Before After

First mini goal achieved!

For the last couple of days, I couldn't help but jump on the scales of a morning to see the numbers -- I'm so close to 90kgs, I just HAD to see if it was slowly going down.

And for the first time in I don't know how many years, I'm under.

89.4 !!!!!!!!!!

Next goal is 85kgs. Wish me luck!

Weigh in Monday

Finally, a 1kg loss. I am very happy!

Next goal - 90kgs. Hopefully by next Monday.

After watching the Aussie version of the Biggest Loser last night, where most of the contestants lost around 1.5ks-2kgs, or GAINED weight, I'm extremely proud to have lost 1kgs.

Sadly I did not get to do my walk yesterday as I was busy with other plans, however I'll get back on that treadmill this afternoon when I'm home from work.

Hope your week starts off well, too!

Still Around!

I'm coming up to the end of term at work and it's taking all my energy out of me! Lately I've been falling into bed at 9pm and sleeping through to 7am. Just so tired!

Went out for dinner last night, ate grilled chicken with veggies which was yum. It's so nice to go out and choose nicer options - usually my meal would be anything fatty with chips!

I'm also giving away any chocolate presents my kids at school buy me, which is a big step. Still frustrated that there don't seem to be big improvements, but I'm learning to appreciate the little things. Maybe my stomach does seem a little smaller this week? If only I could get rid of the big bulge down the bottom, it's like a Homer Simpson belly!

But, I'm doing alright. Looking forward to two weeks of school holidays coming up, where I would usually go overboard. Nope, this time it's going to be much different!

Tonight is a barbeque at a friend's place, I'll let myself have a glass of wine or two and stay away from the nibblies! Have a great weekend, all. :)

Headachey

Tonight, all I have to say is that the Lean Cuisine lowfat lasagne is the perfect frozen meal when you are feeling sick and tired.

Still positive, still trudging through every day! Haven't missed a day of 30 minute walking in nearly two weeks. :)

A bit bummed.

I've worked my backside off this week - and as of last Thursday I was 91.4kgs. I was happy with this, it is the lowest I have been in ages.

Today though - on my Monday morning official weigh in? I am STILL 91.4kgs!  Totally not what I was hoping for, especially since I've exercised every single day this week.

Won't get disheartened. I am still a couple of kilograms smaller than I was at the start of all this. It's just a bit of a letdown, since I'm doing so well.

Continued thanks to all the lovely people sending well wishes. I'm adding each of you to my friends list (eventually!) so I can come back and visit you more often.

More on Me

Alrighty - back again, with a bit more time this morning. I must say, it was a lovely surprise to wake up this morning and have four messages waiting for me in my inbox. How nice is that? Thankyou, ladies.

As you might know, I'm Aly. I'm 22 years old, live in Australia and have been quite overweight for a long time. I'm pretty tall and solid in stature, so I convinced myself that my weight wasn't unhealthy for my size - until I realised that my Size 14 frame was now a Size 18 frame, and that I weighed close to 100kgs.

I am a primary school teacher, and I was being asked by the littlies at school when I was going to have my baby. That was a shock for me - those kids see my figure, and assume I'm pregnant! Isn't it scary how we can tell ourselves that everything is fine, until we get a scary wake up call? I can't believe I have been so big for so long, and that I was content with it.

I've done diets before, they haven't worked. Now, I'm not dieting persay. I'm just watching what goes into my mouth, and cutting out the crap. I officially started looking after myself in January, however had an overseas vacation for three weeks where it was hard to monitor my weight. In February, I suffered a three week long bout of glandular fever, meaning I have been very tired and unable to exercise well.

Feeling much better now, and in the mood to get fitter! I actually don't mind exercise. It's more a motivation thing.. I like to get routines started, and that's what I plan to do. I'm lucky to have a fantastic treadmill here at home, as well as a gym close by. I actually prefer the solitude of walking for 30 minutes here at home, instead of in front of a gym full of people. It's nice to have both options available, though.

My first mini goal is to hit 90kgs. I'm breaking it down, so I see success. I know I'm in for the long haul, this time. 90kgs and I'll treat myself to a (non food) reward. After that, who knows?

I'm a regular blogger at two websites outside of extrapounds. The first is a (somewhat) anonymous one, where I talk occasionally about my weight. The second is a random public blog, where I talk about anything and everything. Feel free to check those out.

I'm content to leave this blog as is, and hope to meet some support networks here that'll keep me going! Have a great day, everyone!

An Introduction.

I'm Aly, and this is my first play-around with this website. I'll add more later, for now I've filled in my weight loss/gains (ack!) since January 1st, 2007 as well as my current exercise tracker.

More to come later..
