What to do when you don't want to let go of the food
Then don't let go. :) Eat the same things. Divide your plate or anything you eat in 4 equal parts. Eat 3/4. Leave 1/4 behind. You will be consuming less of the same. Don't forget to add your workouts (start easy first.) The easiest thing is to add more steps into your daily routine. Get a pedometer for around $20. You will start losing weight the first or second week. You are on your way!

No Excuses When Weather is Cold - Let's Get Off the Couch!
One of the things I have learned during my first journey to lose weight was that I couldn't make any excuses not to work out. If weather is cold, start your workout with a sweatshirt. You'll be so hot in a few minutes that you will start taking clothes off! ;-)
This weekend was like that. It was a bit boring for me because I really wanted to go out but it was raining and cold and I am just coming out of my cold/bronchitis. I tried to watch out what I ate since I knew I wasn't going to be burning a lot of calories. Saturday and Sundays I have a really good breakfast. I try to keep breakfast and lunch the "heaviest" eating times and have light dinners or snacks at night.
Tonight however I did 30 minutes of high impact aerobics with weight lifting. It makes me feel good to do some kind of workout during the weekend. I think it's the muscles hurting that make me smile. It tells me "you worked hard."
This Tuesday my friend and I are going to our first martial arts class. Hehe. That should be fun! I hope I can kick her ass. *wink* Wait! I *will* kick her ass. ;-)

Back to work and my first comment on ExtraPounds! :)
Tee hee! It was to work on Wednesday after 1 week of... well... staying home. Gawd, I didn't even go to the store all that time!!! I'm feeling better but still not 100%. I'm still congested and coughing. It was really strange going back to the office. Everything looked different and FELT different. People welcomed me back but some of them wished I had stayed home longer. Hehe. But I just can't take any more days off! I don't think I'm contagious anymore tho. I hope so!!!
I haven't weighed myself since last time. I will do that tomorrow morning ... *drum roll*
Well, it was a beautiful surprise to see my first comment here at ExtraPounds. Thanks to TatumsMom!!! Yay!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH, Mom. I commented back on Mom's blog. I hope I did it right too!!! :) Her blog can be found here:

Bye 2007, Hello 2008!
I woke up Monday (12/31) very sweaty and still pretty sick. What a way to start the last day of 2007!!! I weighed myself and it read 125.8 lbs. As the day went by, I knew I wasn't going anywhere for the New Year celebration. Being sick is no fun!!! :-/ Well, I decided to stay home with my cat and my dog and my tissue paper. Close to midnight, I tuned in to Channel 7 to Dick Clark and counted down with the TV: 5 ... 4... 3... 2 ... 1 ... I jumped and screamed Happy New Year to my furry babies who just stared at me not knowing what to do. Hehe. So cute!! Then I wrote a text on my phone and mass-sent it to my friends and family. I called my family and wished them Happy New Year. The next hour, I worked out hard. I decided to make the very first minutes of 2008 useful by toning up a little bit. I tell ya, my muscles were so tired and hurting and sweat was coming off like I was taking a shower. It felt very good! After a nice steamy shower, I did my hair and got ready for bed. Boy, did I sleep good! :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!! :-)

The weekend
Yesterday (Saturday) was pretty much blah! I'm still very sick. I decided not to work out. I did use my time well though. I finally set up my 401k plan! Yay! It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. :P
When I woke up yesterday morning, I weighed myself. The scale said 126. Now I'm sure I did gain weight over the holidays!!! Before Thanksgivings I was 121-123 lbs. My gawd!
I did not weigh in today. I am planning on working out though in an hour or so (9ish pm). Sound of Music is on TV. Ahhh... ;-)
I hope I am making sense. With the meds, the congestion and the headache, I'm feeling a bit lightheaded. :P

12.34am:
I just had a nice 1-hr workout. I sweated a lot! I did 30-min light aerobics keeping heart rate up and 30-min weight lifting. Then I stretched to a cool down. After a hot steamy shower, I'm ready for bed.
I will weigh in tomorrow again! *gulp* I expect to be the same 126. I've been sick 4 days now without much movement except for my late night workouts. *sigh*
This is going to be a boring New Year's!

I worked out!
Well, I did it. I worked out for around 1.5 hours. It was a little harder with the wheezing (bronchitis) and the stuffy nose.. and the coughing. But once I started sweating and drinking water, I felt better. Then I took a hot steamy shower afterwards. Now I'm getting ready for bed.
Today - well it's actually Sat 12.25am but let's say it's still Friday, eh? *wink* - is the start of my second journey to my new goal of 118 lbs!!!
I just took some Robitussin and my mother's home medicine (honey with powder cinamon.) It's making me a lil sleepy! =)
Tomorrow (Sat) when I wake up, I will weigh myself to find out my starting weight. Gawd, I'm nervous!
Peace out!

The Beginning
Hi everyone -
I read about this site from Health Magazine and thought I'd give it a try.
I have actually started my journey to a healthier life almost two years ago in January 2006.
My weight has the yo-yo history we've all seen beginning in 1990:
1990 - My weight was 120 lbs.
1995 - My weight was 166 lbs.
2000 - My weight was 130 lbs.
2002 - My weight was 138 lbs.
2005 - My weight was 145 lbs.
In 2002 I became an auntie to a beautiful girl. :) And in 2006, I couldn't keep up with her. I would run out of breath. If I jumped, my joints would hurt. She wanted to have fun with her auntie and I couldn't give that to her. I was just too lazy to work out. When I noticed that I wasn't able to play with her because I was overweight and had pains, I decided to change it. And I did.
It all started in January 2006 at 146 lbs. By May of that year, I was down to 132 lbs. By July, I was below the 130s and by September I was 125lbs. I had reached my goal!
From then on, I have been maintaining the weight down. Some days I'm 121 and some days I go back to 125.
So why am I here? This year 2007, during the holidays, I've been having a tough time keeping the weight down. I weighed myself a week ago and the damn scale said 127. I haven't weighted myself since. So I'm here to get back on track. I know I can do it. I just need support. I hope to find it here.
I've been sick since yesterday (12/27/2007) with a cold and bronchitis. It's almost 10pm right now. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to work out. I'll write back later. :)
