Before After

Lesson Learned here...

Okay, this is a follow up on the post I added a little earlier.

I spoke of wanting mac and cheese for lunch. Well, my kids love Velveeta shells and cheese, as do I. I know this stuff is bad for you, but I guess I have never really taken the time to figure out how bad.

I had some. I did not check the points before hand. Just figured I would have some and check. I knew it would be up there, but I am getting ready to work out and then go to the gym tonight for my "mommy time". Anyway, just logged my points on line.  Are you ready???????? for the amount I ate, it was a whopping 16.5 points! Let me write it again... 16.5 points. For one stinking bowl of mac and cheese! No wonder I weight over 200 pounds!  Just to give you an idea for those of you not on Weight Watchers, for my weight I am allowed 30 points a day. So gone are over 1/2 of my points on one meal. Looks like I am eating veggies the rest of the day and sweating my rear off at the gym tonight.

I am not going to be serving this to my family any more. I will try to maybe find a lower calorie and fat version of this.

So, with that said, my lesson is learned. No more mac and cheese , even a little is not worth it.

We can post sayings on the WW board, here is mine...

"You are what you eat, and Lord knows, I don't want to be a bag of M and M's any longer!"

So true about you are what you eat huh?

Anyway, talk later ladies.

It's crazy

How those points add up, isn't it?  16.5 - yep, sounds about right.

Have a great afternoon......and you will probably be looking for a couch or chair to take a nap in - I looooooove mac and cheese but it really weighs me down - literally!

Sub for the Velveeta M&C

Don't know if you have ever been to the Hungry Girl website but there are tons of tips and recipes and there is one for Mac and cheese - the sauce involves, ff cream cheese, Laughing cow and some other stuff.  I don't remember exactly but one time I needed some type of cheese sauce and made the recipe for the sauce part and it was good.  Now I won't say it tasted just like the full fat velveeta but it had waaaay less calories.  I don't know about points stuff I do the Jenny Craig.  You also can get the frozen Lean Cuisine and other brands of Mac and Cheese - forces portion control on you.  Speaking of M & M's I used to use the 1 pound bag as a 1 serving bag.  I used to wonder how I gained so much weight too.  Good Luck

Oh well, sh!t happens!! LOL

Don't beat yourself up too much.  I mean, consider it a lesson learned.  I LOOOOVE mac & cheese myself and that is going to be something hard for me to resist.  You just have find other alternatives that will maybe satisfy that craving without being so high in points.  Like someone said, the frozen sides of mac & cheese force portion control and aren't too bad in points.  They aren't Velveeta but I have had them before just to give myself a little bit of that "fix".  Hope you find a good mac & cheese substitue that you enjoy.  If you do, be sure and let me know!

Mac and Cheese

When I notice things are that bad for me, it sometimes cuts the cravings for it.   I hope the same happens for you!  Keep up the good work!
