Being out of town for a week...

Not good as far as weight loss is concerned!  I only exercised one day with a walking video I brought along.  I did eat some salads for lunch/supper a couple of the days.  But sitting in class and then eating out for all meals is hard!  I think I'm going to try to follow the WW point system this next week to see how I do.

Important lesson learned

Well at lunch today I have learned that I need to be prepared and bring something with me.  I commute to a small town for work.  I went to the local grocery store on my lunch break thinking I could pick up something quick and easy.  They don't carry Lean Cuisine or Smart ones.  I ended up eating way too many calories.  My plan is to eat a salad for supper tonight.

Mother's Day weekend...

Well...I kept up on my food journal.  I exercised. Friday night I went on a walk with friends.  On Saturday my husband and I had to get rid of an old sidewalk in our backyard - so lifting broken up pieces was alot of exercise!!  I felt it in my legs Sunday morning.  Then Sunday morning we went for about a 10 mile bike ride.  It was alot of fun.
 
The downfall of the weekend was the made from scratch carrot cake my husband and girls made me for mother's day.  I think I had three pieces yesterday.  There is still about half the cake left.  I think we'll have some tonight and then tomorrow I'll bring it to work or share with some friends.

day two

Another day coming to a close.  I did pretty good today too.  I did have a handful of corn chips while we were deciding what to eat for supper but I quickly switched over to baby carrots and hummus.
 
I walked tonight with a couple of friends.  It was kindof cold and windy but it was a nice long walk.  We are planning on getting together for another walk on Monday. 
 
Both of my friends I walk with are/were into jogging.  I'm going to try it out with one of my friends after she has her baby.  She used to jog alot but hasn't in a long time so she will be starting from scratch - like me.  I think the last time I jogged on purpose was in high school gym class!!
 
My husband and I are going to try to go on a couple of organized bike rides this summer.  If the weather is good this weekend we will go out for another ride.

Goals for the rest of this week...

I think I do best when I set up some mini-goals for myself.  I would like to set some new mini goals for myself each Friday - I'm a little early this week.  So here goes...
 
1. Keep a food journal.  I have really sucked at doing this in the past.  I have no idea why because I know keeping a food journal is a big key for me.
 
2. Exericse at least five days.  I already have a walk scheduled for tonight with a friend of mine (who my by the way has had 4 kids and doesn't look like she has had any!)  My husband wants to do a bunch of yard work this weekend - so that will help with being active as well.
 
3. Drink at least two full water bottles of water each day.
 
I think I'll limit my goals to that for now.

Starting Point

Starting out today with Extrapounds.com.  I really need to get serious about my weight.  I've joined and quit Weight Watchers three times.  I was the most successful the first time.  My weight today is only 4# from my first starting weight and that is depressing!
