Pirates!
After almost a year away from my blog, I have returned with much shame and disgrace to announce that I have allowed my weight to push the boundaries of decency at 239 pounds. No, I won't call it 240, despite the scale hatefully displaying that particular number this morning, because for one, weight fluctuates and two, I don't wanna. So there.
If reading back over my blog teaches me one thing, it's that I need to stop letting small setbacks get me down. I championed myself over the loss of 3 pounds, cheered over my loss of another pound with a big, fat cake, then had the nerve to be surprised and hurt when I gained back three. From there, I went straight to the cheeseburger. It is no surprise that I find myself back here again, a year later, a good 10 pounds over my original starting weight here.
The Plan:
1. PIRATES! That is, small setbacks that serve only to harm me. My job is to identify these bastards as pirates and act accordingly--destroy them. Fight back. If my weight creeps up, it's my job to match it with an extra 15 minutes on the elliptical. If I eat too much or forget to work out, I need to put in the effort and work twice as hard to renew my commitment.
2. ARTILLERY! I've got weapons. One of which is a membership at a local women's gym that doesn't run out until December. Another is TIME. I've got graduate school and an assistantship position at my college that afford me more personal time than you'd think; time I can use for exercise and healthy eating strategies.
3. BATTLE PLAN. I don't have one laid out yet, but I will. Organization is sort of 'my thing.'
I'll post again when I've laid out the plan.
