losing weight...I get in a groove, think I'm doing just fine, have a little treat here then a bit extra there and before I know it, all the weight has piled back on. So, this time around I need to find a way to avoid that. Thank you for reminding us that too much confidence can derail us! You seem to be doing great, though so keep at it! :)

.
(( HUGS )) Jon!! You are doing great! This is just a small set-back and your body's way of saying "HEY! Knock it off!"

Yeppers
My wife is a bad infuence on me. She misses the good ole days of all the food and drink I can hold. The diet puts a crimp on her style. No problem for her at 135. My best help is the glucose test each morning. IF the number gets high, I know I'm doing wrong and have to straighten up. We all slip, just get back up. I heard we could maintain by dieting 25% of the time. Sounds easy to me, ED
