Whatever works for you
We are each here for the same reason.
We each are trying to acheive the same goal.
We do this in a public forum but it is a private process.
Each of us has to do what works for them.
I've lost weight before. I used a diet someone at work gave me. I went from 215 to 175. It worked.
That was then, this is now. Maybe it didn't work so well.
I haven't weighed in this morning but I suspect I am somewhere between 200 and 202.
I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. One of the things I thought about is self image. Is it really good for me to have a blog called Fatboy? I decided to abandon this blog and it's name and start a new blog on SparkPeople.com with a name that is more postive.
I thought long and hard about what I could call a blog that would be representative who I aspire to be or who I truly am at the core.
I thought about things like "The new me", "Healthy and Fit", Fat No More and other things like that but none of them really represent who I am at the core.
I came up with "Cheryl's Guy".
That's who I am. That is all I aspire to be.
I set up that blog.
I haven't actually used it yet.
This morning I thought about why I picked Yo Fatboy in the first place. The reason is because I thought it was funny. The idea was inspired by a line in one of the Rocky movies when he is fighing a 7 foot wrestler and the guy picks Rocky up and holds him over his head and just before Rocky goes flying he yells "Yo Adrian, catch me!". That was pretty funny.
So I picked the name to be funny. That's part of who I am too. That's probably one of the reasons Cheryl loves me.
So I decided I won't abandon this blog (well, I'm not much of a regular blogger anyway but whatever).
I've decided I can have a blog called Yo Fatboy and still have a positive self image. Although that does go against the philosophy of positive thinking, I believe I can handle it.
So, back to my subject heading of "Whatever works for you" (which btw isn't about you at all but about me). What works for me today is Dr. Oz' book "You On a Diet".
We bought it some time ago and never cracked the cover (just like the South Beach diet book that I still haven't opened). But this morning when I couldn't sleep I came out here and read the introduction.
I like it. I like it alot. I'm going to give it a shot. I think I'll use this blog space to track my results. I say "I think" I will do that because let's face it, we never really know what I am going to do until I do it.
Oh, speaking of me doing things, some of you may remember when I went to New York to study for my exam... I got my results the other day. I am now a Certified Kitchen Designer.
But, I digress. Back to Dr. Oz. I really like the book and I think it will work for me.
We'll see.
If you've read this far down, thank you and I'm sorry you have no life.
Fatboy
