Down Time

Hello ladies!! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. And hope those that have off have a great day off tomorrow. I sure will, just maxin and relaxin. Oh yea and a little work out too :P

So my weekend was nice. Saturday I went shopping to a new mall out of town with a friend. It was a nice change of pace. I started trying on clothes and got kind of discouraged when I was still a size 14, but then I realized I've only been doing this "new lifestyle" for a week and a half. I have to give it time! I'm so impatient, it's pitiful. So I snapped out of it and enjoyed my day at the mall. This time I didn't fall victim to any greesy fattening pretzel bites or sweets. I made sure to bring my emergency snacks. So I'm proud of that.  I know I said I wouldn't shop til I got to my 10% goal BUT I had to get out of the house, it drives me nuts to sit in the house on a nice day. But I'm not doing anymore shopping until I am in a smaller pant size. I'm not buying anymore size 14 or XL clothes, ***That's a new goal***

After we got back from the mall, my bf came! I was really happy to see him. 3 weeks was a very long time! We just hung out, watched movies(I Am Legend & The Great Debaters) and stuff. He got here after work last night and was starving. It was 10:30pm and I was NOT cooking! So I gave in and ordered pizza. I got Domino's because their pizza slices are 2 points less than Papa Johns. I didn't eat breakfast so I had some extra points. I had 2 pieces of pizza and 3 buffalo wings. I don't think that's bad at all! He just left about an hour ago but good thing is he may be back Friday!

Tonight for dinner I cooked Gwynn's Cheesy Casserole. I followed it to the tee, except I didn't put in the cottage cheese(I'm not a fan) and I added ground turkey for protein. So instead of it being 6 points, it was 9. But that's not bad for dinner. I still have quite a few points left. The casserole was DEELISH! I will definately cook it again and recommend it to those that like cheesy mexican food. At only 299 calories a serving, you can't beat it. BF even liked it and he isn't to keen on low fat foods..he's slowly making his way over to the "healthy side" though..I already got him hooked on Crystal Light.

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday because I was at the mall all day, then bf came, so I missed the gym. I walked the mall for atleast 4 hours, so that counts! Friday I did 15 minutes on the elliptical at the gym, then found out they closed at 10 instead of 12, so I had to leave. Since I already had on my workout clothes, I put in my WATP dv and did 30 minutes of it, so I got my full 45 minutes of cardio in! I'm proud to say I wore shoes this time, lol.Since the gym is closed tonight I will do my cardio tape tonight and get my 45 minutes of cardio in that way. So I've had 7 opportunites to work out the past week and I have worked out 5 of those 7, not to bad! My victory calendar (yes I still keep up with it) is lookin good!

For some reason I don't feel like I've lost any weight this week. I'm nervous for Tuesday's WI! I know I've paid my bills, even came in under a day this week. I've been going regularly, so I don't know why I feel this way. Maybe is pyschological because of when I was trying on clothes at the mall yesterday. Ugh, I hope I'm wrong and I have lost atleast 3lbs this week. I guess we'll see Tuesday.

***EDIT***
I DID get my workout in tonight! I was sitting on my couch debating whether or not I felt like it..Then I remembered I didn't feel like being fat anymore so I better feel like working out. I did my kickboxing body sculpt dvd for 50 minutes. I was sweating like crazy (it's cold out so the heat is on, forgot to turn it down for my workout) which helped anyway :P So I feel good!!  One more workout til WI, I gotta make it count.

I'm nervous too!

I've had such a great week I exercised got in all my water I done everything right but yet I feel so heavy right now! I know we shouldn't focus on the numbers but it is so hard not too.My weigh in is tomorrow,  wish me luck. Ok enough about me,

I'm glad you and your BF finally got a chance to spend some time together! I'm sure you enjoyed it. From what is seems, you have had a terrific week so you shouldn't have nothing to worry about. Oh yeah from a recent post on Endurer's Blog Shopping counts as exercise so don't forget to count those calories!  lol    Have a good one.

Yay For Good Choices !

Congrats on not falling off when your BF was there. When I was in school that weekend quality time with my boo always ended up turning into junk and fast food time. Now he's my husband and we're trying to work it off together, LOL ! Girl, Crystal Light is our best friend ! We have 4 or 5 boxes of those On The Go packets in our cabinet right now. I still limit myself to one at dinner, but my hubby is a total juiceaholic and has more. I'm working on him, though. You gotta ease them in sloooooowly

Workout!

Way to go on getting that workout in!  All of them!  You're doing amazing.  As for feeling like you didn't lose this week, you probably did.  I've felt that way several times and usually have bigger losses those weeks.  However, if you didn't lose, don't let it get ya down.  I mean, there are other ways to measure your success than just the scale.  Measurements, clothes, HEALTH!  Keep up the great work and I'm glad you got to see your BF!

:-)

I'm so glad you liked the casserole!!! I am also not a fan of cottage cheese but it melts nicely in the casserole and blends well with the other cheese!

Good thought

"I don't feel like being fat so I better feel like working out"--I love that!

I'm so glad your bf visited this weekend!  Did you like "The Great Debaters"?  I heard it was really good.

Non-weight goals

I love your new goals!  Fitting into a smaller size and getting out of the XL are MUCH better goals than losing x number of lbs.

Way to go on the workouts!  Even if you don't fee like it, it's so important to JUST DO IT.  Love your "last chance workout" before tomorrow's WI - reminds me of The Biggest Loser.

Have a great day - good luck tomorrow!

Hi

I LOVE the quote.  LOVE IT!!  That one is also going in my notebook too.  Thanks.

So happy you are still keeping your VICTORY calendar.

You going to the gym when you really didn't want too is AWESOME!!!  THAT's what it's all about.  In my BFL success journal, the lesson-for-life on day 10 says...

"The most important person to stand up to is yourself"

"Sometimes you may feel as if you're having a tug of war between your old self and your new self.  It's not easy to make the type of changes in your life that you've decided to make.  In your moments of decision, when you feel like eating ice cream at night or lying in bed in the morning instead of getting up to work out, ask youself, "who do I want to be today:  the old me or the new me."  Your body and life are being shaped by these moment-to-moment decisions.  It's those decisions that brought you to where you were at the beginning of your program.  (me BFL, you WW)  And if you continue to make decisions the old way, you're going to continue to produce the same results, you have to take a different approach.  It's not easy to stand up to yourself, but you can do it!!!"

That is exactly what you did....stood up to yourself and did it.  GREAT JOB!!!

Keep that up, and that shopping trip will be here before you know it!

Some other stuff

Because the first comment just wasn't long enough.  *sheesh*

Thanks for not thinking I was dorky taking pictures of my food.  It was where I was at that made me feel a little embarrassed. I normally wouldn't think anything of it.

About the weight training and cardio.  I can't take credit for my plan.  That is the set-up of BFL.  (click here if you want to see)  You are right, doing weights after cardio is very difficult.  That's IF, of course, you've done a "kick your tail workout."  (which I'm sure you do)  I tried to do abs AFTER X-bike the other day, and I couldn't do it.  (well I could, but there is a differenc in an effective workout, and just giving myself a check mark)  I couldn't imagine having to do a whole upper or lower body workout after cardio.  (or before for that matter.  My cardio would then be off.  I've tried. It doesn't work the same) The exercise plan of BFL is "quality over quanity"  When you do upper-body, you focus on upper-body.  When you do lower-body, you focus on lower-body.  When you do cardio, you do cardio.  (and kick hiney...HARD)    Each day is planned, and the goal is to push yourself to the max on each.  If done right, you NEED those days of rest inbetween.  (OUCH!)  Does that make sense???  Hope it helps.

You are doing great!  I'm excited to hear how your WI goes this week.  Have you made a friend at the meeting yet?  (well, not a friend, that takes time.)  Have you met anyone that could be a friend?

Take care!

Hello there

You've been busy! I'll have to look into Gwynn's recipe. I'm not a fan of cottage cheese except by itself, so I'd substitute it, too. What did you use? Or did you just omit it? Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet Cookbook has a lot of recipes that call for cottage cheese, too. It is high in calcium and low in cals, so its probably a good idea. I'd rather use low fat ricotta, now that I think of it.

Anyway, I love what you said about not feeling like being fat so you better feel like working out!!! Love that!!

Good Job...

on getting your workout in!  Good luck with Tuesday's WI!  Fingers are crossed!
