Let's see. I didn't get any exercise. I was too busy, first of all, and if I wanted to walk outside we both would have keeled over from the heat. It was almost 100 degrees all weekend. Oh well.
As far as eating, I did ok. Friday I had some yummy authentic Italian pizza, there is none around here so I go there every couple of months. It's SO good. And then I had it for breakfast. But I did better the rest of the weekend. Not perfect, but I can't live in a hole forever.
I also got a new do, and I'm loving life. It's so great, my hair was thinning out due to pregnancy hormones finally leveling out. So it needed to be chopped off, so I also got my mom to highlight and low light it. :) She used to be a hair stylist so I got the hook up! 13 bucks for a haircut, and dye job. Score!
I'm back to my routine, and today I did an HOUR on the Wii. I wanted to walk, but DH is helping out the landlord (so we can get a discount on rent) and was outside mowing today. For like 5 hours (it was bad!), so no walk together. But I'm pooped, I did boxing, running, stepping and hula hoop.
Love it.
Anywho, the baby was really cranky today. I think she needed rest. She took a two hour nap, which is rare for her.. so I need to get off of here!
When you start working out, do you gain a little weight at first?
It drives me nuts. It makes me want to quit everything. But, when I weighed myself today, I was surprised I lost a pound. For the past two-three days I had gained back a pound.
I'm pressing on. I did 40 minutes of the Wii Fit. 25 minutes of step aerobics (you can click over to your TV while your remote clicks of the rhythm, very cool). 8 of punching a bag (fun!), and 6 hula hooping (which is tough after 3-4 minutes)
Weight loss is so frustrating. It should be easier for women. Men get it easy. Not fair!
We'll see what tomorrow brings. 2 more days till my "official" weigh in.
I'm going to chow down on my Subway, even though DH got regular mayo. It's a difference of two points. Dang it! lol
Well, I live in Eastern NC, and it was so gross outside. I HATE humidity, and refuse to work out in it if at all possible. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but that's what growing in the South does to a person.
Anywho, so I pulled out my Wii Fit. I did 30 minutes straight of aerobics activity, and 10 minutes of yoga. Go me!
Hopefully we can walk tomorrow night. I want to alternate what I do to work out different muscle groups. I'm already sore from last night's walking (I told you, I'm so out of shape).
As far as the WW thing, it's going good and getting easier everyday. I do splurge every couple of day so I won't binge. But I'm mainly staying below my daily points (23).
Slow and steady, Sam, slow and steady. I don't want to gain this weight back, so I have to keep telling myself the slower it comes off, less of a chance of it coming back.
It felt good to walk. DH decided to come with me, so we had a nice walk. The baby enjoyed it and was talking and cooing the whole time.
DH was like, you are really serious? I'm having a hard time keeping up! haha! :)
So I walked.. I'm guessing a mile and half or two miles. Dh is going to drive around the neighborhood and see how far it is.. 25 minutes of power walking. My thighs and calves are pulsing.
I hope I can keep this up. This will help me drop the weight as well as toning my fat butt.
On the weight front, I haven't dropped anymore. I have a sneaky suspicion its because the hag is still here and WON'T leave! I forgot to start my new pack, I was a day late.. so I'm paying for it now. Ugh.
I'll be thrilled to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight so I can concentrate on getting back in the 130's! :) I can't wait to feel good about myself.
Since yesterday, surprisingly I only gained one half a pound back. Which surprises me since the hag is here. So I'm officially saying 3lbs weight loss so far.
Yay, me.
I think I've got the "diet" part down. Next week I'm adding exercise. Blah. But I plan to use the Wii fit, and walking, and maybe some videos. It's been raining for 3 days straight, so there's been no walking for C and I. We occassionally go outside to break up the monotony.
3lbs down, 32 more to get to 130! Sounds like such a big number.
Well guess who decides to show up the day before my weigh-in.
Yes, my period. The stupid witch. I'm on birth control pills and it ALWAYS shows up the day before I start my new pack. (I'm on Yaz, there is only 4 sugar pills instead of 7).
But I weighed 161 this morning. So that's what I'm counting this week as, because I'm starting to bloat up. Darn it.
Well I've been following the diet strictly this week, and its been pretty easy so far.
Evenings are the hardest since I get this weird salty and sweet alternating craving. But I'm learning to deal with it. I've done a lot better than I thought I would. :)
I'm trying to get used to the diet before I start a work out routine. Not only do I need to lose weight but I'm so out of shape its not even funny. Jason and I went for a walk in the mountains up a very steep hill, I thought I was going to pass out after a minute. NOT good!
I want to look good and feel good! :)
So there we go.
P.S. I weighed myself (because I can't help myself) and I'm down another pound! Yay!
Kind of discouraging. But it's a loss. Plus I didn't try to hard. I'm sure it just a regular fluctuation. We'll see how next week goes.
I'm going on the diet completely on Monday. This weekend we are visiting the mountains in NC, and I just don't have everything figured out. BUT I did bring healthy snacks. So as long as I eat healthy at restaurants and not load up on pasta or anything. Everything should be fine.
Today I started Metformin/Glucophage. I have PCOS, and a high chance of diabetes. The PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) can make it hard for me to lose weight because my body likes to hold on to sugars and such. I took it before getting pregnant, to help regulate my cycles. And I had the pleasant side effect of weight dropping quicker than with just diet and exercise.
I NEED to be on it for my family history, but I can't help but hope it will help me lose weight. I tend to eat healthier while taking it, because eating things high in sugar and fat can cause a big tummy upset. Plus, you know, it can prevent some cysts from forming on my ovaries. Which is ALWAYS a good thing, those suckers are horrible when they burst.
I also discovered a love for cheddar rice cakes. Takes care of that salty craving, and its only one point!
Good Luck to everyone. I'm exhausted. I'm going to SLEEP.
Yesterday, we had Papa John's. Two slices of pizza = 11.5 points. But it was super yummy. I recommend the wheat crust. I usually try to stay 7-10 points for dinner.
I also had half a sweetreat, which was good. But not worth the points. It gave me awful heartburn. Let's just say, I used a big chunk of my flex points.
I'm doing much better today. I I found out my sugar free vanilla pudding is only one point. Which is a good snack when I want something sweet. Though nothing really takes the place of a piece of lemon pound cake. I am missing real sugar. But I know, in a few days I won't miss it at all. I do remember seeing some small lemon cakes made by weight watchers that were yummy, so I will pick some up today.
I munch on cucumbers (luckily they are in season, so they are ultra yummy and cheap) and sunflower seeds during the day for my salty craving. I'm not a big chip eater or anything so its not much different.
I've started drinking water and crystal light. I'm only going to drink sodas when we go out to eat which is rare in this house. That's my big weakness. Drinks with flavor.
I am hoping this will work for me. Tomorrow is my weigh in day. I hope to have lost a pound or two since I have cut back. Although it would be nice to lose the weight quickly, I know slow and steady weight gain is the best way to keep it off.
