My idea
Chili and home-made cornbread. Yum Yum! We just had chili and soup in the past week and I'm proud to say the cornbread I made was damn good and I damn near the whole 8x8 pan of it!
How about beef tips with noodles? sort of like roast. put the stew meat in the crockpot with cream of mushroom soup and onion dry soup mix and let it go and then throw it on top of cooked egg noodles with dinner rolls.

Hi there
How about Beef stew, and dinner rolls. There could also be left overs out of that.
Chicken roast, rice, or mashed potatoes, side of veg.
Spaghetti, and meatballs
Meatloaf with anything
Any kind of roast
I'm running out of idea's now. I think that's such a nice thing to do!!! Wish I could live where you do
Hope that helped a little

Love it!
I love that idea. I always bring lasagnas, but mine are usually frozen. But with a bag of salad and some bread.
When my sister in law had her baby, I made some beef stew. I put it in a freezer bag. That way, she could throw it all in the crock pot one morning and be done. I also made a big batch of spaghetti. With spaghetti, you can also mix it all up with some cheese and put in one of those disposable baking dishes. All they have to do is heat it up.
Have you ever had chicken spaghetti? It's spaghetti noodles with chicken, onions, peppers, Velveeta, and Rotel. Pretty yummy and easy.
Hmmmm...I hope you get some great suggestions.
Oh, Shelley had a recipe for minestrone soup on her blog a few days ago. I made it and it's YUMMO! It makes a decent size batch. Maybe with some crusty bread or something.

Lucky neighbors!
I wish my neighborhood was as supportive as yours!!!!
I know its a little late, cuz I've been MIA, but I would suggest:
Of course, I'd accept pizza or Chinese food! :) Good luck to the two women having surgery this week!
PS I tried and failed miserably at those cheese balls!!! I suck at deep frying!!! It was a big, fat mess!!! I'll just buy frozen next time!!! LOL I'd have better luck at your cheese balls!!! :)

Sweet!
I suggest chicken pot pie. And biscuits, because they can be dinner or breakfast.
Sausage and cheese balls. Those are simple to make and one batch would be enough for two families.

That's wickid neat
I love that idea! You are blessed to have awesome neighbors. with the family with 9 year olds especially on a friday night I would suggest making a home made pizza with them. Let them help make it. I've done this before when I used to have a babysitter and it was so much fun to make your own pizza and eat it. Plus you can get silly with the kids.

Really Nice
It is really nice that you are doing this. Here is my two cents. If you have time. Bring all the ingredients over, and have the children cook with you. This is wonderful as sometimes you just need a break from all the people around you or just some time alone. This will help pull everyone in.
Teach the smallest one how to plate food so that it looks great. Give the middle one a potato peeler/cookie cutter and have them peel and make shapes from food. The oldest one, Teach him what you are doing so that he can help out later/learn some basics for cooking.
Everyone gave great ideas for food, so I will just offer the suggestions for how to make it.
I will have to read back a little bit to see how things are, so for right now I hope that things are ok.
Transformations TV just went up, where you can look up all the inpiriational stories from the people who have succeeded on the Transformation challange or the BFL challange. Supposedly the book was to be released on the 18th, though I cannot find that anywhere, now I can only find that it is coming out soon.
