Thursday - Not feeling well http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/healthyisin/comments/288408/thursday-not-feeling-well <p>I'm not feeling all that great today.&nbsp; Shortly after eating breakfast my stomach started bothering me.&nbsp; I made it to work anyway, but I think I may head out of here early.</p> <p>Things are going well on the job hunt though.&nbsp; I have two phone interviews today, and I meeting with a recruiter tomorrow.&nbsp; Hopefully, I won't be out of a job for too long once I am done with my temp job.</p> <p>Here is what I ate yesterday:</p> <p>Breakfast: Yogurt &amp; blueberries, with a flaxseed muffin</p> <p>Lunch: Slice of pepperoni pizza from Sbarro (Ick)</p> <p>Snack: Bag of Frito's (I know, bad)</p> <p>Dinner: Chili grilled chicken with a side salad. (Kind of bland, but not horrible)</p> <p>Workout: 35 mins on the stationary bike</p> <p>I didn't make it to my gym class last night.&nbsp; I ended up working late and wasn't able to make it their in time.&nbsp; Here is what I ate:</p> <p>Breakfast: Egg sandwich on whole wheat english muffin with arugula and tomato.</p> <p>Lunch: Ceasar Salad</p> <p>Dinner: Ground Sirloin Naked Burrito Bowl from Qdoba (Ouch)</p> <p>I didn't work out yesterday because I decided to stay home and get my resume together and start applying for jobs.&nbsp; My temp job will be ending in a few weeks so I need to start looking now.</p> <p>I've already signed up for my class this evening...Video Vixen, a dance class.&nbsp; So much fun.</p> <p>I'm also trying a new recipe for dinner tonight.&nbsp; I followed my eating plan exactly, and then we decided to go out to celebrate the last class of the quarter where I ended up having one drink and a whole lot of spinach artichoke dip.&nbsp; But that's okay, I will get back on track today.&nbsp;</p> <p>I don't have class again until the 27th.&nbsp; I'm so excited to have a week with no distractions so that I can work out as planned and eat well.&nbsp; Yeah!&nbsp; This quarter should be a lot better as well when it comes to my workload.</p> <p>I want to share some of my goals with you.&nbsp; I need to get ready for the alumni dinner theatre at my high school.&nbsp; It's on March 15th.&nbsp; I'm hoping to lose at least 5lbs by then.&nbsp; And my 30th b-day party is on the 29th, so I'm hoping to hit at least 8lbs lost for that.&nbsp; And then, I'll be going on vacation in April somewhere warm (We haven't figured the details yet), so i'm hoping to get lose 10-12 lbs for that.&nbsp; I obviously have to stick to my eating plan and my workout goals in order to do this, and I need to be on here everyday (or almost everyday) telling you how I am doing.&nbsp; I ate well and exercised as planned which has been hard for me to do the last few weeks.&nbsp; This quarter for school was just so hard.&nbsp; Luckily my last final is tomorrow night, and then I can hopefully get back into my routine.</p> <p>I was finally able to head to my usual yoga class on Saturday morning.&nbsp; I've been having a hard time sticking to my diet and exercising.&nbsp; I've just been really stressed with school.&nbsp; Luckily, the quarter will be over this week and hopefully next quarter won't be so bad.&nbsp; My 30th birthday is coming up on April 1st, and my sister and I (we're twins) are having a big party the weekend before.&nbsp; I'm hoping that this will be a bit of motivation for me to stay on track so I can squeeze into one of my cute little dresses.&nbsp; It is going well so far, except I have a lot of food to eat.&nbsp; When you are sticking to low calorie food, you have to eat a whole lot to reach your daily calories.&nbsp; I feel like I am constantly eating.&nbsp; But, I can't complain.&nbsp; With all the fruit and veggies I've been eating, I don't have any room to eat any of the bad stuff. </p> <p>Now, I just have to get moving.&nbsp; Our water leaks from last week, got in the way of a couple of my workout days, so I didn't quite hit my work out goals.&nbsp; Also, this weekend I will be out of town, so I am hoping I'll have some time to squeeze in a workout between all our running around.</p> <p>Plus, I've been stressing out over getting things done for school.&nbsp; I have two group projects right now that I have been behind on, so when I go workout I sort of feel bad that I'm not doing homework instead.&nbsp; But, I'm hoping to turn that around over the next couple of days.&nbsp; It's been too long since I posted.&nbsp;</p> <p>Things have just been busy at work and grad school the last few weeks.&nbsp; The position I have now is only temporary so I've been working my but off to prove that they need me.&nbsp; It will probably be another month or so, until I know for sure.&nbsp; I really like working here, it's such a fun place to come to everyday.&nbsp; If I don't get picked up full time though, I will at least be here until mid March, so I plan on enjoying every minute of it.</p> <p>As for my diet, things have been going nowhere.&nbsp; I've been at the same weight for almost four weeks now.&nbsp; I tried Sparkpeople for about a month.&nbsp; I liked the recipes, etc. but it just didn't help me at all.&nbsp;</p> <p>Today, though, I am starting the Best Life diet.&nbsp; I like that it holds you accountable for your activity level, and that it doesn't just focus on what you are eating.&nbsp; During the first phase, the only thing you have to follow what they eat is breakfast, which I have no problem doing.&nbsp; I have always been a healthy breakfast person.&nbsp; But, I am also trying the other meals too.&nbsp; I mean, why not?</p> <p>I'm feeling good about this.&nbsp; I think it is going to work well for me.&nbsp; I need to be held accountable for my activity, which has definitely been less then it used to be.&nbsp; I'll let you know how it goes.</p> <p>Well, I can't end this post without telling you what happened to me yesterday.&nbsp; It's been quite cold here in Chicago the last couple of days; single digit temperatures.&nbsp; Because of that, some of the heating pipes broke, and we had a small flood in our condo.&nbsp; <img alt="" src="http://extrapounds.com/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/smiley_png.png" />&nbsp; It ended up not being so bad.&nbsp; The carpet along the walls that lign the hallway got soaked about four feet out.&nbsp; So, we have industrial fans and de-humidifiers all over the place for the next day or two until it is completely dry.&nbsp; Luckily, we were home, and we're able to get everything off the floor.&nbsp; The carpet is stained, and a little smelly, but the good news is, we were planning on getting new carpet anyway.&nbsp; So now insurance is going to pay for it, instead of us.&nbsp; You got to look on the bright side of things. <img alt="" src="http://extrapounds.com/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif" /></p> <p>Have a good day everyone!&nbsp; I promise to keep better in touch.</p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/healthyisin/comments/270640/i-have-to-work-today">Comments(1)</a> 270640 Friday, November 30, 2007 22:01:12 The gym is open!!! http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/healthyisin/comments/258077/the-gym-is-open <p>Yeah...I was able to work out last night!&nbsp; And I had a great workout.&nbsp; I took the Video Vixen class.&nbsp; So much fun...just dancing away.</p> <p>I've decided on how I am going to keep myself motivated.&nbsp; I've made up a calendar with my workout schedule for the month.&nbsp; I've also added in events, etc. that I know are going to get in the way of my workouts.&nbsp; But most importantly, I think, once a week I added a spot to put my weight and measurements.&nbsp; That way I have to see it all the time, as well as my hubby too.&nbsp; So, that way he can help keep me motivated.&nbsp; When I am just tracking it online, I don't pay attention to it, so I don't have to own up to when I'm slacking off.</p> <p>On days that I stick to my plan, I am going to give myself a gold star.&nbsp; The visual motivation is sure to help.&nbsp; I can't wait to let you know my results.</p> <a href="http://www.extrapounds.com/blog/healthyisin/comments/258077/the-gym-is-open">Comments(1)</a> 258077 Saturday, December 1, 2007 00:03:10 Happy New Year!!!
