Before After

So proud!!

Ok so this is the2nd day without soda.  I've got a headache, but that'sok.  I took a nap this afternoon to try to cut it.

Made brownies for hubby & daughter.  Boys can't have them ('cause they have  egg) so I'll have about a week to ~sniff~ the pan.

I do need to find another snack 'cause I'm getting hungry again.

Things that cannot be included:  egg, peanuts (or any nuts), and banana

I'm hungry so let me babble

So instead of eating I'm here to babble.  Babbling is what I do best!

I've talked with my doctor before about doing WLS, he said I have to do 6 months on a program like WW, NS, or JC. Thing is there is only WW up here and I don't really l ike the people that go to these groups.  It's all older people.  I really have nothing against older people it's just I'd like motivation &  support from people who know what I'm going thru. People who know what it's like to have 3 little kids at home to cook for.

Ugly Ugly Monday...

Dark and crappy  outside.  I just want to sit here and eat, but I've refrained from eating everything in sight.  I've done good today.

Helps figure out how many calories you need for the day...

For myself:

Calorie Need Calculator
How Many Calories Do You Really Need?

You'll need at least 2,925 calories to maintain your current weight and activity level.

Of this, 2,250 calories are required to meet your body's basic energy needs. That amount (your resting energy expenditure) is what you'd use up if you did nothing but lie in bed all day.

To lose about one pound per week, you'll need to cut back to 2,425 calories per day.

In theory, a pound of fat cells stores 3,500 calories. To lose that amount of fat, you'll have to eat 500 fewer calories per day than you need to maintain your current weight. It's most effective to do this by cutting down fat, because fat calories get stored in the body more easily than calories from carbohydrates or protein.

It's not very hard to cut 500 calories out of your diet. A half-cup serving of Ben & Jerry's ice cream packs a whopping 230 to 370 fatty calories, depending on the flavor (vanilla is at the low end, peanut-butter cup at the top). If you pick nonfat frozen yogurt instead, you'll get only 120 to 140 sugary calories. Leaving that ounce of cheese off your sandwich will trim 100 to 115 calories, and you can cut out 100 sneaky calories by flavoring your potatoes and other vegetables with spices instead of a tablespoon of butter.

To lose weight more efficiently and keep it off, you should also exercise regularly, burning excess calories and converting fat to muscle. You can expect to lose at least a pound per week on this lower number of calories; depending on how much you exercise, you could take off even more.

Some general notes:
We use a formula based on data drawn from research on adults (see below). It may not give accurate results for children and teenagers.
If you have trouble maintaining, gaining, or losing weight, you could have a medical problem, such as an overactive or underactive thyroid or constricted arteries. It's worth scheduling a checkup from your doctor.
Certain medications, including corticosteroids and antidepressants, can also make you gain weight. If you're on such a drug, changing the amount you eat may not be enough to get you to your weight goal.

Friends Are Welcome

Friends are always welcome.  If you want to add me to your list - please feel free.

I'm just making my way around this site so it'll take me a little while.

Kids need diaper changes and it's almost time for oldest to head to ballet.

BBL

Motivation

The short term goal is what I'm really going for.
I want to ~try~ to lose 40lbs by August 14th (29th birthday).
Our family reunion is August 17-19.
I want to be able to participate a little instead of officiating the games.
There are only 2 places where I can see the overall ticker, but everywhere that I can see my main goal one.

I  don't want to get depressed with not seeing a result.  Seeing the 3lbs gone on the ticker now makes me excited!  I know I can do it!

Loser!

Yes it's what I feel like.  I cannot really stick to anything forverylong, but dang it I"m going to do it this go around.  I want to be able to tak the kids to the amusement parks, zoos, and all that fun stuff and actually be able to participate with them!

Oh....FYI....Got on the scale this morning - 337.2 (3.2lb loss) in just a matter of a few days cutting back on the soda!

Today's goal is the whole day without soda.
