Hello ladies! Happy new year! Hope this new year brings new beginnings and new triumphs and greater joy! I sure am praying that it's the case for me.

My new years eve was spent at church. It was just a praise and worship service, so it was nice. My co-worker came and I could tell she really enjoyed it so I'm glad. Although  I know going to church was the "right" place to be I couldn't help but beat myself up that I had no friends to call and "go out" with. I only went to church as a last resort, sad I know. Everyone always tells me how 'responsible and mature I am' but for one time in my life I want to feel like a normal 20 year old...Partying and just having a grand ol time and just living it up. I have the rest of my life to be old and mature...*sigh* That's my biggest downer right now but I can't get into it. I'm dealing with it on my own, so there I'll keep it.

Moving on...

Today marks a new year and just when I was thinking about the turn of this new leaf I saw the Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie B. and what she said touched me and that has been one of my goals for 2008. She said, "I am happy that this is the first year I don't have to wake up and worry about my weight...This can be you next year." Even though I'm not going to do Jenny, that will be me! January 1st 2009 I do not want to have to make ANY goals about losing weight, only to maintain the current. I do not want to have to set exercising goals, I want it to be a routine by then. In 2009 I just want to maintain. With everything in me, it will be done! Or I will try like hell to make it.

For this to happen I will have to set mini goals and make sure I'm doing something every day to ensure that this happens!

Such as:
Start and stick to WW
Make encouragement cards to curb cravings
Go to the doctor to ensure there are no health issues heading my weight loss process
Stay true to myself and watch for triggers that will tempt me to emotionally eat
Make and keep myself accountable for exercising
Keep up with victory calendar AND make sure 90% of each month included exercise.
PLAN,PLAN & PLAN!

I do not want this to be a chore. I want it to be something I want to do. I know I want to lose weight but what it takes to get there can be a chore. So I want to find alternative exercises that are fun..I.E-Roller blading, intramural volleyball, spinning class(just waiting for my gym to get it), and swimming (although this will only be when it's time to wash my hair cause chlorine relaxed hair=no bueno!)

Eating is by far my most tallest hurdle. I am dealing with a lot right now emotionally so it is definately responsible for my emotional eating. I have had Jack and the Box 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I haven't had that in MONTHS! WTF is wrong me? Never mind all the Christmas candies, snacks,etc.. at work. My plan for work to be a good thing for me backfired...So now being AWAY from work will be better for me because I know at my house there are no unhealthy, sugary sweets to give into and I choose what I put into my mouth not what others are eating to "fit in." I have the rest of the week plus next to work then I am back to full time college student and part time worker, yeeeeeeees! Although the checks are nice, I'm over the commute, gas prices and lack of life.

My best friend and bf are coming into town this weekend, so I know I will not be exercising. So my eating will have to be extra healthy and then the following week I will be able to do my work out tapes at home, ONLY 5 more days then I can go back to the gym, I've never been so happy to go to the gym, lol.

P.S- I didn't really go to Georgia, I just put that song as my title cause I was going out of town, lol. You guys crack me up.

I saw that commerical too!

And it resonated with me also.  I hope that's BOTH of us next year.  But I really feel ready to recomitt, and it soundls like you're still going strong.  Keep it up.  You're amazing, and you CAN do it!  Let's make 2008 THE YEAR FOR CHANGE!

Hey!

I saw the Valerie commercial too and saw her on Extra ( i think)  it hit home.  I wish I could afford the food on Jenny but I can't.  I have to compromise!  You're doing great girl!  Keep it up!9i402

Young lady....

At 20 years old, you are not old enough to drink.  So I don't want to hear that again!  Just kidding.....

The JC commercial got me too.  Especially when she had to wave the tears off her eyes.  Weight loss is an emotional thing.

We all have our goals for 2008.  Now we just have to make them happen!  Here we go!  Let's not dwell on the past.  Let's live in the present and do what we can do RIGHT NOW!

Well...

drinking and partying arent all they seems to be. I myself am 32 years old and have never drank or partied (or did ANY drug for that matter). It just didnt make sense to me. Why would you do that to yourself?..I thought. I hate to vomitt..I try my hardest not to waste money...and I dont want to look like an even bigger idiot than I already am :) So, just remember that somethings may seem great when you are young but as you get older you realize they are not. I think its great you spent the evening at church. I stayed home with my DH and my DDs and we had a wonderful time.

I too saw the commercial. I want to do that too...wake up and not think to myself "Go get on the scale and hope its good."

You asked me what changes I have made...well I go to the gym 4 days a week and I go roller skating with my DDs once (sometimes twice) a week, I do not eat after 6PM (which is diner time), I drink at least 64oz of water a day, I limit my calories, fat, carbs and sodium everyday, I no longer eat things that basically have no nutritional value (fries, ice cream, soda, chips, candy), and I am also taking a diet pill prescribed by my doctor (adipex)...and I pray.  I am sure that He has more important things to deal with but I do it anyway.

Good luck...I wish you the best of health!

OMG!

I just read your comment on my blog about road rage.  Let me tell you what happened last week.  I was on the interstate in the fast lane going about 80.  The speed limit is 55.  This guy decided to get in front of me.  Not QUITE a cut off, but damn, he was going slow.  Why the FRICK did he have to get in front of me.  So I had to hit my brakes pretty hard.  Do you know this SOB brake checked me?  Huh?  You cut me off MFer!  I flashed some brights at him, as it was early in the morning.  So when I got the opportunity to get over one lane, I did.  He saw me doing it and got over too.  Oh, it's on now!  I got over one more lane to the right.  As I was passing him he did some hand gesture and I'm like, OH YEAH, BRING IT!  I got over in front of him, very abruptly.  I slammed on my brakes.  OMG!  I could have had a serious wreck.  That's scary!  Anyway, he backed off.  Just like I knew he would.  But I've gotten in chases with people.  It's awful.  And then, of course, I feel so stupid.  But it's like something comes over me and I can't control it.  Adrenaline rush, to say the least.

THANKS!

For your comments and reminding me I said I'd blog everyday..lol!

I've seen her commercial too.  All Jenny is though is being aware of your portions and calore counting.  You can definately do it on your own.  I feel you though, I don't want this to be a chore for me either, I want it to be a way of life!.. WE CAN DO IT!

**Chandra

Hi

Thanks for stopping by.  Yes...I need to relax.  It's coming soon.  Have a few days off next week, then the following week dh and I are going to sunny San Diego.    Have never been to CA.  CAN'T WAIT!

I did not see the commercial, but now I want to.

You've re-decorated!  I like it.

Your plans are wonderful, and I'm inspired by your commitment. Did you have the victory calendar for the month of Dec. or did you start at the beginning of the year?  I'm excited to be starting with my one for the whole year.

Have you ever heard of Body-for-Life?  With the way you like to train and plan, I think you would like it.

Like your quote for the day.  How true.

oh-yea...one more thing...  Wanna know a way to get great chicken at a discount?  Go to the deli at the end of the day, after it's closed, and see if they have any rotisseri chickens left.  We have been getting ours for the last 3-weeks at the end of the day for 1/2 price!!!!  Just make sure you DON'T eat the skin.  (fat, fat, and more fat)

Hope you have a great night!

Whats Good?

That comercial touched me as well. I know for sure I will be saying that same thing next year but hopefully sooner!  YOur goals sound achievable so I know you will accomplish them. As far as WW when do you plan on starting?  I'm starting once I finish this detox hopefully on the 14th. I think finding alternative exercises is a great idea that way you won't get bored with doing something that you actaulyl like. If I could go roller skating everyweek. I would but I don't like to put my kids of on people especially when it really isn't necessary.  This year is going to be different, I can feel it. We have got to make this happen once and for all.  Have a good one

Miss V

Emotional eating...

I'm with you.  I do it too.

Haven't seen the commercial.  Sounds just about right though.  I need some mojo.  I can do this!

Awesome!!!!

It WILL be so fantastic not to have to make weight loss related resolutions or 2009. I've seen that commercial and I got all teary. I'm an emotional wreck lately, must be PMS. LOL

How wonderful

...would it be to wake up and not have to worry about losing weight anymore!  What a huge weight (literally) that would be off my shoulders.

This is our year!  Let's do it!
