WHAT setback!??
So aparently my setback wasnt as big of a setback as i thought!
Even though i havent really been to the gym since early last week (only once) and i felt like i was eating like crap... (pizza and subs...again! and a BBQ with loads of bad stuff) I'm down a half a pound!
Maybe my focusing on portion sizes and really really really trying to eat healthier (yes, besides the pizza and subs) has finally made a difference!
Pretty psyched!
Oh - and i've switched my work hours to work from noon to 8pm, so there's no excuse for me to get to the gym in the mornings :-) (except for yesterday when i had to do laundry. DOH! It's always something, isnt it. hehe)
Keep your spirits up everyone!!!!!!!!

Another set-back
...but i'm not letting it set me back!
I've been a litle "bad" so far this week. Beer, pizza, subs...argh. It's work!
12-14 hour days dont bode well for intense workouts. and i've finally admitted to myself that I am NOT a morning person. I'm not even going to try, becuase i just end up loosing sleep over it.
i'm must more happy about working out - late (though i cant bring my self to go to the gym after 9:00, I mean c'mon!) and taking a sleeping pill.
It's totally cool to be addicted to Unisom, right??? -er, i mean...
So tomorrow is a new day.I'm going to leave work at 3:30 so I can get to the gym by 4:00 to watch oprah.
I've been doing good about my water, and taking my vitamins.
So goals for tomorrow:
GYM!
water!
Eating smart!

Down is down!
So I THINK i lost 2.5 pounds this last week. Could have been water loss or "other" loss. But down is down!
I was fairly good this weekend, only had a little bit of beer yesterday. I didnt do happy hour at all on friday or saturday. A big deal in these parts 'cause happy hour means a LOT of booze and a LOT of food and a lot of $$$. And i coudl do it every day if i wanted. Long story short is I made my goals for friday - and saturday.
Had dance class yesterday - do nerves and adrenalin make you burn more calores? Cause i was nervous as all heck! Didnt get to the gym today, but ate pretty good and am pretty sore from all the exercising. :-)
Tomorrow is another new week!
Goals for Monday:
Work out in the AM
Eat well at work - bring soup and Vitamuffin to work
DONT eat pizza at MNVLT meeting
Drink my water

Drink all my water water water
DONT go out for happy hour tonight!
my biggest goal - working out - already done! :-)

Just another dyaq
Hello there,
Got on the scale this morning. Up one pound from yesterday... thought that was strange. But i think its best that I do it daily. I'll be able to gauge bloat, etc that way.
My new Vitamuffin mix came in the mail yestreday and i was able to come home over lunch and bake some. Surprisingly they're not that bad. they need a little something though, cinnamon I think. the only downfall to these muffins is the fiber loaded regularness that they supposedly cause. I havent experienced that to the fullest extent, but i could do without the gas!
One other tghing i saw today bothered me. Americas Biggest Loser was on today- season premier. One woman lost a lot of weight to end at the same weight i am at today. (one lb lighter actually.) I have to say - and on offence to her- but i was disgusted by how she looked and even more disgusted by the fact that i probably look the same. It was a kick in the ass. I dont know if was big enough though... i'll have to find this poor womans picture and cut her head out, stick mine on it. Then i'll be satisfied.
My goals for tomorrow:
Gym in the AM before work
No cheese
no Pizza at the Youth Council Meeting
*Bring salad to work!
Drink all my water!

Tomorrow's scale day! AND work out in the morning before work day!

Welcome Back!
Hello there!
So, it's been a long lost while. I'm getting back on the wagon. I can't exactly remember what threw me off the wagon the first time... probably the combination of a desk job, happy hour, and a seemingly endless sedintary lifestyle.
A few things have changed. One - my weight. It's up. I'll get on the scale tomorrow Am.
2.) I've signed up to start dance again. I was once upon a time a ballet dancer, experienced my lowest weight (after I grew boobs) and am very excited! 2 saturdays!
3.) I have tentative plans to get on a plane. Planes have never really bothered me, i love to travel and I love going fast - so planes are pretty much awesome. But when last i was on a plane it was the most uncomfortable flight ever. Could these seats be getting smaller?? Of course not, same as my pants are not magically shrinking in the wash.
I'm tentatively going to either London or Costa Rica in a few months with the family I nanny for (kid food is another deadly culprit of the belly). At the rate i'm going now, i'll need 2 seats.
So here i go again. Not a last ditch effort to loose weight, but a first step in a lifetime of good health and happiness.
Good night! see you tomorrow :-)
p.s. does anyone know how the freak you work these blogs to be reader friendly???
Jessie

Other things that feel good
So I haven't lost yet, and I haven't gotten on the scale since I found out my home one was broken. But I worked out in the AM before work for the first time EVER in my life! And it wasn't hard. And it felt good. And I'm going to continue to do it!
Also, I've been eating fairly healthy. My new favorite things is cottage cheese and crackers - all fat free of course, with a little Mrs. Dash. I'm not trying to deny myself of everything. Just smaller portions. I babysat overnight and made pancakes and bacon for the kids for breakfast and PB&J for lunch. What makes me sad is that they always ask how my diet is going. Ugh. How do five year olds know what dieting is?
Another good thing I've done for myself is put nearly all of my tax return towards my last credit card. THAT feels good. It's no 20 lb. loss, but a good one none the less.
This week is going to be a good week. It is now the year of the Pig! THIS is MY year!
Stay Strong everyone!

The woes of traveling on a diet
So it's been definely a few weeks since I last checked in with my little blog and weight loss tracker. And more than a few things have occured since then.
I was in D.C. and Chicago for the last two weeks for training for a new job. Of course they provided every single meal for us. Did I have any self restraint? Of course not. Especially the last week where at the Wyndham hotel at O'hare they fed us buffet style.
Over the weekend my parents were in town and took me and my brother out for some high quality dining - pizza with dad, scallops and prociuito with mom.
I feel like I got most of the "toxins" out on sunday and today I am back to keeping my food diary.
However, (get this) my brother/roomate tells me when i get back from Chicago that my bathroom scale is broken and is consistantly about 10 lbs under actual weight. So I tossed it out and will just use the scale at the gym. The kicker is, though, that with the added 10 lbs to my supposed current weight, I am topping out at over 200. 203 if i have to guestimate. FOR. THE. FIRST. TIME. IN. MY. LIFE.
I've had the weeknd to digest this, felt like crying a bit, and can do nothing but continue to do my best.
My new job starts on tomorrow and I am committed dto working out twice - weights in the Am before work, signing up for PM cardio then - then cardio after work. Super duper excited to see some results from this. i've never attempted the two workouts a day thing, but I've heard its good for you even if you just do 15 minutes of cario two times a day.
We'll see what happens! I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning at the gym before work.
good luck out there!
