Another pound down at the end of four weeks

After a full week of diet cheating, lounging around the house, and general apathy towards my goal, I was surprised to see that I had still lost a pound.  One pound.  How is that possible?

I tend to get cocky with stuff like this.  After my 6.2-pound loss last week, I had a voice in my mind saying things like, "You've already lost 15 pounds, you can afford to have that taco salad."  I'm fortunate to not have regained any weight, but I've got to keep my goal in my sights from now on.  Distraction leads to disaster.

I've been looking for a new place to live here in Kansas City, and my search isn't going well.  I've begun to look outside Kansas City, and I've been seriously considering moving to either Louisville, Ky., or Nashville, Tenn.  They seem like nice places.

Now that the winter blast is over (at least for now), I've taken advantage of the 50˚ temperatures and gone out to walk.  I'd like to get a bicycle someday, but I'll have to learn to ride one first.

Hello Justin It Will Be Alright !

Dear Justin ,

Wow that just so totally surprised me when I saw that you said you had thought seriously about moving to Knoxville Tenn. , or Louisville, Ken. They are both nice areas the water is not very good to drink in Kentucky if it has not changed but they are good people .I will say I think you will find some of the most hospital people you have ever met in these states N.C ,Tenn.,Ky & Va. but I am partial to N.C &  I am not being predjudice about  that  I will let you be the judge of that check out Hendersonville, NC also a nice place & 2 more places that is rapidly growing is Cherokee NC , & Historical  Murphy NC  & let me know if I can be of help I wish you good luck .Take Care of yourself

Stay focused....

Yes, we all tend to say oh we've lost X amount of pounds we can afford this or that.  But in reality we need to stay even more focused on our goals.  We can achieve whatever we set our minds to it...key element...SET OUR MINDS TO IT!  So congratulations on your 1 pound lost this week...be strong and stay focused so that you can lose 1, 2, 3 pounds next week.

Best of luck-

You are absolutely right..

I have the same thoughts. I will say hey I can eat this or skip  that workout  because I lost this much weight. The reality is that the reason I had weight to lose was because of that mentality. Remember we are changing not only our bodies but our minds.

Lazy week...

We all have those kind of weeks, especially w/the extra-crappy weather that's been hitting the midwest lately!  The good thing is is that you still lost!  16 pounds is awesome!!!!!  Louisville and Nashville are both great cities to live in.  I tend to like the "Kentuckiana" area b/c you've got Louisville, Cincinatti, Indiana and the Ohio River Area all there and there's a lot to do.  Of course, Nashville is music city and Tenn in general is beautiful, too!  Happy House Hunting!  You're doing great w/your weight loss!!!!!!

You're right

Lapse can lead to collapse.  Stay focused.  You can do this!  You know you can.

Have a great week and good luck with house hunting.

Sounds very

familiar to me.  I tend to spend alot of time justifying instead of looking at the whole picture.  Good luck on your search for a new place to live.
