Catching Up

Ok, after a few days off blogging, I'm catching up on your last few posts. First of all, cheese. I know that everything you said about it is true. I know it's fattening, leaches calcium from the bones, and also (which you didn't say) is extremely hard for our  bodies to digest. And yet I love cheese. I try to keep it to a minimum and most of what I do eat is goat cheese (since goat milk is closer in  structure to human milk, it's easier to digest). Ah well, excuses, excuses. ;)

Also, having lived abroad before, I know how hard it is to be on a different continent from your family. I won't try to say anything to "make it all better". I just wanted to say I have a small inkling of what you're going through, and I hope you're doing better today.

Also,  your August workout schedule looks intense! You'll have to keep us all updated as to how it goes. Good luck today and make sure to take care of yourself.

Ahh.. The FIRM!

I've read good things about The FIRM videos, and I see you have several on your rotation for this month.    Is that a resounding endorsement, then??  :-)

(I've been hunting around for a new workout in DVD format.  All of my old ones are on VHS tapes and our VCR doesn't work, anymore!)

the whore's sauce

Indeed.  And yes, it usually has anchovies, but I made extra to bring to work and share with my vegetarian friend, and besides I don't like cooking with them.  I really just like the olives and capers anyway!

I can't imagine what it is like to have your son so far away, but I am glad that you are able to visit each other.  My sisters are both basically cross-country and while we all know that they are happy with their homes and it would be silly to come back to California, it's heartbreaking to see them only once or twice a year for just a day or two.  The first Christmas after my sister moved to DC, she was only able to take 2 days off, so she was literally in California for less than 36 hours.  Taking her to the airport on Christmas Day fell to me because my dad couldn't handle letting her go so soon.  And we're all adults now!  So the point of that is that I'm sending you good thoughts to fill up the space that your dad and son vacated.

Looks like a lot

But actually a lot of it is yoga. The yoga workouts I do are not that intense, especially when done at my level--stiff as a board! Also, some of the longer Cathe workouts will be shortened premixes, and some days the yoga add-ons will be only shortened premixes. I didn't think anyone would be interested in that much detail, so didn't bother to post it.
