Before After

Tuesday Bandwagon Week 2!

Can I be on the bandwagon again this week? I'm feeling GOOD!

Maybe it was actually losing this week that's cheered me up, but I'm very psyched this week, hoping to do good things. I did my 3k walk in 30 minutes again, ready for C25k tomorrow night. My shins are aching a bit though, but I think it's from running two nights in a row - I knew there was a reason I was spacing them out. I don't want to push myself and then have to stop.

Nothing special today - my prac student finishes up tomorrow and I'm sad... because she was great AND because that means as of Thursday, *I* have to do all the work teaching again! I have been spoiled for the past few weeks. :) I hope to get another prac student in Term 4, I really like explaining the ropes of classroom teaching to others. Especially since I'm still a relatively new teacher as well (second year out of uni) so I feel I can relate to the stress of assignments and prac and all that.

Food:
2 x toast w/ low fat marg & veg
strawberry light fruche
banana sandwich (2x bread)
quiche lorraine for dinner
hot chocolate

Exercise:
3km walk in 30 minutes.

See you all tomorrow! (Are we counting down til Friday yet? I am!)

It's so quiet..

I hope that means my Aussie friends are busy out enjoying their long weekend. I'm not looking forward to back to work tomorrow ...

Today I just had to share, as well as my good news regarding my weight, I did a 45 minute Couch 2 5k workout today, and totalled 5kms exactly in that time. :) Here's how it looked:

10 minutes warm up WALK
5 minute run
5 minute walk
5 minute run
5 minute walk
3 minute run
3 minute walk
3 minute run
3 minute walk
3 minute cool down WALK

And I'm not dead. Yet. Hehe. (Sneaked a peak at the scales just before I hopped in my shower and am still in the 84 range, whooppeeeeee!) Now I'm off for dinner at Jason's to celebrate. See you tomorrow!

OMG !!! :)

This time last week, I was 86.8kgs.

I just weighed in - 84.8kgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a 2kg loss, and I'm am SO SO SO SO happy! I got off and back on again a few times, but yep! 84.8kgs. Incredible! That's 186lbs, give or take a few pounds. I'm finally going DOWN! (If this isn't enough to keep me good with my TOM here this week, I don't know what is!)

Here are some stats;

Highest Weight: 95.8kgs (March)
Current Weight: 84.8kgs (June)
Loss: 11kgs.
To goal of 80 kgs: 4.8kgs.

So in just over three months, I have lost 11kgs. That's 24lbs. It's averaging to be less than a kg a week, but that's okay -- nothing crazy, no BIG gains, and mostly consistant losses.

I'm coming to get you, 80kgs!! Maybe by my birthday - July 31st. :)

I love long weekends..

Why can't every Sunday evening feel like this? No stress, no waking up early, I could get used to this, that's for sure.

I've had a good non-scale moment today, and the first thing I thought of was to come here and blog about it. I'm a weirdo, apparently, but that's how much I love talking to you guys. As you might know, after recovering from the horrible head cold from the last two weeks, I started back on my exercising every day kick as of Monday. (3 days of Couch to 5k, 3 days of brisk walking, alternated.) When I'm on a roll, I usually give myself Sunday off - a) to let my muscles recover and to be ready to go with the next running milestone on the Monday, or b) because I'm tired and simply need a rest!

Today though, I was feeling extra slouchy - it's that time of the month, the cramps have come on with a vengeance and I just keep thinking about food, ack! So I kept putting off the thought of exercising, no, I don't really want to, I'll wait until tomorrow, one night isn't going to hurt. But you know what? Tomorrow morning is weigh-in (my first one back since the gain) and I'm excited. I want to know where I'm at. I *know* I've been good, I have high hopes, and why not exercise once more? It's only half an hour..

So at 6pm I lugged myself onto the treadmill and started off on my walk, which I did at 6k/hour for 10 minutes. Since I was already there, I decided to have a brief jog as well, which I did. I was aiming for 3 minutes, because that's my current C25K interval, but as I was reaching that I realised I wasn't that tired, so decided to aim for 5 minutes. Believe it or not, I kept going, not feeling too badly. By 9 minutes I was feeling it, but I kept at it - and I ran for 10 minutes straight! :) The best thing, I ran about 1.3kms all up in that 10 minutes, which is pretty cool. I went back to walking at 6k/hour for another five minutes, had a 2 minute jog, and then stopped at 30 minutes total.

But I can run! For 10 minutes without stopping! That is such a huge thing, I'm so excited about that. And I'm glad I forced myself to get on that treadmill and just 'have a go'. Look what happened! Tomorrow I start Week 4, back to 3/5 minute intervals, and I *know* I can achieve them. Woohoo!

As for food, Jase and I cooked the best homemade pizza last night, and J did such a good job buying low fat ingredients! He even hunted down light mozarella so that our cheese wouldn't be too unhealthy, AND he enjoyed it. That's the best part, since he's not a pizza person.

Breakfast: Strawberry Fruche
Lunch: 2 slices leftover homemade pizza (yum!)
Snack: 600ml water
Dinner: To be determined!

I am about to go have dinner, and I'm thinking it's going to be either a) a bowl of porridge (it's cold!) or b) a frozen lowfat lasagne, because I'm tired and cold and it's already 8pm.

Wish me luck for tomorrow morning's weigh-in! I want to see an 8 and a 5 in there somewhere! :)

Miserable Saturday

I'm so glad I'm not on a low-carb diet because I would have well and truly blown it today! I've been having a bread craving.. considering my TOM is due tomorrow, it's not a real surprise. But all carbs aside, I'd rather be eating bread than going out and splurging on crap like McDonalds, which is what I would have done in the past. (I used to actually sneak food upstairs so that my parents wouldn't know I'd bought take away food ... again. Shameful, yes?)

So I've eaten toast for breakfast, a toasted banana sandwich for lunch and then had another sandwich with a hot chocolate about half an hour ago. And I'm STILL hungry! I warned Jase that I was in a splurging mood, so he suggested we create our own homemade pizza, so it feels like we're being naughty instead of actually eating crap. I have a frozen pizza base ready, and the lovely boy is going to go shopping to buy all of the ingredients - yay! He's also going to grab some bananas, light yoghurt and sugar-free lemonade for me to snack on over the next few days, so I don't go silly on junk.)

As for the pizza, we're boring, so we're going to stick to ham and pineapple with light cheese on top. Hooray! I'm looking forward to dinner already and it's only 4pm!

I also kicked myself up the butt and made myself walk on the treadmill today, even though it was so cold ... and I'm glad I did it earlier in the day because I'm feeling much lazier now. I might snuggle up in bed and watch some Buffy episodes for a while and have a hot shower later. It's that kind of weekend, very very lazy! I was glad to see Jase last night, we made enchiladas for dinner and I ended up falling asleep while laying on his lap as he/we watched the football. (My team lost, poor Panthers, playing in the pouring rain!) He woke me up at about 11pm and I was snoring away again upstairs in no time! :)

I'm so determined NOT to let my TOM get the best of me this week... so I'm going to be very conscious about what I shove in my mouth. You have no idea how badly I want to hit the 85kg range... and then 84kgs... and so on and so on!! Time to update my normal blog, so I'll stop talking now. Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

Hallelujah, Friday!

Dinner last night didn't end up being great - parents ordered BBQ spare ribs, so I snacked on about 5 of those plus one baked potato and a stick of corn. I know it could've been worse, but I have absolutely no idea what's in any of that stuff, so bleh. I also ate 3 Cadbury Roses chocolates.. but they were totally worth it!

Today I have been running late ALL DAY LONG! My alarm didn't go off, I didn't have time to eat breakfast, I ran out of phone credit because I forgot to recharge, my petrol tank EMPTY light started flashing, I had to give my parents a super quick going away hug.. it's just been late late late. Suffice it to say, I'm left feeling tired after all of it! Very, very tired! So tired that I was tempted to not see Jase tonight and to just snuggle myself into bed with a hot chocolate and a book, and listen to the rain outside. See how tempting? But then I figured snuggling with the boy would be even better.. so Jase wins!

I finished Week 3 of Couch 2 5k again - which is good news. I know it seems like I've been stuck on Week 3 forever, my exercise log keeps reminding me! But at least as of Sunday OR Monday, I'm back to my Week 4 (3 minute runs/walks and then 5 minute runs/walks - oh my!)

Food today:
Weight Watchers Diced Fruit Snack
Green Apple
4 Vitawheat crackers with vegemite
Cup of rice noodles with carrot & onion (Vietnamese canteen food, yummy.)
Half a yoghurt.

I'm very tired, and this house already seems very empty without my folks around - but I'm looking forward to some quiet time of an evening and that's that! Hoping you are enjoying (or soon to enjoy) your Friday wherever you are!

Thursday Bandwagon

Thanks Kelly, for popping over to my other blog! It's nice to see a visitor! :)

Today has been okay day - same old, same old, boring BORING same old. Not sure what's on the plan for dinner tonight since it's my parents last night home before their big trip and they're too busy packing to have even got anything out and defrosted! We'll see.

My awesome joggers gave me a blister today - and I've had them and worn them well for a year. GRR. I walked for 30 minutes, did 3.2kms in that time which I'm happy with. My eyes are very blurry today, which is a worry.

Food: (Anyone seeing a pattern here? I'm very monotonous!)

2x toast w/ low fat marg and vegemite
Light Fruche
WW bar
Chicken & Capsicum Stirfry w/ cup of boiled rice.

BRING ON THE LONG WEEKEND. I'm exhausted!

I Need Your Help!

Like a lot of people on here probably have.. I have my own personal blog where I talk about other things aside from weight loss.

http://alyndabear.typepad.com/ramblings/

I submitted it for a review the other week, and finally got it back - and I've found the reviewer has given me some pretty harsh feedback. So I need your help, Extrapound friends!

If you can spare a few minutes, pop on over my personal blog and a) Read the review, and b) Soothe my big deflated ego a little bit because I don't think my writing is like that woman says at all! At least I hope it isn't! Thanks in advance, everyone.

Back on this afternoon for a food update! =)

Wednesday Bandwagon!

I love that word -- bandwagon!

Another day, another day, another day... but one step closer to the weekend! I still live at home with my parents at the moment, and they're heading off for a month-long vacation to the US of A as of this Friday, so it'll DEFINITELY be me in control of myself without any support -- mum is usually a really good inspiration, since she lost about 10kgs and has kept it off for months.

But I'm hoping that by the time they come back in early July, I'll look different to how I do now! Maybe I'll be a step closer to my goals. :)

Today's food:
2x toast w/ low fat marg and vegemite
Green Tea
Light vanilla fruche yoghurt
Weight Watchers Bar
Green Apple
Ham and Cheese Sandwich, toasted
Low fat frozen lasagne for dinner.

I have followed Kelly's lead with seeking the low calorie hot chocolate packet mixes, so they're going to be my late night snack from now on -- I'm going to try to limit my eating after dinner. And sadly, it's getting too cold for icecream, unless you microwave it to melt it first. (I'm so weird.)

I went back a week (after NO exercise from eyesight and head cold) on Couch to 5k, so I am doing Week 3 (90 second walk, jog, 3 minute walk, jog) for the third time all up! I just didn't want to throw myself back into week 4 (five minute jogging intervals, ack!) without warming myself up to it again. So I am getting back into it, slowly. =)
