What can I say I kind of fell off the wagon but it was more like the wagon was moving and dragging me behind it!
Today was my first workout since Sep. 20th. I can't believe I haven't been going but maybe it has allowed my right foot to heal a bit as it's not killing me today after the workout.
I had a birthday and did splurge a little around that time with a few different "birthday" meals. I expected the scales to have ticked back upwards today when I went to Curves but I'm down another two pounds. Hallelujah!!!
I'm using the plain yogurt with dried ranch dressing mix in it quite a bit these days. Works on baked potatoes, tacos, and even grilled chicken salad. Last night I really wanted some carmel to dip my apples in and so I did a little vanilla yogurt with a teaspoon of sugar free carmel ice cream topping in it. Oh my gosh!! It was great on the apple and had to be better than dunking it in the marzetti's carmel coating and my step dad ate what was left right out of the bowl. So I highly recommend that to anyone else who is craving carmel apples since the fall season has arrived.
Went to Curves for the 3rd day in a row with my cousin. Having someone to go with sure does help!
Anyway, today was measurement day and I'm 11 pounds down, plus 2 inches from my waist, 1.5 inches from my big ol belly, 1 inch from my thighs, half an inch from my upper arms and .90 of a percent off my body fat which dropped by BMI by 3.30 points!
Hallelujah! I'm so glad that something is finally working for me. It's been a while since I dieted but in the past no matter what I tried, weight watchers for example, I did everything I was supposed to and nothing would come off! So between the cambridge shakes for breakfast and lunch or the three times a week workouts the weight is getting the boot.
Hope everyone else is having a great week and lots of pounds gone too!
I went to curves yesterday and did a quick weigh and yippee!!!! I'm finally at the 10 pounds lost mark. The diet is still going ok--yesterday was tough as I walked out of the house without the container of shake mix I packed. So I had some laughing cow lite swiss cheese and crackers after my workout and some microwave popcorn for an afternoon snack.
I've posted the horrible picture I mentioned in my first blog entry. Believe me this one is the better of the two! The other one is up close with all my fat rolls showing and you can't see my beautiful horse. At least in this one she may distract folks from seeing me.
I really appreciate knowing that you guys out there and going through some of the same struggles. It's nice to be there for one another.
Well made it through another week. Had a few bobbles this week--like going out to lunch with friends from work on Wednesday and having Mexican food but overall still a loss and if I can be good over the weekend maybe more.
I need to work on portion control too. I was very good last week but twice this week I've slid back into my old habit of eating eating eating at dinner. I'm not hungry per se but I eat it. I think it's an emotional thing and I know it doesn't help that we usually eat in front of the television which means you can mindlessly sit there and shovel it in. Anyone else have these issues? I mean Wednesday night wasn't too bad as it was a garden omelet with lots of veggies but last night was pasta salad and a small grilled pork chop and I know I had way to much pasta salad as I was miserable afterward.
I also need to find something I can have as a snack in the morning before lunch. Maybe some celery with cream cheese or something. Anyway, trying to make the working out and eating my shakes and watching what I eat a habit. The shakes are pretty tasty and I don't mind having the same thing every day. May have to do this for life though!
Wish it wasn't so hot here in Texas so we could do something fun this weekend....oh well guess we'll find something to do to avoid the 104 degree heat. Hope everyone has a safe and satisfying weekend!
Well it's been one week since I made up my mind to lose the weight. One week of three shakes a day, working out and eating less and better.
I've lost 7 pounds. I have to say I was really hoping that scale was going to say 10 pounds less today! But I guess if I can continue to lose that much a week--I'll be pretty happy.
I thought the weekend might be tough but it wasn't too bad. We went to a friend's house on Saturday and I took my mixer stick and powder with me. Had my pre-dinner shake at her house and then ate less for dinner. We went to one of my favorite baja mexican places and I did eat some chips and queso but tried not to pig out. I had a salad with shredded chicken and only ate about half of that so I think I did pretty good. Later when the boyfriend stopped for a newspaper he asked if I wanted my normal--sweet tarts but I declined.
Yesterday I did get very hungry before I got home and I managed not to stop for fast food. But I had a grilled cheese with fresh tomato on 12 grain bread when I got home. It was sooo good. I thought I would have missed bread more this week but I didn't start a binge after lunch and eat three or four pieces or anything crazy. Had a shake before dinner just like normal and voila I lost a little more over the weekend.
Overall pretty happy with the plan and feeling better without all the sugars I was putting in my body. Worked out with my cousin today and she joined Curves as well so now I have a buddy to work out with!!! I'm very excited about that.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week with few cravings and lots of success!
Well I went to dinner with my friend for her birthday last night. Did pretty well. Ate all fresh veggies off the salad bar at Jason's Deli and no pasta salads or anything like that. Just veggies, two boiled eggs a few flakes of grated cheddar and a tiny sprinkling of fresh bacon bits and some low fat honey mustard. I wasn't quite full so I did have a little bit of their fat free soft serve ice cream and a little cone--it was a great treat that I really appreciated since I haven't had any breads or sugary stuff this week.
Today I did go and work out at Curves even though I'm tired and my knees hurt. I thought about being a wuss and only doing one circuit but I didn't. Couldn't resist checking the scale again and it was down more! Seeing the numbers going down is certainly keeping me motivated.
This weekend will be tough. I see my love tomorrow and we always go out to eat dinner and breakfast on Sunday...guess I'll have to be good.
Another day on the journey! Went to bed early last night and slept in a little this morning. I guess I was really tired! Yesterday I had my three shakes and a workout so I put a little cheddar cheese on my grilled chicken breast and green salad last night. It made me very happy. Think the lesson that I may be learning here is that it doesn't matter how much of something you get to have. It's enjoying what you get and appreciating it.
Have had some hunger pangs today but managed to hold them off without dipping into anything (namely the m&m's on my bosses desk). Going to dinner with a friend for her birthday tonight. She picked Jason's deli which should be ok. I'm going to do the salad bar and stay away from the pasta salad, chicken salad, etc. Shouldn't be too much different than the meals I'm having at home which always include a green salad and a small piece of meat of some type.
Well I went to Curves to workout at lunch and couldn't resist using the scale--5 pounds gone! Now that I know it's working; I plan on not weighing more often than once a week but I just had to know today.
So far the plan is going ok. Need to figure out if i can eat some raw vegetables or something during the day along with the shakes. Today I had two shakes and a workout that is supposed to burn around 450 calories--except I had only eaten 150 calories and the shakes only total 450 and then I add an evening meal.
So, plan on eating a nice grilled chicken salad for dinner and I might even enjoy a little shredded cheese in it.
Hope everyone else is doing well and losing what they want. Hope I can be positive about this a few weeks in.
So it's upper 90's outside and my office is usually too warm for my comfort (even if the rest of our building is comfortable). Today however I'm chilly and added a sweater. Just wondering if the lack of my normal sugar intake is making me cooler. Anyone have an opinion or had a similar experience? I know after people lose some serious pounds they have this happen but this is day two for me --which is why I'm wondering about it.
Mmmmmm having my afternoon snack/pre-dinner shake. Cambridge Strawberry shake is pretty tasty.
Well I made it through day one without cheating! Did my three shakes and had a salad and small dinner last night. Got weighed yesterday at Curves on the big doctor type scale which I'm sure is accurate. This morning I checked at home and it was 4 pounds less. I'd love to get excited and think maybe I really did lose that much in my first day--but I think I'll wait and see what the big scale says.
Felt pretty good yesterday. I find that I get the urge to snack because I always snacked at my desk a couple of times during the day--whether I was hungry or not (which is obviously part of the problem). So I've stocked up on sugar free gum and when I get the urge to eat in between meals I'm chewing gum.
My knees and ankles really hurt today from working out--hope they feel better in time to go tomorrow. Of course, I'm going anyway but it would be nice if they'd settle down before then. Can't wait to get healthier--pretty sure my heart is already appreciating the effort.
