My Plan...

I have decided to recommit to myself. It is time that I try to do what is best for me. I have a wonderful family that I am constantly doing things for and looking after. However, the best gift I could give them is to take care of me.

Here are my goals:
1. Journal my food, every bite. I need to be accountable for what I eat.  I know the little nibbles here and there are adding up.

2. Create a blog each day. I know that putting my feelings on "paper" should help me to heal whatever is causing me to overeat.

3. Lose a pound a week. I am trying to look at little goals instead a huge one. I need to lose about 110 pounds and if I think of that only, I feel overwhelmed. Instead, I will aim for 1 pound a week. If I get more, terrific!  I am also going to give myself a treat at the end of each month when I meet my goal.

4. Finally, to eat foods that are good for my body. I was recently diagnosed as prediabetic.  I have been monitoring my blood sugars and can see such a difference when I eat properly.  I am not going to say that I will never eat a cookie again. I know that is unrealistic.  When I do enjoy an occasional cookie, I will do so in moderation and without beating myself up over it.

So there is my plan.  I love myself enough to follow it. Here's to me.

Good Luck!

Those are great tasks you listed. One thing that I have done that I have "borrowed" from a few others is to make a monthly goal plan. For me, I also broke it down into weeks so that I made sure I didn't overwhelm myself trying to meet 2-4 goals all at once. It's been working super well so far! Also you didn't list exercise, I don't know if it just slipped the mind or not but walking is one of the easiest things to start out with so you may want to give that a whirl.

I am also a tad nosey. I grew up in GB, went to GBHS until 92. Super curious if your around my age (32) LOL!

Sounds great.

Especially number 2 and 3. #2 because everyone has to find out what's been bothering them because even if someone loses the weight and they dont address the problem it will more than likely come back on. And #3 because, I just recently did it. If you try to lose too much you constantly stress about what your doing and that just made me want to indulge more in food. I had to remind myself that even if it comes off slowly, it's still coming off. Which means eventually I will be skinny and Healthy. Good luck and take care.

Congratulations!

On your new plan and resolve! You are well on your way. I think we have to get our minds in the right place before we can truly begin the journey to health. A pound a week is a very doable and realistic goal! That is my goal as well. I'm following a low fat eating plan for my health and letting the pounds fall where they may! It doesn't matter if it takes me a year or 2 years or more! The important thing is to do my best every day. As you said, some days there will be treats, but moderation is definitely the key! I know you'll reach your goal......welcome to the "Turtle" club(slow & steady)!!

GBHS

I was class of 93, my name was Angela Kunschman (now Pippinger). I actually had a pretty bad drug problem back then and for my senior year in 93 I went to Catoctin while at a rehab out that way. Once I got out my parents were moving here and I followed. They ended up moving back in 94 but I stayed, I just liked it too much here to leave LOL. I miss some stuff in MD, like steamed crabs.....just can't get them here in the mtns made right! Roxanne sounds familiar, seems like one of my uncles (Craig) might have known her. Just about all of my family went to GBHS.

I Like it!

Sounds good. I like that you have set a low goal for every week. That way you will be pleasantly suprised with a bigger loss. And I KNOW you can do it!
