Before After

So I did a little baking....

Yesterday I spent all day in my tiny little kitchen cranking out more cookies than should be allowed by law. I made Snicker doodles, Almond Raspberry thumbprints, Peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chippers, Mint cream brownies, Cranberry oatmeal cookies with Citrus glaze.... I used a LOT of Sugar. and a LOT of enriched Flour. And they all taste like little bites of heaven, if I do say so myself. Don't worry though, I only sampled them... like a half of a cookie each (except for the brownies... WOW are they good!) Now I just need to give them all to everyone else... how evil am I?! I brought a big box to work, and sent some with hubby to give to the hard working guys who will have them burn off by lunch. But there are still far too many in my house...

Christmas Cookies anyone? LOL

In other news, I'm feeling much better today than last time we "spoke". DH is the proud owner of a new (to us) truck, so no more taxi service by Sara, and I got in 2 KICK ASS workouts this weekend. I have been eating better (shhhhhh, those cookies have oatmeal! and Fruit!--two major food groups!), and even though My weight is still up a couple of pounds from my 140 low, I'm not worrying about it until next Tuesday. I'm not going binge crazy, and I am going to eat as well as I can as often as I can, but I am not going to skip anything I really want either. I am going to drink lots of water, weigh myself every morning, work out Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and not overdo it (AKA,one cookie, not 5 or 12). Come next Tuesday it's sugar Detox, just like this time last year. Getting back to that 140 mark is doing to be a good reason to get back on track.

Oh! And our power came back on Friday night, Thank goodness!  There are still so many people without power though, and it has been COLD! Please keep all those without power out here in the PNW in your thoughts, please!

Cookies

I am going over to my sister's place and baking cookies today!  It's so much fun, isn't it?  Good for you for only sampling yours.  We got our power back on Friday, too.  I feel bad for those who still don't have any.  It was weird not having to teach on the last day of school before winter break, but kind of nice!

Baking Goddess

I did the baking thing too a few weekends ago. And I was just as out of control as you in the amount I made!  I think I baked 10 different kinds of goodies, and then like you, gave most of them away!! LOL! I kept a few for my kids, but the lion's share went to my family, my co-workers, and for the Girl Scout bake sale! Ha! I didn't even sample them at the time. I eventually did, and found my fave (the traditional puppy chow). But everything else is still here waiting for the hubby to chow down. LOL!

Wait, he doesn't need it either. Who can I give these away to?...

no cookies, just cheese

My holiday baking is all casseroles. I think I ate about three tablespoones of the spinach casserole I made for work. Everybody went apesh*t over it. I had to post the recipe in the teacher's lounge. The secret is the three cups of Velveeta and a stick of real butter. The spinach is just a binding agent for the fat. This weekend I will be making a squash casserole--once again, very cheesy. I may eat more of that one; It's one of my faves.

Cookies are just too dangerous. I'm not going there . . .Better to make something that gets eaten in one sitting and doesn't linger around the kitchen looking portable and tempting.

Baking!

Me too!  Omg I've done so much baking and sampling that my clothes are getting tight.  UGH!   I actually went to a cookie party and my cookies tied for first, although I lost when everyone had to revote between the two of us. :(  Oh well...

I hope that you have a great Christmas.  I know you'll be right on track after the holiday. :)

holy cow!

Girl - you have seriously got a baking thumb!  People must smile when they see you coming with those goodies!  Happy Holidays and here's to getting in your fruit servings! haha

Are you coming back?

I'm getting worried about you. I know you must be very busy, but I hope you get a chance to blog soon! We miss you around here! It seems like a lot of my buddies are taking breaks.

Anyway, hope you had a wonderful holiday and hope to hear from you soon!
