Much Better
Well today was a much better day with my food! I ate healthy stuff all day and didn't go over on my calorie count. I haven't felt great today and I know it's because of all of the junk I ate yesterday. So, tomorrow is Monday and I'm back in business. I think I'll put the dogs in the sunroom so I can get a good night's sleep. They've gotten me up the past two nights. I hope everyone has a great week!

Perspective
This is my 12th straight day of exercise. Tonight, I was on the treadmill for seventeen minutes and did eight tenths of a mile. However, I had my niece and nephew with me today and took them to Mazzios for lunch. I also got the oreo crunch dessert pizza that I'm hooked on and ate FIVE pieces! That's ridiculous! I also ate two popcorn balls when I got home. Here I was getting so close to my goal and I have done terrible on eating this weekend. However, I decided to regain my perspective and tell myself that I would do better tomorrow. As the rain comes down (the remnants of Ike), I'm reminded that there are many people that don't have a home tonight on the Texas and Louisiana coast and elsewhere. My thoughts and prayers need to be with them.

Tired
I exercised today and I did well on my eating until tonight. I had two squares of dark chocolate and two diet cokes and about two hours later (when shopping at Wal-Mart) I was really hungry.. I came home and ate two bowls of cereal....not good! I should have thought about the chocolate, sugar, and caffeine making my blood sugar drop. When that happens you get ravenous. I usually try to have some protein fairly often to keep that feeling away. Oh well, tomorrow is another day! Have a great weekend!

Step One
Ok, Step One in eating more fruits and vegetables~I bought the canteloupe. That was about three days ago. Now, I have to cut up the canteloupe and I haven't been in the mood to do that. I won't be home until later tomorrow night so I'll plan on doing that on Saturday. Now, that's pretty lame. I better get with it! I did well on my eating today and did 34 minutes on the treadmill and did 1.7 miles. However, I don't think I have any incline at all. MissyBelle has 1.0 incline and I'm sure that makes a big difference. Whoa! I'm not too good on hills! LOL! I am really enjoying the treadmill now that I use the ipod with it. I've got some of those things that look like big rubber bands that I'm going to try out exercising with on Saturday (just as soon as I cut up that canteloupe!). Can you tell I'm new at this? I don't know the name of those things! I've got to read up on the book that came with the big rubber bands! Anyway, I know they are supposed to build strength and I need that! I Feel Lucky!!!
I overslept this morning so I didn't have time to exercise but I had a small headache and told my husband that if I could just get on the treadmill for five minutes that would help my headache. He thought I'd lost my mind because he's never heard something like that come out of my mouth! I exercised for five minutes and my headache went away. I went to work and after several activities, I came home tired. I got on the treadmill with my ipod and listened to Mary Chapin Carpenter's "I Feel Lucky" song twice! I just love that song! I exersized for 17 minutes tonight so I have a total of 22 minutes today and I've done well on my eating. I feel lucky to have such great buddies on ep! You are an inspiration to me! I've just never been able to be consistent with eating well and with exercising before! I know I need to change up my exercise routine and I'm going to work on that. MissyBelle is right about exercising in the morning. I need to work on that one too! Rocky signing off! LOL!

Major Whiner to Rocky Balboa!
This is day three of being sick so I missed work again today. I had a bad headache all day and still had a little fever. I slept most of today which is very unusual for me. So I was totally dreading exercise! I was a major whiner! I know why I've never been able to stick with exercise, I think. I mean if one little thing was wrong with me, I just didn't want to deal with it. This is Day seven of exercising everyday so I couldn't quit and MissyBelle always inspires me! So I got up this afternoon, poor pitiful Pearl, and thought that I had to get rid of this headache. I took more medicine and had a hot bath. It lessened the headache. I got on that treadmill and did 17 minutes and 8 tenths of a mile. I just plugged in that ipod and took off. I couldn't believe how good I felt after I'd done it! I even danced to a cd after that! I felt like Rocky Balboa when he was running up those steps! Granted, he did a lot more than I had but it was certainly a victory for me! I'm hoping to help out the pink team this week instead of hurting them like last week! I hope you all are having a great week. I feel so much better tonight, I will probably go to work tomorrow!!!

Observations
Hi All,
Well, I had fever and a cough so I stayed home from work today. I wasn't in the mood to exercise but I am doing a challenge of exercising 21 days straight. MissyBelle got me motivated and I got on the treadmill for 17 minutes and did about 3/4 of a mile. I didn't go very fast but was proud of myself that I did any exercise feeling the way I did. I just knew I'd be coughing a lot on the treadmill but I wasn't. In the past, if I was sick, it was a given that I would just forget exercise. I decided to give up television this week just to see what it would be like and it's been interesting. I would have to say it's given me more time to read and do a crossword puzzle. I never could do those "cryptoquotes" and I finished one today! I know why! In the past, I would have just gotten a little frustrated with it and turned the tv on. I didn't do that today and it was pretty cool. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Not Much Exercise
I didn't do much exercise today~about 10 minutes so I could say I did exercise on my 21 day challenge. The ragweed is terrible right now and I have a deep cough and feel crummy. I just wasn't up to it today. However, I did very well on my eating which is amazing. Usually, when I feel crummy, I just eat gobs of cinnamon toast~must be because it was comfort food in my childhood! I hope you all had a good weekend! I can't believe Monday is almost here:(

Celebrations
Things went well today! I did a mile and a half on the treadmill and I did well on my eating. I had my whole family over tonight for burgers, ice cream, and buttermilk pie. It was my Dad's birthday. I've decided on the celebrations, I will eat what other people are eating~just smaller portions. I had a burger, no chips, no ice cream, and three bites of my sister's buttermilk pie. That buttermilk pie is so awesome. It has coconut in it and it is delicious! Well, I'm pooped and going to bed. I hope you girls enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Wooooo Hooooooo!
This is Day 4 of my "21 Straight Days of Exercise" and for two of those days, I've done two 15 minute sessions on the treadmill. I plan to exercise twice today too. I've done one session so far. Remember, I'm the couch potato so this is big for me to exercise at all consistently. I'm only doing this because of MissyBelle's challenge to me and my other ep friends encouraging words. You guys are great! Yesterday was "Birthday Cake Day" at work where people bring all kinds of food. I just ate my yogurt with 1/4 cup of roasted peanuts mixed in and I was happy. I always have an afternoon snack too and a larger supper. I didn't touch the wonderful desserts because if I start, I can't stop. Last night, I went out with my two buddies and ate at Chili's and behaved there. When we went to the movie, I ate one square of the Lindt's dark chocolate with chili pepper in it and drank a diet coke. That chocolate is wonderful and one square satisfies and I can stop. Here's the kicker....After I got home from grocery shopping after dinner and a movie~I got on the treadmill! I knew I couldn't let MissyBell down and you guys! I'm determined to have a loss this week instead of gaining like last time. Remember girls, this is a new week! Go pinks!
