woo hoo!
Still weighing in the 133 range this morning--133.4. That's five days in a row now. Looks like those two pounds may be staying off.
Glad I ditched the butter! Why didn't I do it sooner?! I bought hazelnut butter, cashew butter and almond butter, and we've been having those on our toast with low sugar strawberry jam or organic honey for breakfast. It's the only change I've made to my daily routine. No wait, I've also decided to stop having coffee every morning. Instead of coffee, we've switched to Whole Earth No Caf on weekday mornings and real coffee as weekend breakfast treat. I wonder if the decrease in caffeine has helped? Who knows!

No Caf Q's
I'm intrigued by the "Whole Earth No Caf" thing. How does it taste? What advantages does it have over your typical decaffeinated coffee? Why do they state that it's vegetarian/vegan friendly on the website? (I feel like an idiot for asking this one, 'cause I'm probably missing something rediculously obvious, but...) Isn't that redundant?
Anyway, who knows specifically where the success is coming from. Could be a combo platter of your healthy lifestyle adjustments. Whatever it is, enjoy!

other butter
so, are other spreads out completely? There's one I like that's made with olive oil and soy. I know it has to be hydrogenated to become a spread. Marion Nestle says that since you have to hydrogenate vegetable oils to make them into spreads, she would just as soon eat real butter every now and then. But since you're not eating butter on principle, what's wrong with a veg oil spread? But, hey, nut butters rock. I've been on a macadamia butter kick lately. It's not very thick and soaks into the bread. Yum.
