Twist and Turn and Burn

I am going to try a Jazzercise class today. I hope that they let me try it before I sign up - I would like to see if I like it. I am looking forward to this - I love aerobic classes!!

The location that I am going to is pretty darn close to my house - so I would have no excuse to not go. There are 3 classes in the morning, 2 in the evening and 1 on the weekend. The woman who owns this location owns others also, so she allows her students to go to any of the 3 locations - so no excuses now! Unless I dont like the class.

Anyone do Jazzercise classes? What do you think of them? I would love to hear about it.

Holidays

Are not my favorite time of year. Sure, I LOVE watching my children during this time. We celebrate Hanukkah and not Christmas. It is a different holiday than Christmas is. Christmas to me (please do not take any offense here) is all about decorating a tree and houses with all sorts of pretty lights (yes, I have always wanted to decorate my house with lights as I think those that hang down like snow falls would look gorgeous on my house, but hubby says too much like Christmas) and Santa coming down the chimney (dont forget to leave the cookies and milk out for him), and being good, and giving and receiving presents.

Hanukkah is not about that. Sure we give and receive presents, but there is no tree. There are no lights to hang outside. We have a Menorah. The Menorah has spots for 8 candles on it. Each represents the day that the oil burned when it was not supposed to. Our holiday is about a battle that was won (arent most of our holidays about a battle? Yes, that or for crops). And oh yes, Hanukkah is about eating (yes, so are all holidays). So many things are fried in OIL! Yes, OIL is big during Hanukkah. Yes, there are healthier versions of the fried in Oil foods, but noone makes them cuz they are not as good. Portion Control, that will be my mantra during the rest of the holidays!

It is a pretty time of year but I HATE ALL THE COOKIES THAT CLIENTS SEND TO US!! We have someone that each year sends us Christmas wrapping paper and bows each year. I have 8 boxes of this (anyone want it?) - but I like this much better than the cookies. Noone in my house needs the freaking cookies! They are going in the trash very soon. No, actually, we are going to a friends Christmas party this weekend and I will bring them there!

Well, whatever holiday you celebrate - I wish a Happy Holiday to you and A SAFE holiday season to you and your family!

Post Gobble Gobble

I feel like a gobble gobble! We were away for the holiday - with Hubby's family - a good time was had by all. But, I am up a few pounds which I am convinced is mostly water weight - but not all of it is, cuz I did my share of pigging out (buffets will do that to you). And since we had to keep buying liter bottles of water, I didnt drink nearly as much as I should have. That and the plane rides... I could go on and on. Short of it is that I need to drink water this week and flush it all out! Oh yeah, NO BUFFETS FOR A LONG TIME!!!

I do have to say that we all have killer tans and spent plenty of time in the Caribean Sea and on the beach!

Gosh I love sitting on the beach with a good book with the kids are off jumping those waves!

Hope that everyone also had a wonderful time over Thanksgiving!

I can almost taste IT

IT is that I am almost in to the next decade. Gosh this is hard. This getting older business, along with crappy metobolism, not great genetics, along with my really NOT wanting to drink all the water that I need to drink (more on that below) is really getting HARD!

So who else has SLOW metabolism? Who else has not great genetics? I envy all those who have both of those. They dont realize that it is not always a matter of moving more and eating a bit healthier. There are so many of us out there who are doing that but the weight just doesnt fall off of us as it does to those with a higher metabolism.

I wish that there was a magic pill out there that would solve the crappy metabolism problem. Anyone know of one? That is legal?

Ok, so now my water drinking issues. I just cant do it. I can't get in all the water. I know that I really could, but it is all in my head. I dont know why. I know this has been an issue of mine. I am home during the day (unless I am out running errands) so it is not an issue of not being near a bathroom. It is just me being stubborn. UGH!!!

I think...

I had the most awesome workout! Ok, it most likely was not my most awesome, but it has been since I stopped working out with my trainer.

I did 1 hour of cardio on eliptical and then 50 minutes of other stuff. What other stuff?

200 - various abs i worked my arms to the point of exhaustion (of my arms that is), which is what I learned to do with my trainer. To work them until I just cant anymore.

My legs - hmmm... did some leg stuff, but will work on my legs tomorrow.

I did some more working with weights - I love working with weights, now that I have the wide variety of weights and what to do with them (again, thank you to my trianer).

I just feel so good and my arms are like jello!! I hope to be able to work back up to using the same weights that i left off at (12-15 pound weights).

Lets see what tomorrow brings me.

My personal chef

I have lost 3 pounds as of today (Saturday). I started Diet to Go and have lost 3 pounds - yeah!! I dont believe that it is water weight, as I have been working on this for a while. So I am going with the thought that it is the fact that I am cutting down on calories and all the crap food that I would eat. Now I need to remember to update my weight chart to reflect this. I already deducted 1 pound from my chart, need to change to reflect the other 2 pounds. I will do this next week.

the food is yummy and fresh. And it is all precooked! Not FROZEN. There is nothing frozen about this at all. I pick up the food twice a week (see the fresh part). It is all cooked at their kitchens and I also receive all the nutritional information with each pick up.

No I just need to kick myself in the bottom and get myself excersing much more! I am getting flabby and I hate the look of flab - can't stand it. So I know what I need to do and will do it on Monday. I am not using the ole "I will start on Monday thing", but I will start on Monday. Today is kind of a crazy day around here and tomorrow I have a golf outing that will last most of the day. So, I will start on Monday.

It is owned by a friend of ours from our country club. The woman in the blue bikini holding the trophy is a friend of ours as well.

I had meatloaf, green beans and mashed sweet potatoe for dinner. I am a quantity eater and was so satisfied and full after eating this! so yeah me!

So I am going to try something new. I am picking up my Diet 2 Go. What is Diet 2 Go? Think of my own personal chef! It is like someone else doing the cooking for me. I pick up the FRESH food twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) and they figure out all the calories, etc for me. I am doing the 1200 calorie plan. Seriously! All I have to do is heat it up (some of it) and eat it! Oh yeah and LOSE THE WEIGHT!!! That is it. I have done this program in the past and was successful - but I stopped because it was difficult for me to get to the location to pick it up and since I dont live in a convenient place they would not deliver to me.

Now they have pick-up locations that are convenient for me.

YEAH!! I cant "weight" (pun intended) to start tonight with my dinner. MMMM.... Jealous of my new personal chef? You should be!
