Feel like giving up
I need some words of encouragement. I feel like giving up. I did really well for about 3 weeks. OF course, I was taking phentermine during that time. After a lot of thought though, I decided to not take it. I would rather break my old habits and lose weight the right way.
HOwever, I have probably gained 2 pounds. I know I need to lose weight but I still keep falling into my old habits. Does this ever get "easy"? I realized that even if I lose weight, this will be an issue I deal with for the rest of my life. I am not the type of person who can eat what I want and relax about my weight. It will be a struggle or concern for the rest of my life.
I am not sure how to get over this feeling of wanting to give up. I know I can't. My health depends on me making changes.
Thanks for letting me vent ladies!!!

Hang in there!!
I know it's not easy. I don't think anybody would say that it is. It's a complete mental and physical process that you have to go through, and no, unfortunately, it's something that doesn't go away. I have been battling this for about 10 years and I am at an all-time high now. I have lost *some* weight in the past but never stuck with it for the long haul. It's really about changing your life, not just being on a "diet". I think that overcoming the mental obstacles really is the hardest part. I joined Weight Watchers (AGAIN!!) last night and I was actually depressed all day yesterday. I knew the battle was coming. It is definitely a fight. There will be good days and bad days but the important thing is to keep going. If you fall off the horse, get right back on! And just remember that there are so many people here to support you. I used to use this site a long time ago and it really did help me tremendously. That's why I'm back her now for my fresh start! I wish you the best of luck and feel free to vent away!! That's what we're all here for...

Dont give up!
THICKNESS is right...it is a change of lifestyle. And I know it is hard at first but I believe it gets easier.
As you know, I take phen but I also count my calories everyday, go to the gym 4-5 days a week and go roller skating once a week with my girls. I dont drink soda and I dont eat french fries, chips, ice cream, fast food or anything that does not have nuitricional value. I have been doing this for almost four months. It has become habit now. If you do something long enough eventually it becomes habit. Its just a matter of getting started. Once you get started and stick with it for a month or two...then it WILL get easier.
And two pounds is not bad. I know we are never happy with a gain but 2 pounds is not that bad.
Hang in there. We all make our own choices of how we will loss the weight and our bodies are all different and everyone has thier own struggle...but the rest of us are here for you. If its a South Beach dieter or a Weight Watcher dieter or a phen user or a Jenny Craig dieter...we all know how tough this is. We are ALL here to help.
Stay strong!

We all feel that way sometimes
The task ahead of us - losing all the weight - just seems so daunting. But you know, you CAN do it. I don't know if it ever really gets easier though. Some days...even weeks, I breeze through life making all of the right choices and it feels TERRIFIC! But there are still days when I'd rather bury myself in a bag of potato chips, no doubt! The wonderful thing about EP is that we can all relate and we're here to cheer you on when you feel like you're feeling. Do what you can, a little at a time if need be, you don't have to change everything overnight. Don't give up on yourself. We won't let you!
