Doing better

Did great yesterday with tracking what I ate, and working out.  Have decided to cut back workouts from 6 days a week to 3 or 4.  At least for the time being.  But, if my stress level increases, I'll just have to figure out a way to make the day longer so that I can get my workouts in 6 days a week because I need the release.  This week is just going to be rough because I have to work 40 hours in 4 days.  That's what I get for being sick.  Oh well, it's the end of the month and the days would be long no matter what... Maybe I'll start working out during the weekend more instead of the week.  I feel more awake after a good workout, but have more time over the weekend... Definitely need to work on time management...

Hello!

Hey Jenny!

Glad to read that you had a good day yesterday!

You know something I do that helps to keep track of all those good days?  Goes along with one of my favorite quotes "focus on progress, not perfetion".  I have a 3 month calendar posted on my office door.  Its sole purpose is to track my victories.   Reach my goals for the day, I get a smiley.  Don’t reach them, leave it blank.

I did this because I found myself getting discouraged often.  I could have done 20 days right, then mess up 2.  I would get off track.  Tell myself “I can never reach my goals, I was doing so well then blew it”, yada-yada-yada!  I was defeating myself.  Now I look up on my calendar and think, “yea – wasn’t such a great 2 days, but look at all of the ones I did right”.  I even take it a step further and challenge myself.  1 month filled, and I go buy a new dress for church, a new set of scrubs for work, or vitamins I want.  Incentives change often, just on what I want to work for.  It really does help.

I think your yesterday deserves a smiley!

Take care,

Alicia

spacing

The spacing is so wide on some of my posts because I use Word to type them.  (then copy and paste)  Didn't realize it was so crazy.    Will have to watch that better.

Great Idea

Thanks for the great idea, I will have to go get myself some stickers for my calendar.  I always let one little mistake turn into a huge deal, this will be a great way for me to keep things in perspective.  Thanks!
