And if I could get a good look at it it would probably have several tennis shoe prints in bedded in it too--thanks to you all!
It was worth it though, because I DID go home yesterday and do my Yogalates DVD and I DID get up this morning and go to the Y. It was weird because Tuesdays have been my DVD mornings for a while now and I felt out of sync and like I was screwing up everyone else's rotation on the weight machines and even the cardio equipment... I still kicked some serious booty though, so it was totally worth it. I will be glad when next week roles around and I'm back on my regular MWF Y days though!
I have decided that I need to put off thinking about doing a Tri this year because of my foot issues. I am probably looking at surgery and then recovery time, and then? Well, then I'm not so sure I want to run on it like that right away. So I have decided to focus on weight training for right now. I want some sexy fierce, muscled up arms---but Im not sure what to change to get them. Right now (or really up until a couple of months ago when I went MIA in the weight room) I had shapely arms, but they weren't muscley. I want more definition... any pointers on how to achieve this? I'm thinking I need to move to free weights... but free weights are a whole new world, and they make me a bit nervous. Anyone?

Shapely Arms
If you don't have time to do weight lifting for your arms, you can simply do some push up with your own weight. I used to have shapely arms until I stop weight lifting and it became pretty baggy from pregnancy.
I like to go my yogas at home too especially at night when my daughter is asleep. Hope you have a great week!
You are my savior! Your suggestion for the apples, cinnamon and yogurt treat sparked my curiousity and I just tried it. Holy cow it was amazing. I love apples and I love yogurt, but putting it all together with cinnamon and warm apples made it taste like I was being bad! I've now had two apples and two yogurts today. So thank you very much for that epiphany.
Congrats on getting your exercise in today!!! I'm not sure how you get shapely arms but good luck... I started with 3 pound weights and eventually graduated to 7 pound weights but I never felt like my arms were shapely. Just a little leaner.
Free weights don't have to be scary. One of the things that frustrates me about pretty much everything about health are conflicting opinions. A lot of trainers will say go free weights because you are working a few muscles at a time to lift and resist, and then others will say that the circuit machines are great for isolating the specific muscle you want to work and safer if you are getting fatigued. I use free weights, a body bar, and a ball (akin to a young child's bouncey ball which is about the best way I have to describe it) in one of my weekly classes. I would like to think my arms are growing more shapely, but I'm sure it's also helped by my fat losses (which is clearly no longer an issue for you). I would say pick something you are comfortable with (machines or free weights) and challenge yourself to the point of muscle fatigue and make sure you take a day off in between to allow the muscles to slightly heal and recover. I think consistent persistence is your key to shapely arms.
Good for you for getting back into the swing of things. Your Mexi-weight will be gone in no time!
