Before After

Little Sister and Cracked Pepper Triscuits!

Well, these two things have nothing to do with each other!  I just wanted you all to know that my little sister joined ep.  Her name is Shyful.  She is my little sister because she's ten years younger than me.  However, she's five inches taller than me.  Dang!  I'm on my second day of my second "4 Day Win".  I've been exercising 22 minutes a day and not eating more than 1,400.  I didn't get the exercise done today though.  It was too nuts and I'm too tired now.  I got up too late to exercise this morning and didn't sit down until now.  My parents came over to eat tonight.  It was fun though.  I did great on my eating though.  I thought I would let you all know that those cracked pepper Triscuits are a satisfying snack.  You can eat 6 of them and I think it's 120 calories and they are really good.  I hope everyone is having a great week!

Day Four and Trim Down the Activities

I've just finished my first "Four Day Win" which was to eat about 1300-1400 calories a day and exercise 20 minutes everyday.  I have also resolved to "trim down" some of my activities so I don't feel so much stress.  I have quit two activities at church and I feel good about it.  Sometimes, you can just get too over programmed.  I think we need to make allowance for some down time.  Tomorrow will be the same goals for the next "Four Day Win" plus I will exercise 22 minutes a day.  Hold me to it!  Good luck to everyone!

Don't Look Back!!!

Ok, I feel like Oprah.  I'm mad at myself for gaining back all of the weight.  I mean I had lots of food in the past two weeks.  I was stressed and tired and just gave up.  However, I'm not looking back anymore!  It's a new year and I'm only looking forward.  Today, I got back on that treadmill and did a mile and watched my calories.  I am determined to see my weight graph go down instead of up.  I think we have to take time for ourselves in order to be successful at weight loss.  I read about that in Oprah's magazine and there is so much truth to that.  I'm starting one of my four day wins today!  Happy New Year, Everybody!!!!!!!!

Exciting!

Yesterday, I weighed and I had gained about three pounds.  I knew I had gained but didn't want to face it.  Today, I've lost a little already and I'm on my third day of exercise and had several NSVs.  Last night, I went out with my friends at The Olive Garden and I just ate the salad.  It was really good.  Usually, I'm all into the alfredo sauce but I didn't get any last night.  Today, my husband and I were at some friends' house and they made sundaes for us.  I told them I would just have a banana instead.  Exercise is really helping with my appetite.  I can tell it really helps elevate my mood also.  I've heard that for many years but never really got it.  I'm pretty excited!!!!

Progress

Ok, I was not happy with myself because I've eaten a lot in the last week or so.  I decided since I have at least eight days until the next Christmas party that I could eat healthy and exercise until then.  I'm hoping I won't be as likely to eat too much after doing well for a week.  I haven't gotten on the scales for awhile.  I know I've gained because my pants are tighter than they were!  Maybe I'll be brave and weigh tomorrow.  I would be happy if I could just maintain what I was (before last week) until after January 1st and then go down from there.  I got up today and did a mile on the treadmill and I've done well with my eating today.  I'm trying another "Four Day Win".  I just make goals for four days at a time.  For the next four days, I'm going to do a mile on the treadmill and watch the calories.  I'm going to take better care of myself.  I need to relax more and sleep more.  For another incentive, I have a friend that is also on ep and we are in the same town!  I hope you all are taking care of yourselves.  It's hard to do that this time of year!

Parties, etc.

I'm sorry I haven't been on here for awhile.  I've just gotten discouraged with the pace of the season and me losing focus.  Every time I turn around, there's a party and lots of food.  Before I go, I say I'll be reasonable and then I eat too much.  I haven't been exercising because I'm just tired with everything going on.  I know that's a cop out because I feel better when I do exercise.  I love Christmas but it wears me out too.  I'm so impressed that you all are keeping up your exercise and watching your food intake.  I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things and post again at least by Saturday.

Challenging Time of Year!!!

Ok, this is such a challenging time of year!!!  I mean food is everywhere you look and it's not just so, so food either.  It's wonderful food!!!  Today at church, we had an early Thanksgiving dinner.  I had chocolate cake and a cookie.  I didn't pig out on the lunch but I didn't need dessert.  Also, I can feel the velocity of the holidays gearing up.  We have got to try to get enough rest during this time or we will blow it.  I just counted up that I will be going to four Christmas parties between now and the end of the year.  We know what it coming up on Thursday too!  Anybody have any ideas as to how you are going to handle these festivities?  I am inspired by my new book but this time of year is really testing me!

Week Two

A few posts back, I was going to start the 21 Day Challenge again and not worry about the scales.  Then, I dug out my "Four Day Win" book and changed my tune.  I love working out through the week and trying the strategies in the book.  I'm taking weekends off from working out.  The book really helps me think about only eating when I'm hungry. Also, I have weighed and have lost about a pound and a half.  I think we all have to find what works for us and go with it.  I love hearing about how other people are losing weight.  We need each other.  I hope everyone is having a great week!

~Inspired~

I am totally inspired this week because of Martha Beck's book~"The Four Day Win".  It just approaches weight loss in a whole new way.  It is helping me lessen anxiety and stress eating.  I've done great with food this week and I've exercised Monday through Thursday.  I may try to take weekends off on the exercise unless I start going downhill with my eating.  I'll try to check some blogs later this weekend.  I'm off to a party and I will control myself!  Have a great weekend!

Four Days

I'm sorry I haven't been on this week.  I started out well on my exercising and didn't do well on eating and the exercising went by the wayside too.  I'm trying a new thing this week.  I pulled out my "Four Day Win" book about the psychology of losing weight.  It also talks about how we need to divide things into four day segments because we have short attention span and can get overwhelmed.  That's me!  I'm also forgetting about the scales for awhile and just doing the inches thing like GCQmom talked about.  I also have a new motivation.  My cholesterol is high and my doctor said I was going to have to watch the fats.  I just hope that doesn't make me want to go eat all of the fat I can get!  LOL!!!!  Have a great week!  I will exercise for the next four days and eat reasonably!
