Surgery again!
Yes, I am having surgery again - on the boobs - again! I have a lump in my left breast that I found. My dr. sent me for mammogram and ultrasound. It did not show up on mammogram so good thing we could feel it! The ultrasound showed that it is not meeting the characteristics of a tumor but of a cyst. They have decided that it is a granuloma. It is a result of my surgery last year.
Yesterday I met with the surgeon who was so thorough! He felt everywhere (where was needed in this area) and my gland and lymph nodes. He agreed that he does not believe it is a tumor and that it from the surgery (there is some scar tissue that shows up underneath this lump). So he said I could either leave it alone and see what it does or he recommends to have it taken out, which is what I have chosen to do. I have too many friends who are either being treated right now for breast cancer or who have been, to not do anything with this.
So on, March 28th, I will be back in surgery, its outpatient. The surgery will last between 1.5-2 hours. He will be able to go in through one of my incisions - that is good.
Did I mention that he stuck a needle into the lump to see if he can drain it - nothing came out. It is a hard lump but he figured he would try.
Did I mention that he stuck a needle into the lump and did not give me any topical anesthetic???? THAT HURT!!! But I can not have topical anesthetics as I am allergic to anything that ends in "caine"! Like life threatening allergy!
I was still sore from it last night (and cranky as well). Today just a bit bruised.

Yum-o!
