good pain http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/277576/good-pain
two days after my first 8 minute ABS and ARMS workout, i can still feel muscles that i hadn't felt in a long time. it is a good kind of pain. almost like my muscles are waking up.

oh... and yesterday was the first time since october (when i started this new job) that i haven't been hungry all day and done something about it. i wasn't starving for breakfast. drank a coffee cup filled with water instead of scrounging around for something to eat. felt no need for a mid-morning snack. and then for lunch, i didn't eat my chips OR cookies. =)

my daughter makes our lunches on sunday evening for the week. she makes our lunches virtually identical and they are even because she is so keen on being absolutely fair. my little virgo.

then ate a sensible supper last night.

it is almost like i can feel metabolism picking up again. =) i like the feeling. plus i'm strangely not as cold as i was before. as if the blood in my veins is literally warming to the idea of working these tired muscles.

oh & i had forgotten how much my neck muscles would hurt after doing the 8 minute ABS. wow.
Comments(3) 277576 Sunday, December 2, 2007 00:01:08 i did it http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/276479/i-did-it
i exercised for 30 minutes. i took photos but "uh no" i'm not posting 'em. ~shakes head~ the pictures were worse than my before picture. ~shutters~

this morning i found my 8 minute ABS, ARMS, LEGS, and BUNS dvds. and i actually did the ABS and ARMS this morning. i even used 3 pound weights to do the ARMS workout. =)

i intend to do the LEGS and BUNS version this evening.

thanks again for the comments and words of encouragement. knowing that i was accountable to ya'll forced me to finally get off my bottom and exercise. i can't express in words how much ya'll mean to me.
Comments(5) 276479 Friday, November 30, 2007 21:00:12 a few words about my BEFORE picture http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/275759/a-few-words-about-my-before-picture
it is by far the most embarassing picture of myself that i've ever allowed anyone but close family and friends to see. the picture was taken in april of 2006.

the photographer was either my boyfriend or one of my parents. and there were no ill intentions regarding the taking of the photograph other than to document me hiding the easter eggs from my daughter.

i was in such denial about my weight during this time that i sold my very expensive weight watchers scale at a yard sale. it was difficult to find photographs that were of my whole person.

my reasoning in choosing my BEFORE picture was to encourage me to get healthy and look much better at every angle.

i was the girl who would forget to eat. and then when my daughter and i were forced to live with my parents for over a year (well, that combined with my mom reminding me to eat AND to feed my daughter)... i went from a size 4 to size 8 between may and august 2000. uh yeah... and then during the following year, i went up to size 10, 12, and finally to a 14.

i've even tried on maternity clothes (though i'm not pregnant) in hopes of finding clothes that fit a bit better.

why don't they make adjustable jeans for women??? my daughter had several pairs when she was 4 and 5 years old from the gap.

anyway, i digress...

thank you for the encouragement.
Comments(6) 275759 Friday, November 30, 2007 22:09:13 thank you kimquilts55 for inspiring me today http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/275578/thank-you-kimquilts55-for-inspiring-me-today
this is the comment i left on kim's blog...

i promise to you kimquilts55 that i am going to go to the fitness center at my apartment complex after work today and work out for a minimum of 30 minutes. even if those 30 minutes are spent on the treadmill. i will exercise today.

now, hold me to it. i will take my treo with me and take a picture during the workout as proof. sweat doesn't lie. =)
Comments(5) 275578 Friday, November 30, 2007 22:09:10 measurements http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/275506/measurements
i took my measurements last night. all of the measurements that i've taken since december 22nd 2006 are posted in my body log.

i'm going to keep track of my cycle here as well 'cause as all girls know "the cycle" can cause weight & measurements to fluctuate.

today is day 26.

my favorite place to keep track of "the cycle" is at http://mymonthlycycles.com
Comments(0) 275506 Friday, November 30, 2007 22:09:09 40 plus http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/jennie8/comments/274944/40-plus
i'd like to lose 40 pounds... heck, who am i kidding? i want to be a size 4 and weigh between 120 & 125 but i'll be happy with 130 - 135. which is just over 40 pounds lower than the present number i see when i step on the scale.

i have a small frame. but for some reason, few believe me when i state the number on the scale.

i am realistic enough to know that i will never be 105 pounds again. not unless i get divorced again and am clinically depressed.
Comments(2) 274944 Friday, November 30, 2007 22:08:14
