Benefits of Exercise

I can't believe my title because I'm just getting into exercise on a consistent basis.  In the past, I've exercised for a week or two and quit many times.  This time, I want the habit to stick.  I slept in a little later this morning!  LOL!  I did well on my food today.  When I say this, I don't mean everything I eat is lettuce and yogurt.  If I'm in the mood for pizza or Mexican food, I have it.  I just try to keep within the right calorie range for the day.  I think it helps to really taste each bite.  I think it helps to eat something that is really satisfying.  Tonight, I did a mile on the treadmill in 18:45 minutes.  I felt so good afterwards.  Exercise lifts your mood and just makes you feel more alive, I think.  It also makes you drink more water.  I was tired tonight and didn't feel like exercising but I am learning that the hardest part of exercising is stepping on that treadmill~just starting.  Also, if I didn't have an ipod, that would make it a lot harder for me.  Well, I could be writing you tomorrow and be totally out of control~ but today has been a good day.  I hope yours was too!

I've noticed that we're often on here at the same actual time!!  That's nice! 

About my planned "fast."  The reason I want to fast is that it usually make me free from the grip of any foods that I seem to be "stuck" on.  The Bible also talks about it 'breaking bonds.'  By the time I get off a fast and get back to eating, I'm grateful just to be able to eat a meal!!!!

I've fasted enough times before, that, I don't get headaches anymore when I do it.   Fasting is good for giving your digestive organs a rest, too.

I think that, after I do this next one, that I'm going to do a (sea)- "salt-water flush."  That helps 'clean you out.'   Then, I'll take a good probiotic!!

Don't worry  ---  when I start back eating, I'll be careful to eat something light and easy to digest.  THEN, I think I'll try eating those small meals throughout the day.

So, don't worry about me, okay?  Anyways, I can't do it until sometime next week.  (I've GOT to break this over-eating/over-snacking thing!!!  I just HAVE to!!!)

Have I told you how proud I am of you???    Well, I am!!!   You are really in the process of becoming an exerciser for LIFE!!!!  I'm SO happy for you, Michelle!!!   

It means so much to me that you're my friend.  I think we're becoming good friends, aren't we?!!  Oh, yeah!!

I'm totally with you on that - my mood is often SO much better if I've been working out and my body just feels better too. Last evening I really wasn't in the mood for a walk, but I went anway and ended up running two kilometers! I felt great after! I used to hate to workout, but now I can't do without it!

is definitely a necessity for me too. It helps the time go by and if I get into a groove with a good song it really pushes me to keep going. You are doing well! Keep it up!

You are soooo right.  The first few steps are the hardest.  When I exercise consistently I feel so much better and my stress levels are much more manageable.  Yet once I stop exercising I seem to get amnesia about why I was exercising in the first place. 

Finding something fun like dancing helps too, then you don't feel like you are exercising.  : )
