Before After

144.0

I'm off today .. one more weigh in before I leave.  let's see how it looks after 5 days of Christmas celebrations with extended family.

I did it! ... so far

I had a proud day yesterday when I managed to eat a normal sized Christmas dinner and not have seconds.  This is really new for me.  I come from a family where it's normal to have dinner twice in the form of the first helping and then a second equally as big second helping.  Well yesterday, Christmas day, I had one helping.  I ate slowly and enjoyed ever morsel but then I stopped.

Then this morning I weighed in at 144.6.  Tomorrow I'm off to my in-laws for 5 days and there comes the real test.  Wow, can they cook but they use about a lb of butter a day in their cooking.  We'll see the results when I get back.  Wish me luck!

Merry Christmas!

I am away visiting family and offline until the new year where my goal is to weigh in at 145.0 or less!

May you all have a wonderful holiday and my you have the strength to make good choices.  :-)

Mmmmm

I have 5 extended family dinner in the next week and my goal is not to gain.  This is how I am going to manage.

1) I am going to eat extra turkey but not the skin.

2) as much veggies as I want

3) No mashed potatoes

4) No dessert

5) Eat the shrimp and nuts for the horderves, skip the crackers, chips and dip.

Hope this works!  Wish me luck.

The Flu...

Well at least I won't have to worry about eating too much .. not that I'm burning any calories either.  I'm out for the count for a few days.

Living in a snow Globe

Just think, winter doesn't even start until December 21st and we've already had more snow than all of last year combined.  At least snow bring exercise.  I'm maintaining these past few days.  Trying to eat with balance but not overdoing it.  I'm going to try and get down lower again after Christmas.  My goal between now and Christmas is not to gain.  I want to have a weigh in on Jan 2nd (when I get back from holidays) of 145 lbs or less.  That's my short term goal for now.

Brrr!

I got my exercise in again today in the form of shoveling.  Got my heart rate up too!  I've been eating well and resisting temptation but allowing balance and a few treats here and there.  the trick is stopping at one.  I went out for lunch today and was really proud of myself for the healthy meal I ordered (a big bowl of soup).  It was probably too salty but other than that, quite healthy and warm and filling.

Snowed in.

We are completely snowed in today.  At least I spent a good hour shoveling!  The kids are going stir crazy.  I'm going stir crazy.  Last night we had a birthday party for my hubby.  Now there is a lot of left over cake in the house.  The temptation is strong.  My weight is up a little again today.  That motivates me to make good choices.  I'm trying to stay encouraged.

Veggie free.

There wasn't a fruit or veggie in site last night.  It was all truffle, and fudge, and chips, and cookies, and sweet drinks.  Oh, dear.  I didn't do well.  I didn't over eat but I ate bad things and now I feel full and bloated and it's the next morning.  I want to be healthy and strong but I'm not living like I'm healthy and strong.  That needs to change.  Now.

Christmas party!

I'm going to a Christmas party tonight.  Wish me luck!  haha  I have to give myself some grace to mess up every once in a while.  I figure if I make good choices 90% of the time, I'll be better off than what I was doing before where I was only making good choices 25% of the time.

or this????

It's all about the balance.  I have to ask myself, when I wake up tomorrow which one will I have wished I had?
