Before After

I need women... as many women as I can get and I need them now!!!

First, I'm at 198.0 after the weekend. I feel good about that.

But I wanted to enlist your suport for my daughter. She is a student in Anthropolgy at UTA and she... well here's a quote from her:

"I am doing a study (I go to University of Texas, Arlington and major in Anthropology) regarding female bloggers – why we do it, what kind of backgrounds we come from, etc. This is a semester long project that I will present in May. I have posted a survey at http://femalebloggerproject.wordpress.com, and I'd really appreciate it if you could find some time to take it."

BTW, if you want to read her blog it's called FACE DOWN.

If you don't read anything else you have to read the About Me page where she explains why she calls it that. That's some funny stuff right there.

Thanks in advance and take care.

Jerry

I feeeeeel GOOD!

Well, first I feel good that James Brown was finally laid to rest (at least for a while) but that thought didn't occur to me until after I wrote my title.

I feel good about my body fat. Okay, well not so good about the body fat that I still have but I feel pretty good about the body fat that isn't.

Which reminds me of something my mother used to say:

"As I was walking up the stair

I saw a man that wasn't there

He wasn't there again today

I wish that man would go away"

But I digress. I was talking about body fat.

Everyday after I work out I go over to the Virgin Life Care machine to weigh myself, measure my body fat and check my blood pressure.

The weight has been under 200 for the last three days (since it's in a common area of the gym I leave my clothes on to weigh there so that adds a few pounds).

The blood pressure has always been good (today was 116/76)

But the body fat? It has always been around 29.8.

Yesterday it was 29.4 and today it was 29.0

It made me glad that I did not get out of bed and get a snack last night like I wanted to do.

I can't wait to see what my body fat is tomorrow.

Oh about the not snacking thing. I heard a guy on the radio talking about just breaking your routine. He was talking about smoking but I applied the same principal to MY addiction.

He said the problem is that people get into set routines. He helps people stop smoking but he tells them they can smoke as much as they want... BUT they have to change their routine.

For example, he said, if you normally smoke after a meal the next time you have a meal just wait 20 minutes. Then after 20 minutes you can smoke as much as you want.

I did that with snacking last night. After 20 minutes I still wanted a snack but not bad enough to get out of bed to get it.

I'm gonna try that again today.

On another note thank you all for your comments and support. It truly amazes me that anyone not related to me would want to read my babble (of course my father claimed to be quite the ladies man, maybe you are all related).

Either way, thanks so much.

I'm fine how are you?

No, serioiusly. How are you doing?

You see if I can get you all to comment here and let me know how you are it will save me about 2 hours today because I won't have to go read all you blogs.

Really.

Okay, I'm kidding. Deserve Better said I need to explain when I'm joking so that's it. That was a joke before. I read all your blogs yesterday. Y'all should write more often (kettle, pot, whatever).

But enough about you, let's talk about me.

I really am fine. Cheryl has been great about preparing foods that stick to our diet and I only cheated a few times over the weekend (when I take responsibility for our meals).

But I have been under 200 for the entire week.

This morning I am at 198.6.

198 is where I was when I signed up for EP. Then I forgot about it for a month and when I checked back in I was at 205.

That was in December and it has taken over 3 months to get back to where I started.

Thursday was the hardest day last week. I hope this week is easier.

So I took my kitchen designer certification test Saturday. I won't get the results for 12 weeks but I think I did okay.

We'll see.

I worked out this morning. This was my last session with the little weasel that I give money to for him to hurt and insult me.

From now on I'll just hurt myself and put the money in the bank.

That's all for now.

Take care.

New York, New York

I'm back.

All I did was study and sleep for the entire week. I will continue to do that for another week now that I am home so I can pass my exam next Saturday.

I wasn't able to control my appetite as well as I thought I would but I did better than I usually do so I guess I should cut myself some slack.

In the old days I would have come back 5lbs heavier. This time I think I lost a pound.

Of course, I had visions of coming back 5lbs lighter but someone forced me to eat half a slice of New York Cheesecake... then of course the next day I had to try it at a different restaurant just to see if it was as good (it wasn't).

At any rate, I'm glad to see some new faces on here and some old ones too...er I didn't mean that the we it came out.

I meant it's good to see the familiar faces and the strange ones too... no, that's not right either.

Let me just say "Hi, it's good to see you".

I think SlowAndSteady might be right

Anna, you told me a comment a long time ago that meal planning is what helps you stay on track.

I definitely need to do that. When I make meal decisions on the spur of the moment I make bad decisions.

I think about doing something else but then I just do the same old thing.

I am very curious to see how I do next week ion my own in NY. If I can come back from there under 200 lbs that will be a great accomplishment.

So Seriously, are you pregnant?

'cause I'm thinkin' I might be.

You are probably one of those people who think men can't get pregnant but I honestly have no idea what else would make me swell up like this.

I am absolute-friggin'-lutely sure that the chocolate shake I had last night or the Double-Double and fries was not responsible for my weighing almost 2 pounds more this morning (I mean jeesh I ordered that sucker without sauce...WTF?)

So, that's it.

I'm sure I pregnant.

I hope it's a boy.

I was a little premature ...

in wishing you all a Happy Presidents Day!

My calendar says it's not until next Monday.

Well let me be the first to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day...

Oops, premature again... I wonder if they have a pill for that.

Happy Presidents Day!

I am 199.8 this morning. I don't deserve it. I've been cheating. But I'll take it.

I'm not getting excited about it (okay, well, I'm not getting too excited about it.

I will get excited if I can stay under 200 for a full 7 days.

The 5 second rule...

...doesn't always apply.

I'm in the office today. I brought a bag of trailmix.

As I took my last handful I felt something slip from my hand, hit my leg and fall to the floor under my desk.

I looked down and saw half of a cashew, cool!

When I got down there to get it I noticed what appeared to be a dark chocolate Miniature Hershey's Kiss a little further away.

Strange, I thought to myself, I only sensed one thing hit my leg.

I'll never know for sure what it was but as I was swallowing it occurred to me that I have no idea what type of vermin inhabit this place when I'm not here.

It is a factory after all and we don't have Freddie anymore...
