I did a good job yesterday sticking to my eating plan, and I lost 1.5 lbs. Yippee! I'm back on track.
I had a hard time staying on the diet this weekend, and it didn't go too well.
It all started Friday night. The problem was, we didn't have any food at home, so we ordered out and of course instead of ordering a salad, I got a roasted chicken sandwich with a side of potato crisps. The carbs were so filling though, I only ended up eating half of it. After dinner we headed to a holiday party, where I had a few glasses of sugary wine.
Saturday morning I wasn't feeling too great, just realy tired and run down, but I got up for yoga anyway, but once I got there, class was canceled. Bummer. Since I wasn't feeling so great, I went home instead of sticking around for another class. I spent most of the afternoon just lying around. For lunch I had some chicken soup, which isn't too bad. But Saturday night, we headed out to the 'burbs for my father-in-law's b-day. He wanted to go out for italian of course, so I had pasta, soup, and bread for dinner. Not good. We had dessert at home, but luckily I had brought a low carb lemon olive oil cake, so I did okay there.
After a while, I felt horrible; shaky in a way. I wanted to just go home, but since we were hit with a huge snow storm, we couldn't make it back in to the city and had to stay overnight there. I wasn't happy.
So, I didn't get much sleep that night, which meant Sunday was a total waste. I pretty much lounged around again all day. I was just too tired to do anything. We did end up going to the grocery store, but that was it.
I'm hoping today is the start of a good week. I do have a lot of baking to do each night, and a party to go to both Thurs. and Fri., but I should hopefully be able to get enough rest and start feeling better.
Sorry for the long post, but I just felt like getting it all out.
I've been stuck all week, no weight loss.
I have to admit, I was cheating a little. But, I picked up my exercise to work it off. So, at least I didn't gain any weight.
The next couple of days are going to be hard. I have two christmas parties to go to tonight and a birthday party to go to tomorrow. Hopefully, there will be a healthy option or two for me to choose from.
I had a bit of a challenge over the weekend, and ended up having to eat some carbs. Friday night, the in-laws canceled for dinner, but my husband and I didn't have any food at home, so we still needed to go out to eat. We couldn't go where we were originally headed because it was too expensive, so we just ran over to Houlihan's. I ended up getting a burger, but it was on a whole wheat bun, and I got a side of broccoli instead of fries. So, I didn't do too bad.
Saturday night, I attended a madrigal dinner to attend at my nephews high school. Obivously, I don't have a choice of what to eat, and of course dinner was chicken kiev. Oh well. I decided to enjoy myself and I ate it all up. It was very good. But, I did avoid the cheescake for dessert.
After a very scary drive home thanks to an ice storm. I got back on track on Sunday, and have since lost an additional pound.
Things are looking good. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
Another 1.5 lbs down!! Woohoo!!!!
The first phase of south beach has been going well. My first challenge is going to be tonight though. My husband and I are going out to dinner with the in-laws. Unfortunately they like their bread basket, so I can't ask the server to not bring it. The good news is the restaurant we are going to does have a lot of healthy options, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll just have to ask for veggies in place of the potatoes. I'll let you know how it goes.
Going out to dinner means I'll have to miss my workout though. Maybe we will get home early enough that I can at least hit the treadmill for a little while. I've been bad and haven't worked out since last Saturday. So, not good. I'll have to try and be better next week.
I have another challenge tomorrow too, but I'll tell you about it then.
I wasn't going to weigh in again for a couple of days, but I happened to look in the mirror this morning and though to myself "I look skinnier." So, I couldn't help but weigh in a few days early, where I discovered that I had already lost two pounds. Yeah! Hopefully, this will keep up.
My first day on the south beach diet went pretty well, until about 8pm. I was hungry, and at class. So during our break I headed to the vending machine and got a bag of potato chips. I know I shouldn't have, but they were out of cashews & peanuts. I just couldn't help myself.
Today, I'm not going to worry about it though. I'm just going to start fresh and pretend it never happened. Today will be better though.
My husband did say I looked skinnier this morning. I told him he was nuts. You don't lose weight after being on a diet for a day. I'll check in a couple of days to see how I'm doing.
Well, I gained a pound over the weekend, but it doesn't matter to me. I'm not going to worry about it because today I started phase 1 of the south beach diet. It worked well for me in the past, so I might as well try it again. I can't wait to let you know about my success. It's going to be good.
I'm still stuck in my rut of not losing any weight. I'm not sure what else I can do. I eat pretty well, and work out at least four times a week, both cardio and strength training.
I wonder if I should go back to the south beach plan. I did it about two years ago and lost 9lbs the first two weeks. That's half of my goal. The first phase of the plan is just hard for me to do, not because of what you eat, but because of the time it takes to get everything together.
I don't have a lot of time in the morning to make an omelet or scrambled eggs, etc. Plus, three nights a week, I go straight from work to school. On those nights, it's tough to grab something that isn't on a piece of bread. There is a Whole Foods nearby, but I don't always have the time to run there and grab a salad or something.
I'll have to think this through some more, before I head to the grocery store tomorrow to buy food for the week.
Wow! It has been a long time since I posted. I started a new job back on the 13th, the same time the new quarter for school started, so I just haven't had any time. The new job is going well, I really like it. The bad news is I ate out for lunch there every day that first week and gained 2.5 lbs. Oh well.
This past week I was good though and ended up losing a pound. Thanksgiving wasn't a problem either. I did the cooking, so I was sure to use the lower calorie and fat version of things whenever I could, like whole wheat bread for my stuffing.
I haven't worked out all week though. I've just had no time. Tomorrow though, I'm going to at least two classes, maybe a third. Next week, I'll definitely be back on track.
